Any JUB republicans want to explain Governor Chris Christie vetoing gay marriage in New Jersey? Not only is he going against history and people's civil rights, he's going against his own legislature to do this injustice.

But he wants to be president one day, and he will never win the GOP nom without displaying his gate hate cred.

Re: Governor Fat Ass is Waiting to Veto Gay Marriage Legislation

I heard the press conference where he told reporters that the State Legislature was purely involved in "theatre" when they SHOULD be focused on jobs and the economy...

This bill was NUMBER 1 on BOTH the Assembly and Senate's schedule -- presumably meaning that THEY thought it was IMPORTANT...

The press conference made him sound quite repulsive...

That is TWO senses against him -- there are only 3 left -- and "touch" is pretty sketchy...

:(:(:(

I guess he stuck between a rock and hard place and in his case, neither the rock or hard place is safe. How long does he has until he decides? If he does veto the bill, he will most likely appear on a VP ticket of Mitt, and if he doesn't, he can forget being on any Rep ticket.

Pretty much the same cast of characters runs the legislature as they did two years ago when this came up. The difference was future ex-con Jon Corzine promised to sign it. The Senate failed to pass it. Now that they know it'll be vetoed they've grown some balls and passed it. They'll make a half hearted attempt at an override and that will be that.

SCOTUS will have the final say in about a year or so. That's where we'll win it all.

Unfortunately I think there's very little chance the court is ready to do a Lawrence vs Texas on gay marriage, when so few states have passed it so far.

Maybe. They could craft a narrow decision that applies only to states where rights were protected and then the protection taken away. Of course, that itself would mean eventual victory.

If it's a broad win, be ready for riots.

It looks like two President Obamas could fit in one pair of Gov Christie's pants.

It's puzzling how proactive he is when shooting down legislative items, but how lackadaisical he is when it comes to slimming down or eating less.

Talk to any mental health expert and they will tell you that fat people have mental health issues which is why they eat as much as they do. I wonder what demons Christie is battling.

^Well...

I used to travel to New Jersey once a month to oversee the accounting at a facility we had up there...

The Deli's are AWESOME!!! ..|

SERIOUSLY... :(

I ACTUALLY GAINED 5lbs EVERY SINGLE TRIP!!!

Then had to lose it over the 3 week period before traveling back up that way...

I'm NOT kidding...

:(:(:(

What was so good about the delis? The beef pastrami? Head cheese. Mmmmh. That's good.

Re: Governor Fat Ass is Waiting to Veto Gay Marriage Legislation

I think I read that he would veto the bill and force a public vote on it. It helps him keep his republican creds and claiming it's the will of the people if it passes.

Re: Governor Fat Ass is Waiting to Veto Gay Marriage Legislation

and what does his weight have to do with the discussion?

The repubs make being gay an issue, but for some reason you defend ass fatness.?

Re: Governor Fat Ass is Waiting to Veto Gay Marriage Legislation

I think it was the bread mostly...

:lol::lol::lol:

The Governor should try to keep it down to one loaf per day. Seriously, he's going to explode

… I don't really see what discussing his weight adds to the topic of whether or not gay marriage should be legal.

It’s an example of presenting the topic for discussion along with a bouquet of poison ivy.

Maybe I should be more respectful to the bigot.

This is probably why we're still on our knees today. We have to be nice and respectful when we talk about people who make bigoted policies and campaign promises. *shakes my head*

I wonder how Negroes talked about Bull Connor back in the day when he used vigilante justice.

No. I don’t have a problem with you expressing feelings of disrespect for the man about whom you are complaining; however, you are using a generalized physical characteristic to cast repulsion upon him – rather than limiting your criticism to his behavior~ as pertains more specifically to his capacity as a public servant. It is little different from posting contempt for people of a certain race, age, religion, or sexual preference. [-X

*shakes my head*

Psst. There’s a smilie for that: :##:
