GOP House leadership makes it clear that gay equality is NOT tolerated in their party

1, Any road that carries U.S. mail comes under the authority of the federal government -- that's the constitutional position on roads.

2. A job of maintaining highways that costs drivers multiple billions a year in repairs to their vehicles is not by any stretch of the imagination "good enough".

3. The people emphasizing the problem are engineers. Their party affiliation is irrelevant.

BTW, being in New Zealand is irrelevant to the matter: 100% of the U.S. population lives over a thousand miles from a large portion of the transportation infrastructure problems and will never experience those, That doesn't disqualify them from reading reports and being aware of the facts -- so distance and lack of using the structures in question doesn't disqualify people overseas, either.

Please cite the constitutional provision the gives the federal government of all roads that carry the mail.
Of course the engineers want the taxpayers to spend a trillion so on construction; they stand to become very rich from it.

Thank you for demonstrating both your ignorance of the Constitution and of economics.

As an alleged attorney, you should know how to google "Constitution roads" and discover that Congress is authorized to build roads for the movement of the mail.

And as an adult human being, you should be aware that engineers are salaried professionals, and not even those who end up actually getting hired for highway jobs will ever get "very rich" from their jobs. Further, as an alleged college graduate, you should be away that infrastructure repair doesn't require many engineers, if any -- the designs are already in existence and just need to be matched, or in some cases software run and its specifications followed.

I have to say that it's nice of the mods to allow this example of just how unaware of the real world some people are to continue -- it's a useful reminder of the challenges we face in running a country, i.e. that so many are so ignorant of so much... and are allowed to vote.

No, no. You claimed that "any road that carries U.S. Mail comes under the authority of the federal government... '. That of course is not true. When challenged, you fall back on the provision that Congress can build postal roads. That of course is not what you claimed--for shame, for shame--nor is it what the democrats want untold billions for. The big money will go to large engineering forms who are counting on mega bucks as the democrats are counting on mega contributions.
And no, the proposals are not limited to repairing infrastructure, but largely for building new.

Any road that carries mail is a postal road -- I didn't "fall back" on anything, just read what the words mean.

Very little of such money would go to engineering firms at all. A huge amount of it would go to small local companies, since the majority of what is needed for our highways consists of small local jobs -- big to the business owners, but small on the scale of things. Sure, a fair portion would go to large construction firms, but it takes large firms to handle such projects as an interstate bridge over the Mississippi or a rebuild of an interstate section.

But the stimulus showed that most of the work would go to small companies, because even on that limited scale there weren't enough large companies to cover the work; in my county, every company that knew how to grade a hill, dump and compact rock, etc. right up to putting down paving was busy. If we had spent a trillion on our country instead of wasting it blowing up someone else's, there wouldn't have been enough skilled companies in the country to do all the work, and small businesses doing it or supporting it would have flourished. As a result, our economy would be flourishing.

Your only argument boils down to opposing anything that might benefit Democrats. Well, the mere existence of the United States benefits Democrats, so one suspects that what you object to is the country itself, probably for the reason that you aren't in charge. But that's the very same complaint millions of other people -- some of them Democrats -- have, so get used to it, or run for office, or at least sound off to your congresscritters.

You imagine from New Zealand that states are falling Part?lol, lol
Maintenance of the infrastructure is the Constitutional responsibility of the states (except the interstate) and they do a good enough job. Dems exaggerate the problem because the want to shovel taxpayers money to demacrats.

We also have elderly people holed up in their houses thinking they shouldn't be paying for things they don't use.

They also demand responsibility when something like a bridge fails, without recognising that whenever they vote down proposals to maintain infrastructure, they're part of the cause.
Some are also selfish enough to be offended when they see gays, immigrants or non-white people gainfully employed in any way.

It's pretty evident when you're in the states where these people dwell. There's nothing exceptional about people like you.

You might want to check out the condition of earthen levies. Many are a rain drop away from failing. Who gives a shit? Not Republicans. They're to busy sucking Koch dick.

And now the Repukes in the House are cutting housing for Active Duty SERVICE PERSONNEL. Every single time I hear a repuke say that they support the troops, I want to ram a ton of horse shit down their throats.

I am sorry New Zealand has elderly people holed up, but that is not relevant here.

I'm saying they're like you.
You and your kind are quite common around the world. Xenophobic, racist, transphobic, hostile towards the common wealth. You'd all get on well together.
You're also a toxic segment of the population who are easily manipulated.

Fear of the people who live on the other side of the hill who appear to be different, is a dread filled manifestation of ones unwillingness to emerge from ones self excavated cave isolated from reality.

The shadow self is an unforgiving master until one emerges into the light of day, when reality reveals how little one learns hiding from life.

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.~Plato

You always blame me, but it is usually someone else. As the only conservative/Republican in a forum of lockstep liberals, any meaningful discussion or disagreement is likely to depend upon what I say.

'democrats' disagree with everything liberals say too because to them, their critiques of the democratic establishment are just 'republican talking points'. they're tone deaf insiders

...and another Evanrick post that contributes nothing to the topic being discussed.....

:rotflmao: NOTHING like some massive hypocrisy on a Thursday afternoon.

You blame immigrants for everything.
Poor you being the lone tea party attendee. Does that mean everyone's supposed to start agreeing with you?

Meanwhile, contractors who are receiving federal funds can freely discriminate against gay and lesbian workers, and get a wink and a nudge and a pat on the back from the Republican party.

Nonsense. Most of my posts go right to the core of the subject with arguments that include actual citations from legitimate sources, unlike the citation free Stormfront Sturm und drang that you Breitbarf out in thread after thread.

I only call you and Evanrick you because of your mindless rants, intellectually sloppy arguments and love of (in your case), always dragging immigrants into every thread and (in Evanrick's case) of making everything about his misogynist Hillary hate.

This itself is an exercise is playing the man, not the ball.
Care to discuss why federal funds should profit law breakers?

This could be like many conservative websites. They block your account and IP if you dare stroll away from acceptable talking points.
