GOProud NOT invited to CPAC 2012

. . .
Everyone faces different challenges in life. What might come easily for one person, might be extremely difficult for another.

. . .
Please don't judge.

I think you should take your own advice.

This might be too abstract for some to comprehend: force yourselves.

THE AMERICAN DREAM:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SADPuUYF_4I

Sorry, she forgot the SUV. !oops!

I grew up hearing that song on the radio, done by a country-western singer.
What's hilarious is that there was a creek on the hillside above our house, that had lots of clay -- and one day we built a 'ticky-tacky' village.....

I'm just disheartened right now. This is a major blow.....

But I still hold many conservative beliefs, and I don't agree with a lot of the platforms of the Democratic Party. I don't support higher taxes, I don't support abortion, and I don't support affirmative action, nor do I support granting amnesty to illegal immigrants. I'm also a strong believer in the 2nd amendment.

I'm just a really traditional kind of person. I want to marry a man & raise a family in the suburbs. I don't want to live in a studio apartment for the rest of my life -- I want a cute house with a garage, white picket fence and big green yard. I'm not a "San Francisco" kind of person. I don't need to be a "gay neighborhood" with rainbow flags flying everywhere.

I just don't know where I fit in anymore. I don't agree with most of the platforms of the Democratic Party, but the anti-gay nature of the Republican Party is a turn-off as well. :(

But I want to live in White-bread American suburbia. That's what I've known my entire life, growing up in Orange County, California. It's safe, clean, and nice friendly place. I like this kind of lifestyle..........just last month, for the 4th of July, we had a neighborhood potluck BBQ. I baked chocolate chip cookies for the whole neighborhood.......

I don't understand how so many gay men want to live in the dirty, crowded city, surrounded by drug users, illegal immigrants, pickpockets, hookers, prostitutes, thieves, and the entire underworld of society. I would be so scared if I had to live in San Francisco....

And then so many gay men are single, into their older years. How will you live as an old gay man, without a partner or husband? Isn't it very lonely & scary? That's why I don't understand why so many gay men just look for sex, and jump from man-to-man. Isn't it better to only be with one man for your life, and dedicate your lives to serving each other?

I guess I'm just very traditional, but I don't see anything wrong with being a "gay Stepford wife" from the suburbs.......

I could have quoted others, but this gives the idea.

JayQueer, your problem is that you're sheltered and insecure, and as a result you're immature and, on top of it, terrified of life. Being terrified of life where you are is perfectly reasonable -- you've never met it.

About the best thing that could possibly happen to you right now is for you to get into some legal trouble you could escape only by joining the Peace Corps and getting sent off to help others in a country you neither can stand nor understand. I don't think much less would serve to shatter your dreamland, out-of-touch, unrealistic vision of "life".

And unless that vision gets shattered and you're forced to grapple with what life really is, the rest of us had better hope you never get into any position of responsibility, because you'll be making decisions based on fantasy, not reality. And for you, unless it gets shattered so you have to learn and understand and grow up, your life will always be shallow, always thinking things should be better, always insecure, always longing for things that aren't real.

Get out of the gated neighborhood. Go off to university someplace where you'll have to rub shoulders with people there purely on scholarships, where you'll have to see a grimy city some days. Why? Because life isn't a matter of the circumstances and trappings surrounding you, but of energy and joy from within that refuse to be frightened or intimidated or stymied by surroundings and events out of one's control.

Back to the topic....

I think we all owe GOProud a hurrah of thanks: thanks to them, the "conservative" movement in the country has had to state, in not so many words, that they really are bigots.

Now, what GOProud should do is start a fund for conservative candidates who will support gay rights -- and have a record to prove it. They shouldn't give a dime to any other cause until they're not only invited back to CPAC but received with a standing ovation.

Meanwhile, they should all vote Libertarian.

I'm so depressed right now.........this all just so hard..........my head hurts so bad :(

I can't take this anymore..........you guys win.

BTW, I saw a slender guy from India in the store today -- he was HAWT!

Well good for you. Unfortunately, I'm really fat........if I can get to be an "average" body size, then that will be an improvement for me. But I don't know if it's healthy for me to keep on comparing myself to twink-ish, slender guys because it's likely I will never have that figure.

I didn't think JUB was about winning and losing, unless that is your wish.

Try reading Atlas Shrugged. That should invigorate you. Paul Ryan's "bible". By the way, you're not invited to the party. :help:

If that doesn't work, you might wish to consider becoming JUB's mascot!.

Don't knock the suburbs just because you don't live there. If anything, the suburbs are where "real Americans" come from, given that the majority of Americans now live in the suburbs of major cities. Most Americans don't want to live in an apartment for the rest of their life -- they want to aspire to the "American dream" of having their own detached, single-family house on their own piece of land. The suburbs are where most of America's best public schools are and where most Americans want to raise their children.

I'm sorry if I don't want to raise my children next to a gay bar or a bathhouse, or next to giant billboards for "Aussie Bum" underwear & scantily-clad men. Family values are important to me -- I don't want my kids seeing BDSM.

I want to drive an SUV so I can haul the groceries from Wal-Mart, and take my kids to after-school tutoring, soccer practice and piano lessons. I want to be at home cooking dinner, with the apple pie in the oven.........so I can greet my husband when he comes home from work, with a big hug & a kiss.........and serve my family a wholesome American meal at the dinner table.

It would be my duty to do my husband's laundry, and when he's "watching the big game" on TV.........of course, I would get him his favorite beer....

I know deep down........even though I'm a gay man.........I would make the perfect "Christian housewife" for the right man ........ ;)

JayQueer, you should read The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan. The life you aspire too is the life that sparked the women's movement. Should you achieve your ideal at some point in life, by the time the kids are in high school, you'll be washing the valium down with vodka. When they're in college, you'll be dumped by your husband, alone, fat and dull.

I grew up in one of those white bread suburbs

I guess keeping kids sheltered in a gated community so that they can stuff themselves with garbage and not do any real work or get exercise has a way of coming back to bite the fat, rich young Americans in their ass.

Maybe to learn three lessons, they should do this.

1. Go to bed hungry at least one night every week. They would realize what it feels like for millions of people around the world who do it every day.

2. Move their fat asses out of the gated compound and get an actual job. Preferably doing something that involves hard labour or grinding, repetive low pay work.

3. Move their fat asses out of the compound and volunteer somewhere so that they can contribute something of value to their larger community. And that doesn't mean trolling websites for the local RNC campaign office.

Frankly I could care less about grande body size or the egocentric and bizarre worldview that some homos have. It must be really nice to never have been challenged for the first 25-30 years of life, but it must be a huge jolt to find out that everything that one stands for is considered false and empty by a lot of adults who have a much richer and more complex and generous perspective on what it means to be a part of the big world.

As Chris says, read Ayn Rand. She'll cheer you up. Just don't ever stop to think that it was Rand who inspired the deregulation of the financial industry to the point where it broke the world in 2008. Just don't think about this.

It will really make your head hurt.

By the way, we keep our pigs in a gated compound and just feed them scraps and mash to fatten them up for market. It is the most amazing thing. They wallow in mud and have no problem sitting in their own stinking shit without noticing it.

And finally, could you please learn to focus on CE&P here. Please? Frankly your issues with comparing yourself to twinks or constantly going on about the white guys you've blown is irrelevant to any topic being discussed in this forum and belongs over in CO&R.

Not to mention that Ayn Rand ended up alone, depressed, bitter, and a raging alcoholic when she died. Her philosophy didn't even make her happy, content, or fulfilled. But hey, at her funeral she had a 6 ft floral arrangement in the shape of a $ sign and the middle class crushing, Alan Greenspan in attendance.

Just like la Saliva, whose fave movie on his Facebook page is Atlas Shrugged, is doomed to end up. Depressed. Alone. Alcoholic.

Not the centre of attention.

And even if he hangs onto his money, he'll learn that it isn't good company.

That's ironic that you mentioned that movie, because my first sexual experience was with a White married man from our gated community. He was really handsome -- late 40s, dark brown hair, well built, 6'2", 200 pounds........I gave him a blowjob inside his BMW, at a local park.

I didn't know that he was a member of my dad's Republican club until I saw him at the Christmas potluck a couple years ago. We both tried to pretend like we didn't know each other.......it was awkward.......

So, out of interest, were you friends with his kids? He WAS married, right?

Here's the great dilemma for you: the very life to which you aspire (the picket fence, the blissful and idyllic life in the suburbs with your partner-for-life) probably doesn't exist. You know all those TV shows that you grew up with? They were TV shows, not reality.

You seek a fantasy existence, and yet admit you have participated in the exact opposite: blowing some dude who likes getting his cock sucked by a teenager before heading home to the wife and kids.

Not that there's anything wrong with that!™

But here's the thing. You aspire to some idyllic fantasy existence that YOUR OWN EXPERIENCES PROVE are probably unrealistic. Real life is not like TV. People are complex and ever-changing, they are liars and cheats and amazing and clever and honest and loving and beautiful and evil and crazy and horrible and awesome.

Ten years from now, you will look back and laugh at the things you thought were important. The experiences of the real world will change you, and more than likely you will be a better person for it.

So my point? Don't get too entrenched in the beliefs and ideologies that you've learned in your first 20 years of life. Thy are inevitably shaped and controlled by your guardians and their own values.

The next few years will bring you life experience that will shape you for the rest of your life. Don't get bogged down in what you THINK is life. Go out and discover life for yourself. It will surprise you. (*8*)

And you might even like San Francisco. :-)

Not to mention that Ayn Rand ended up alone, depressed, bitter, and a raging alcoholic when she died. Her philosophy didn't even make her happy, content, or fulfilled.

Were you her personal biographer?

Because none of that is even true.

Oh, and by the way, Rand wasn't a drinker. So your "raging alcoholic" claim is a blatant lie.

^I believe that it was Rand's husband who she drove to drink with her utterly ubermenschen objectivism.

But hey there Laika.

Were you there?

Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Rand developed and promoted her Objectivist philosophy through her nonfiction works and by giving talks to students at institutions such as Yale University, Princeton University, Columbia University,[64] Harvard University and MIT.[65] She received an honorary doctorate from Lewis & Clark College in 1963.[66] She also began delivering annual lectures at the Ford Hall Forum, responding afterwards in her famously spirited form to questions from the audience.[67] During these speeches and Q&A sessions, she often took controversial stances on political and social issues of the day. These included supporting abortion rights,[68] opposing the Vietnam War and the military draft (but condemning many draft dodgers as "bums"),[69] supporting Israel in the Arab-Israeli War of 1973 as "civilized men fighting savages",[70] saying European colonists had the right to take land from American Indians,[71] and calling homosexuality "immoral" and "disgusting", while also advocating the repeal of all laws against it.[72] She also endorsed several Republican candidates for President of the United States, most strongly Barry Goldwater in 1964, whose candidacy she promoted in several articles for The Objectivist Newsletter.[73]

So she would have found you repugnant.

But I see the old girl was stupid enough to smoke and get lung cancer too.

Serves her right for this:

Rand testified as a "friendly witness" before the United States House Un-American Activities Committee.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayn_Rand

Don't tell me though that you are one of the objectivists who whacks off to The Fountainhead?

Rareboy, you forgot to finish reading the end of that sentence.

"During these speeches and Q&A sessions, she often took controversial stances on political and social issues of the day. These included supporting abortion rights,[68] opposing the Vietnam War and the military draft (but condemning many draft dodgers as "bums"),[69] supporting Israel in the Arab-Israeli War of 1973 as "civilized men fighting savages",[70] saying European colonists had the right to take land from American Indians,[71] and calling homosexuality "immoral" and "disgusting", while also advocating the repeal of all laws against it."

So, Ayn Rand was actually pro-gay rights, for a straight person of the 1950s-70s era. During Ayn Rand's time, homosexuality was still classified as a mental disorder in the DSM, and all states had laws against consensual sex between two men. If Ayn Rand was alive today, she probably wouldn't be a fan of the current Republican party either -- she was an atheist and wouldn't have bought into the "Religious Right". If anything, Ayn Rand would have been a libertarian by today's standards. If she was living today, she would probably support same-sex marriage, or at the very least, she would be adamantly opposed to amending the constitution to prohibit same-sex couples from marrying.

You also criticize her "for being stupid enough to get lung cancer," but you also forget that it was socially fashionable & extremely common for people to smoke in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Most people didn't know smoking cigarettes would cause lung cancer -- and even doctors endorsed Philip Morris cigarettes on TV commercials back then.

You criticize people like me for being narrow-minded, but you want to call anyone "stupid" who you doesn't agree with your world view.

If SHE were alive today, she would dedicate herself to the destruction of the tea party and she would fight the current manifestation of the GOP and its infestation of the baggers.
