GOProud NOT invited to CPAC 2012

^ I guess she's just like the most recent GOProud poster cunt, Andy Coulter, eh?

Always start your mornings with a little misogyny? ;)

But by expressing her own opinion on homosexuality, she actually subjectified homosexuality in a negative light and in fact, probably helped give legislators and jurists the 'moral' arguments they felt they needed to drag their heels on removing the statutes.

Oh right, so AYN RAND was actually a roadblock towards the decriminalization of homosexuality! That's one I've yet to hear.

But that's PURE speculation for which you have absolutely no proof of. Can you provide any evidence that one single person's anti-gay rights views were swayed by her writing (writing that if they looked at would tell them to SUPPORT gay rights)? Of course you can't.

She didn't advocate for LGBT rights.

Wait, so by writing against anti-gay legislation she didn't advocate LGBT rights? See how you contradict yourself? That's what happens when you spin things relentlessly.

Oh, and please show me where she railed against the gay rights movement.

So, Ayn Rand was actually pro-gay rights, for a straight person of the 1950s-70s era. During Ayn Rand's time, homosexuality was still classified as a mental disorder in the DSM, and all states had laws against consensual sex between two men.

Wait, so by writing against anti-gay legislation she didn't advocate LGBT rights? See how you contradict yourself? That's what happens when you spin things relentlessly.

The fact that one does not believe people should be jailed for engaging in homosexual acts does not make them pro-gay rights. None of the current crop of Republican presidential candidates advocates jailing people who have gay sex. That does not make them pro-gay rights.

As I said, you apparently just can't read.

In 1971, Rand published The New Left, a collection of essays that attacked feminism and the sexual liberation movements, including the gay rights movement. Rand called them "hideous" for their demand for what she considered "special privileges" from the government.

And you are very young so you don't understand that she never lobbied for pro-gay legislation.

She just said at a lecture that she supported the decriminalization of homosexuality....way, way, different than being a crusader for gay rights. It wasn't legislation she was crusading against, it was the sodomy laws on the books of many of the states at the time. Which, as I pointed out, also affected heterosexuals as well.

A hagiography by someone such as you, who wasn't alive during the 70's and has read virtually nothing as far as I can tell, is not likely to be an accurate assessment of this hypocritical woman who didn't even appreciate the irony of her collectivized approach to objectivism.

My God.

I continue to despair.

No Mr. Know It All, she did not call gays "hideous." Had you actually read the book, The New Left, you would've known that. She was talking about FEMINISTS. This is what happens when you get your "facts" from Wikipedia. Next time do some actual research.

The sex views professed by Women's Lib are so hideous that they cannot be discussed - at least, not by me to regard man as an enemy

If Rand were alive today, she would most certainly support gay marriage.

WRONG! "IF" (a huge if, by the way) Ayn was alive today she would merely be against the government getting in the middle of a religious ceremony. Just because one is against something, doesn't make the "SUPPORT" something.

Her antipathy (which is the opposite of sympathy) towards the state intervening would be equal for str8 marriage, gay marriage, polygamy, etc... And therein lies the hypocrisy of your belief system "Laika". Gay marriage hasn't been considered equal in the US, and Ayn would do nothing to encourage that along, but merely be a party that shrugs her shoulders and says "meh, don't care" when asked about it. She would have no sympathy for gay marriage or gay people. That is far from "SUPPORT" as you hypocritically proclaim.

Wanna try again?

laika

you can here her express in her own vioce, what Molten has just said right here

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxtHof4iNB4[/ame]

you cannot argue with her own words in her own voice.

So you're saying she's in the same boat as most members of the Democratic party; object to it on moral grounds, but believe they're entitled to the same rights as everyone else.

Oh Christ in a cracker.

You are using a revisionist site as your hagiographic source???

I actually knew someone who heard Rand speak back in the old, old days when all your brothers and sisters were just ending up in your dad's kleenex, that she found homosexuality personally repugnant.

No one said that she said that gays were hideous. You apparently still can't read and comprehend a sentence can you?

But you can hear her say in the clip provided that she did not regard it as morally acceptable.

I accept your apology.

You can slink away now.

BTW, thanks for finding that clip Pirate.

The GOProud needs to just give up and become GONOTProud. You will get nowhere with the GOP.

I direct you to post #135

BTW, you used "hagiography" already. Find another big word to make yourself look like an intellectual.

You think hagiography is a "big word"? Your as bad as the morons who were apoplectic over the use of 'ilk'.

I suggest completing the NYT crossword puzzle daily. It helps expand your vocabulary. ..|

Bingo.

Rand advocated against criminalization of homosexual acts because objectivism does not support the criminalization of victimless acts. She had no more support for homosexual rights than I do for murder.

Laika, that's pretty cheap even for you -- that doesn't say anything about Rand at all. It's like claiming to say what Winston Churchill's view on some topic was by referencing a document written by some clerk in the British Admiralty after Churchill died.

But I want to marry a wealthy White man........

.

Why does he have to be " white", I have seen damn fine indian american guys same with asian americans and they are well off as well.

You asked us in another topic if we " would date an indian guy " , my question to you is, " would you date another indian guy?"

But I want to marry a wealthy White man........

I want that kind of life though..........I want to serve & take care of my man.......& raise the children, do the shopping, clean the house, run the errands, throw dinner parties, etc etc.

Bad news, Blanche. Your boy Mitt Romney signed the NOM pledge against gay marriage. Still hope he becomes president?

Oh Jayqueer will still probably be right behind Romney, catching air from the Great White Hope's fundament.

There are dark days ahead for homosexuals in America.

Obama will do nothing about gay marriage after his defeat on the debt ceiling even if he wanted to, and will not be around after 2012 to worry about it.....and the Dude from the fringe wacko wing of the equivalent of Christian Scientology will certainly not want to allow homos to be married. Christ. Who knows what would follow. Polygamy?
