Finally got to play the Infamous 2 demo. It seems like a total rehash of the first with new powers.... but that said the first one was fun so I expect this one will be as well.

Even though Sony was good, Nintendo is going to bring down the house today @_@

I kind of dislike how the 3 giants are getting fractured in their launches. I have gotten so used to Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft releasing consoles all around the same time frame that Nintendo jumping ahead feels like the end of an era :{

Nintendo's conference is gonna be INSANE!

Apparently, Mark Rein from Epic has a "pretty cool announcement" one hour after Nintendo's conference starts. And there's buzz about GTA V being announced there too...

Welcome, Nintendo, to making games that game journalists actually talk about!

Doesn't bother me either way, since I love the Nintendo games most people ignore, but let's hope that Nintendo plays this one right and brings new, cool stuff to the table.

SO EXCITED!

Didn't Xbox 360 launch a year before PS3 and Wii?

Yeah but the releases all felt simultaneous in a way, like the 3 consoles marked out the beginning of a new generation but with Nintendo jumping ahead, how do we define this generation now?

If GTAV premiers at Nintendo's conference as a Project Cafe launch title, it will be the biggest E3 shocker since FFXIII went multiplat

Come on Nintendo, rock the gaming world again :gogirl:

I think that Café can perfectly well coexist with PS3 and 360. HD is just now getting on its stride and I can see those two being alive and well for more 5 years.

What Wii proved is that Nintendo was absolutely right in that it was not wise to launch an HD system in 2006. If Nintendo did the same thing Microsoft and Sony did, they'd be screwed. An expensive, third-choice console would bring the entire company down. By launching an SD disruptive console, they brought a successful product with a 5-year lifespan (which, let's not forget, was always the normal lifespan for consoles.

Launching a PS4 or a 720 too soon wouldn't do any good for them, in my opinion.

So... Wii U, huh.

Makes sense that they'd mantain a strong connection with the Wii, because it stresses that the system is compatible with the Wiimote - so Wii owners won't have to sell everything.

Buuuut... they really didn't convince us that this is it. There are plenty of good ideas, but not enough concrete information. Prices? Exclusive games? They didn't even show the console itself, only the controller! Also, the thing looks huge! Not sexy at all, especially when compared to Vita, which does the same...

In conclusion: it could be successful, but it's not a sure thing.

Hey

Apologize but don't involved in that Nintendo, wii Discussion

But have you heard about The Witcher 2 game? Played Anyone?

I haven't played yet but heard that is very good game...

You know, after mulling it for a while, I realized the Wii U is really not that bad. It's just that after going off our rockers on "bears" and "weinerpoops" (lol GAF <3), you can't help but be disappointed. The expectations were way too high.

I think the truth is that Nintendo doesn't have much to show from the system except itself. My bet is that it'll launch after E3 2012, because they'll need a venue to show the games it'll have. If they price console and controller right and lauch with good killer-apps, it might be a force to be reckoned with...

ETA: the Wii U console. Looks like a 360 slim slim. So awesome.

Analysts are hitting at between $290 and $300 for the WiiU

I don't know, feels like WiiU might not be so great but hopefully they show more in the next couple of months. Plus so many games will lose the ability of achievements and trophies which means if GTA V is exclusive to the WiiU means you won't get much out of the game if they don't have any kind of trophy/achievement system.

I got ME2 on PC a few months ago and I feel like such a wimp. Totally unfamilliar with Mass Effect here. So I started on the easiest level. Great game except that the easiest level is anything but. However, it seems that the game learns when one sucks. After getting killed umpteen times the game allows you to advance.

Playing Super Paper Mario..what a great game

3 Members involved in the PSN attack have been arrested in Spain by the Technological Investigation Brigade (BIT)

There us one crucial rule for self preservation if you are a member of Anonymous: stay anonymous. In Spain, three hackers have failed to do just that, and have been arrested for their attacks on the PSN, banks and several government websites.

A Spanish National Police statement said that three members of Anonymous were arrested in Barcelona, Valencia and Almeria, but they were not named. The suspects were called “leaders of the Spanish section” of Anonymous, but due to the fact Anonymous has no centralized command, it is more likely they mean key and influential members of the group. Spain’s National Police claim the arrests have “dismantled the dome for network hackers in Spain,” with the the main server in country having been seized.

The head of the Technological Investigation Brigade (BIT) said (translated):

In the network part from normal people to other more qualified women who serve as stewards of the [IRC] chats that voted on the targets of attacks.

Spanish police specializing in cyber crime analyzed more than two million lines of online chat and Internet pages to find the suspected criminals. The detainees could face charges of conspiracy, punishable by sentences ranging from 2 to 3 years in prison.

NATO recently commented on Anonymous, saying that “the longer these attacks persist the more likely countermeasures will be developed, implemented, the groups will be infiltrated and perpetrators persecuted.”

The problem will be proving these guys are members of Anonymous. It's not like they'll have a membership card or hidden tattoos.

They'll most likely turn out to be script-kiddies lying for attention.

Nintendo isn't ready to open up about its Wii U pricing strategy, but president Satoru Iwata has said you won't be getting the new console on the cheap.

The exec wouldn't put a ballpark price on the upcoming console when quizzed by the London Evening Standard, but did admit: "This is not going to be cheap."
In another interview this week, Iwata signalled Wii U will likely be priced at more than 20,000 yen ($250) in Japan when it launches next year.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said earlier this week that the newly announced console will offer consumers "fantastic value" for money and be "competitively" priced with PS3 and Xbox 360

What do you think? $250 too much?
