Glee! [merged]

also...did we know Quinn was living with Puck? Cause I feel like we didn't know that....

There was a throwaway line in "Laryngitis" about it.

Also I agree with the rest of your post. I only listened to this episode and everyone sounded the same. I couldn't tell who was singing. The show is getting pretty hard to take.

I'll give them a few episodes into season 2 before I stop watching though .

So uh...were there a lot of things out of character last night or what?

There is no cohesion on this show anymore...hasn't been since it came back in April when they decided to have each episode have a strict 'theme'.

The only way to redeem itself is to trash the theme episodes in my opinion...and get back to having songs revolve around plot, not plot around songs (with themes to boot).

^I'm sorry but they handle the gayness so sloppily and offensively. Yes, people have crushes but not to the point of serenading him in front of everyone. And constantly making him a guy feel awkward and uncomfortable like Kurt.

I dont know what the gay creator is thinking. He has basically made Kurt everything that homophobes and ignorants think: Constantly trying to make everyone gay and then hiding behind minority protections even when they are wrong.

Then Rachel's dads. When they were shown seemed kind of interesting. Now they are only mentioned as a plot device that kinda works against gay adoption. Rachel needs a mom to sew her dress b/c she has 2 gay dads who stapled stuffed animals. If theyre already stereotyping shouldnt gay dads be better at sewing than this woman.

I just dont get why a gay show writer/creator would make such horrible stereotypical storylines that actually work against gay people and show the deficiency in same-sex parenting.

Oh yeah. The Kurt/Finn storyline I've actually at times skipped past it. It's so uncomfortable to watch. Though it's made me appreciate straight people more and recognize that for the ones who are gay-friendly, it can be difficult.

They could take Kurt's story and make something really great out of it, Colfer certainly has the acting chops to pull it off, but they instead choose to turn him into a caricature. When he's not throwing himself at Finn, or trying to emotionally blackmail his father, or being downright rude to other glee club members, then he's actually a great character.

OK I know what type of character Kurt is but I remeber school and I'll tell you this to be put with the girls was an insult I mixed with guys and girls, hell the show is about acceptance let's see Kurt do something with the guys. Its my life doesn't count as he went behind their backs to the girls.
It also doesn't count because he automatically moved over to the girls but Will made him join the boys.

Well at least I got my Sue back.

Finale next week. Finally hitting sectionals! Should be a great show next week...hopefully.

I guess I'm in the minority because I actually really enjoy the Kurt/Finn storyline. And I have no problem with the show's handling of the gays (well...I am a little annoyed that the gay dads couldn't sew). I think Kurt's character has used effectively to show comedic relief and show how tough it is to be a gay youth.

What I think most of you are forgetting is Kurt is a high school student. Who doesn't remember falling in love with the straight guy you can never have? Who didn't fantasize about turning him? Has the character done some incredibly dramatic and unrealistic things to try and get the guy? Yes. But this is a tv show based on kids bursting into song. The characters and situations will be greatly exaggerated.

Also, I'm a little upset with everyone's notion that Kurt needs to be 'butched up'. I don't see what's wrong with his flamboyant character. How the hell else will they be able to get his character across without all the flamobyance?

Just watched the Bad Romance clip again did Santana lip synch Gaga before burting into her own voice its just when she starts her voice seems waaay different and her synching is way off, just wondering.

Also madonna and GaGa come on Ryan I actually cheered when Puck did Sammy D and the Boys finally did KISS, seriously I'm waiting on the Kylie ep then I'm turning if off. Stop using fame hungery fake users like GaGa and Madonna get proper Artists to base an episode on!

For me it's not about butching him up or displaying his flamboyance or anything like that. I just hate how acidic he can be sometimes and I get generally uncomfortable knowing Finn's never gonna take the bait yet Kurt continually goes there.

Since the show returned I've been getting more and more pissed at both him and Mercedes. They come across as so self serving (self involved high school students? never :p). I would love for Kurt to realize Finn is never going to turn gay and for the two of them to develop an actual brotherly relationship.

I don't know though. Maybe it is just about Finn. If Kurt were to throw himself at Puck I wouldn't mind at all and I'd find it really entertaining. As far as Puck goes, when he isn't being a dick, he's really sweet and adorable.

And I've read some quotes about Kurt's future in Season 2 and I'm really happy about it.

I have to agree with you. I love the Kurt/Finn storyline... I had the straight guy crush in high school so its fun to watch it happen. I may not agree with ALL of the flambouyance but they get the main points of a gay youth around. I especially like how Kurt came out to Mercedes. I did LOVE how Kurt got up to go with Finn, Puck and the guys after Rachel got egged. It showed a little bit more manliness than usual. I also agree with that the gay dads not knowing how to sew saddened me.

I agree with some of the other posts about how they have gotten out of the story line with the themes. I also agree about the back up dancers, where do they come from? I am also trying to figure out how Quinn is having her baby already... if its been 9 months the school year should be over.

The Lady GaGa episode was a really good one, they did Bad Romance very well. Idina also did Poker Face very well :)

I think that's the reason I don't mind the storyline. Like the person below said, I remember being totally, head over heels in love with this straight guy in high school. Lord, I wanted him so bad. And I did a lot of stupid things trying to get him. So I identify with Kurt and I think it shows what a lot of us go through in high school; it's tough falling for someone that will never want you.

Yeah, I'm never disappointed with the show's choice of songs. I don't like some of the rock stuff they did (Loser, Beth etc) but I think they did them very well.

^ There are some songs I don't agree with either and some songs I love a lot more than others like "Total Eclipse of the Heart," "Dream On," and "Don't Stop Believing." Also concerning hulli's quote, I would really love if Finn and Kurt have a brotherly relationship, I think it would be a good showing of how a gay man overcomes discrimination... I hope they sing another duet together, but this time actually sing it WITH each other :) All they need to do is give Kurt a boyfriend and then I think those two will have a great relationship together :D

really? i feel they didn't even start showing a baby bump until this weeks episode...

yup it was in Michael Ausielo's May Sweeps Scorecard...June 8th is when he said she would be giving birth...and yeah...I was wondering when he said that too cause she was like stick skinny two episodes ago...and just got a bump this week pretty much...but whatever...not really going to look to Glee for continuity or realism

I think i'm done with this show....I can't handle the cheesiness anymore...and the non-storytelling....

this episode had horrible songs...a lame episode "theme" and there weren't even any funny one liners or anything.

also...did we know Quinn was living with Puck? Cause I feel like we didn't know that....also...how can they always find all these back up dancers/singers for their solo performances when everyone is always making fun of them and would never join Glee club.....
really? i thought the episode was awesome, and all the numbers were performed well.

if you take the show for what it is, a fun guilty pleasure, you'll find it is pretty damn good.

This is kind of random...

But I was watching the "Bad Romance" performance again, and noticed Brittany (Heather Morris) crouching down after Santana's solo is almost done and banging on her knee with one foot coming off the ground to the beat.

While I know she is a professional dancer and did Single Ladies w/ Beyonce at the AMA's, that shit is hard to do

It's at 1:48 if you care to watch (and it's weird how it's in "reverse" but oh well.)

And I found a picture where she looks really pretty :D

I just think some of her lines in the show are absolutely hysterical ..|

I know this is farfetched, but I would love for one of the jocks (don't remember his name) who picks on everyone to come out of the closet and become a power couple w/ Kurt. I can just imagine a guy being that closeted that he feels he has to act that macho all the time.

What is farfetched about that? A lot of the time those who are homophiobic turn out to be gay or those who pick on others have a hard time themselves.

I know Puck and Finn get a lot of attention, but what does everyone thing of the the guy that earlier in the season was dubbed "Other Asian"? I think he's kinda cute.

Harry Shum Jr. He's very cute.

I am so excited for Kurt to get his boyfriend next season! I'm kind of thinking he'll be a new kid who joins Glee Club.
