Gay Marriage Updates By State

They know that the longer they make this go on, the more support for marriage equality there will be...because it just keeps on growing. I really think there only reasons for doing this is to make more money and hurt as many people as they can by delaying the inevitable.

Excuse me but yes, I catagorize 15 months as two separate years.

It's actually 3 separate years starting from the oral arguments in 12/10 to a final decision which will be by 3/12.

Even that doesn't mean a decision will be released instantly after a verdict from CaSC.

Too bad all the gays in California won't be able to turn around and sue NOM for damages for justice delayed.

The case in the 9th Circut was heard in December I believe, and the question to the California Supreme Court was asked/accepted in Feb./April. It'll be roughly one year exactly.

The California Supreme Court is required by law to issue a ruling within 90 days of the trial hearing.

I find it fascinating that members of NOM and similar organizations are afraid of publicly being associated with their own organizations. Even they themselves know they're in the wrong, and yet they still feel compelled to spread their ignorance and hatred... What a waste of time, space and money!

Marriage equality in Minnesota now! :=D:

Statistically Maine is a nearly certain victory for us in 2012.

Just to clarify what I meant:

-In 2009 the law was repealed by 52.9%

-2012 is a Presidential election year, meaning a much higher voter turnout (for Maine 2008 voter turnout was around 71%, in 2009 it was 58%). This fact alone likely shifted results against us by 1-2% (off year elections are skewed to older, more conservative voters)

-Since 2009, support for gay marriage has increased astronomically. Before the surge, it was increasing at roughly 1% a year, while now it's increasing at roughly double that rate.

Two big points the Maine campaign should hit HARD (I'm even going to call and recommend them):

-Marc Mutty, the head of Yes on 1, admitted in an interview this year that the claims made regarding gay marriage being taught in schools are fabricated.

-The ties some Yes on 1 leaders had to the Kill the Gays bill in Uganda.

The Assembly would never entertain the idea.

Have fun blowing 2 million Brian.

Brian Brown must be really dense if he is going to waste 2 million on NY. Any sane person against gay marriage would be spending that kind of dough somewhere where the issue is still in question. It's quite obvious to any intelligent observer that NY won't be going backward on this.

I plan to intern or be employed with Duluth United for All Familes. A couple months ago I told a friend who is working with the organization exactly what you are saying Razor, and she told me they will be doing nothing like that. I told her we have to play politics to win and she didn't believe me.

As far as the lie about gay marriage being taught in public schools becoming ingrained in people; it's one thing if the state attorney general says it's untrue. It's an entirely different thing when the head of the side making said claim admits it's unture. I get the impression a lot of Californians feel very duped by the Yes on 8 campaign and I'm sure many in Maine will feel the same way too.

But yah, the hearing in the Senate committee is going to be awesome! Is it just me or is our side having MANY victories/signs of progress as of late?!
