Glenn Beck is 'Losing It Before Our Eyes" - Joe Scarborough

I love how Fox is always defended by the ratings argument. Ratings and popularity have NEVER been an indicator of quality, substance or sanity.

Back in school, I found the most popular guys were often the biggest assholes.

Except for me, of course. :-)

fallen

not sure i get ur deal here

laika correctly pointed out that beck (in the afternoon) out performs from a ratings perspective rachel maddow and lawrence o'donnell (who both appear in primetime)

point being that glenn is pretty popular despite his losing it

how is that left wing hate???

meanwhile, several of thre right wing haters point out that people who watch beck are old and stupid

and another says left leaning liberals are smarter and watch more things

and u complain about laika?

and suggest ur a centrist?

perhaps u should reread this thread and try again

Yet another virtually incomprehensible finger wagging post where you are more concerned about the politics of the board than you are with the topic at hand.

Interesting how the subject of the thread was Beck just losing it, but you aren't out there playing mod when Laika resorted to his usual strategy of pulling out his sad and irrelevant argument about cable audience share.

Chance, what don't you "get" about Fallen's post?

Did you miss the part where Laika described Maddow and O'Donnell "pathetic" and "hate mongers"? Or his imagined competition to "beat" Glenn Beck? You quoted Laika's post yourself, I hope you didn't miss it. Maybe you might take heart to your own admonishment?

But I do agree with you on one thing, Glenn Beck is pretty popular. The beliefs that the Earth is flat and the Sun revolves around the Earth were pretty popular too.

maddow and o'donnell are far left "journalists" - and on a nightly basis they are taking pot shots at repubs/tea party/dems - it's the format

i personally don't think generally they are "lose it" like Beck - although O'Donnell lately with his "defense" against any comments directed towards the first lady often seems like hs's losing it

my point is there is a great similarity between fox and msnbc - polar opposites - and as it relates to name calling, msnbc does it for more 1/2 hours

so it's ok to call beck xyz but not ok to call maddow and odonnell?

tide comes in - tide goes out

hardly incomprehensible

perhaps u don't agree

and i love how u try to stick with such a narrow definition of "how beck was losing it"
'
as if one cannot do anyting other than

yes
no

and ur diddies about beck's viewers was priceless

if ur hater of much of the general population

is this a finger wag?

u think ur the shit
and that people who don't think like u are .......... shit
grow up
it's not too late

I rest my case.

BTW. Does anyone know what a diddy is?

I know it is an alt. term for 'titty' and I know it is an informal proper noun for a 'sean puffy combs'....I know it is an old English informal noun for for 'fool' and a diminutive informal adjective for 'little' but for the life of me, I'd never before known an adequately educated person to use the plural of this term as a noun in a sentence fragment with a singular past tense verb.

It must hurt one's finger to jab so angrily at the keypad on a cellphone when one is throwing a twitter tantrum.

You forgot Ed Schultz. I don't believe that any of these MSNBC "leftists" ever claimed to be journalists. At least they don't make it a practice of doing Howard Beale impersonations. When I posted the Scarborough clip, my intention was that it stand on its own merit.

Compare and contrast:

At least Glenn Beck is "restoring honor to America". :rotflmao:

Well, should I apologize? I guess I missed your point on the similarity between Fox and MSNBC. Your post sounded more like a condescending scolding to theFallenGod rather than a comparison between Fox and MSNBC. That's what it really was, right?

I don't agree with you on this "point" that Fox and MSNBC are similar. Fox is outrageous, deceptive, and unjust, yet gloats about it's "fair and balanced" nature. Whatever faults you might find with MSNBC they seem shallow in this comparison.

I don't know about O'Donnell, but Rachel Maddow has very clearly stated that her self-titled/eponymous TV show is opinion, editorial, and criticism.

I think that the moment Roger Ailes and Glenn Beck saw the movie, they realized that they could pull off the greatest cynical display of batshit crazy imaginable.

But will Roger force Glenn to fall on his sword or put a gun up his nose at some point to ensure audience share?

Bullshit...

Maddow calls the president out on shit all the time, as recently as last night.

Its gotten to the point with you conservatives that if anyone dares talk about their recious FOX news, they knee jerk scream about ratings and MSNBC.

neither of those two things have ANYTHING to do with BECKS mental state.

Your arguments reveal your bias.

^ I think you mean 'retcheous', not 'recious'.

no scold just confusion

giving laika shit on posts where others were much worse seemed unusual for one who called themselves a "centrist"

we'll have to agree to disagree

maddow/schultz/odonnell/matthews and previously olbermann might be better dressed/coiffed than beck

but they spew nonetheless

i like rachel - some nights more than others - and she is indeed intelligent

and not crazy

as beck maybe

but the point remains

they are all howard beals really

i would argue that fox does have news on their air, while msnbc has none

LOL

she calls out Pres. once in a while - kudos to her for that - once in a while

she hates on repubs every night

save for the 2 wyoming ladies the other night who are opposing the anti abortion legislation in their state

again, your desire to narrow the debate to beck's mental state is laughable

and extreme partisanship

but for the record i think he's 1/2 nuts

i would argue that fox does have news on their air, while msnbc has none

you could try to argue that. It would be pretty stupid of you. FOX is as shady and propagandist as they come. Hitler would be jealous that he didn't think it up.

Lets let Lewis black take a whack at it....

The Republicans do so much more to hate. For starters, they indulge in hate, and that's worth hating. Then they do hateful things, and that's worth hating. Their financial notions for the country are destructive, and that's hateful.

u know what's sad??

people who say all xyy are this or that

all repubs are not xyz

some repubs are

some dems are

etc.
