Gay Marriage Updates By State

^
What is really ironic about that is the bill that just passed the California Assembly:
http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/1665131

The bill teaches nothing about same sex marriage, just events in GLBT history. Anyways, it passed in a state where same sex marriage is not legal (and was actually repealed). One could argue that banning gay marriage led to this bill passing!!!

Showing the outrageousness of small-minded sects in the light of day is not guerilla warfare.

A large part of the issue is perception, absolutely. The over-the-top GayFest activists don't necessarily help the cause of the quieter, more mainstream, Gay community.

That's not a statement of condemnation, just fact.
Getting people to understand the the vast majority of Gay/Lesbian couples are "just like ordinary people" is a large part of the battle, IMHO.

I commented on one of our local radio station's posting of NYS (R) Senator Jim Alesi's "defense of his vote" on our Marriage Equality Act, and tied it to FB - I replied to a couple of neanderthal comments on the radio station's website, at length.

Tieing it to FB made for interesting results - knowing my extended family. Had a long PM between one relative - she PM'd me, asking "how . . ." vs. the Bible. I responded, thoughtfully, respectfully, and we left it at that. I told her I didn't expect to change her mind, and she wasn't going to change mine. I admitted that I couldn't quote chapter and verse, but also drew the contrasts of Old Testament vs. New, and the oral tradition and human filtering of both.

Those of you who are on JUBBers Unite have had an opportunity to read what I posted in its entirety.

How Clergy Helped a New York Same-Sex Marriage Law Pass

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/16/us/16religion.html?_r=2

You guys and your "must set browser to accept all cookies" sites.

You know what happens when I do what the NYT and others ask, for an afternoon? Even with protective software, I end up having to go through and wipe a hundred or more unwanted cookies mostly dedicated to tracking everything I do online.

Only 55% supported the ban in 2006? That's pretty good imo and way ahead of other states. Seems like a good chance that more 5% could change in 6 years.

Get someone like Gary Johnson out there to explain it correctly, and it could be done. Colorado, at least when I lived there, had a serious libertarian streak.

And where are the Christians explaining that Jesus did not say, "Go therefore and rule the nations, passing laws from the Old Testament....."?

As a Christian, I cannot in good conscience listen to Gallagher. She is in rebellion against the Gospel, choosing a path of righteousness by law, which the Apostle Paul explains leads to ruin.
