General Hospital - Black and White Ball

"General Hospital" has already went down the gay male storyline road.

In 2005 the character of Lucas Jones, the adopted son of Doctor Tony Jones and nurse Bobbie Jones, came out of the closet.

He was at first being played by that uber hottie Ryan Carnes from "Eating Out" and then "Desperate Housewives."

There's been speculation that he quit the role because he was going to be stereotyped as only able to play gay characters (hey, that's plenty alright with me! :sex:)

They re-cast him with Ben Hogestyn, the son of "Days Of Our Lives" veteran Drake Hogestyn. He was capable in the role but personally always made me think of Clay Aiken but I'm getting off subject here.

The show seemed loyal to it's storyline even having Lucas involved in a storyline where he picks up a hot Latin stud and then ends up getting gay bashed by the same hot Latin stud (not so hot to me after that!)

Lucas then started flirting with some random guy on the show but that storyline bit the dust the same time Lucas' dad Tony was killed off the show in November of 2005 after 21 years of service and perhaps the most heart-breaking soap performance ever when Tony watched his dying daughter B.J. give her heart to cousin Maxie (May, 1994).

Today Carly Corinthos, the sister of gay Lukas is the central star of "General Hospital." But do we ever see or hear mention of her brother?

That's a big "nope"

Kinda hard to hook up when the writers make the awful mistake of killing Georgia off.

Assuming that they stick to it and didn't let that rumor leak just for effect. I know it is rare that something like that gets out and doesn't happen, but you never know.

Is there a gay story line brewing on GH? I thought I read that because of the "success" of Nuke at ATWT other soaps were/are starting there own with GH first out of the block. Any ideas?

If you ask me, they should have developed Lucas' character the same way they developed Eden Riegel's Bianca Montgomery on AMC. In my opinion, they did right by her.

A little off-topic, but I loved the way Tony Jones left the show. After being underused for so long (big mistake, I say), he died a hero. And the speech he gave to Lucas after he finally came out to him was beautiful.

Thanks for posting that, Neoachilles and I couldn't agree more.

The man had such an erratic 21-year-run on "General Hospital": one year he was on every single day and the next he was complete backburner; at times, he was the beloved hero of the show and then at others he had shaved his head and was holding HIV-positive Robyn prisoner and without access to her medicine.

But during it all, Brad Maule NEVER phoned in his performances like the majority of soap actors today.

As touching as the above(tony's death) scene was....I prefer the scene where Sonny sees Brenda at the church and they say goodbye to each other....while Avril Lavigne's - Im with you is playing ...so sad....I also looooove when Sam lost her baby and Sarah mclachlin's Angel was playing..probably some of the best recent work from GH. I love when they use modern music .

I cannot believe Emily is dead. One more Quartermaine a few more to go. Why couldn't she have just gone away or a recast? I do not really like the character, but I cannot handle change well.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Liz die either. I'm so completely sick of her.

The writers give the reason of the actress wanting to move on to bigger and better things, so they had to write her out somehow. And something about good people die sometimes too. Something like that.

wasn't it just SO fucking sweet how Liz just let her supposed best friend wander off by herself in the middle of everything that was goin on. i mean she could've at least offered up the gun. don't even get me started on the whole Liz/Jason thing!

btw...did anyone else find it kind upsetting watching Sonny's reaction to Em's death. i mean it just reminds of their creepy "relationship".......

Yeah...that was a reminder I didn't need. But it wouldn't have been at all realistic without that reaction.

Not offering up the gun was bitchy. It's like "There is a maniac on the loose, we have a big group here, but you can't have the gun while you wander around alone and no one stops you."

As for Jason/Liz...all the more reason for Liz to die. I am enjoying Sam quite a bit these days, and watching high and mighty Liz get brought down to size. I'm tired of princess Elizabeth getting everything, can do no wrong, and everyone loving her while she destroys all of their lives.

Go Sam!

It appears that Nikolas killed her by strangling her during one of his blackout rages. So if he did, he'll never remember actually doing it.

However, it was done off screen so it is possible that someone else knocked him out and did it.

I missed a few episodes and I haven't seen Georgie recently. Did they go through with her death?

Georgie was on today. I watched the show today and was really into it. I don't trust Logan or Cooper, I think they may be working for Anthony, and what the f**k was with Jason dropping his gun and standing on the wall with Elizabeth?!

Oh yeah .... Earlier in the week, Georgie heard Jerry call Cooper, "#3", and she asked Cooper, why Jerry called him that. I think maybe Cooper is the killer.

What's goin' on? The Quartermaines are dropping like flies. First, Lila dies, then AJ, and Justus, and Alan followed suit. Now Emily is gone. It's like a curse or something. Anyway, I kinda hope Coop isn't the killer--I don't want to have him get killed off. Jason Gerhardt is way too fine for that. As for Jason and Elizabeth--give me a break. The both of them standing on a ledge, come on.

So glad Georgie isn't dead. At least not yet. I really don't want to see her killed.

Jason, as the "top enforcer" had a perfect shot at Anthony. He had the gun aimed at him and Anthony waved his gun away. Perfect time to shoot him in the head. I think he should have let her fly. Her high horse is so high she wouldn't fall but maybe a foot or two before landing on it anyway.

This had so much potential, but it is becoming a mess now.

We have more than one killer on the loose!
Georgie gets killed next month
