Oh the reason that black thing was wrapped around his neck was because he refused to be covered with the hood, so they just wrapped it around his neck. At that point you can clearly see the look of fear on his face that this was actually happening.

If not wanting to watch someone die makes me a pansy, then I guess I'll gladly accept that label.
 
after holding the hand of my best friend (who was a loving husband and father of two beautiful little girls) as he died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. I care very little for Saddams death, he got exactly what he deserved.

I've seen a good man die for no reason. Why should this bother me more than that?

I think the worst video I clicked on that I R-E-G-R-E-T-T-E-D big time was a be-heading...with a knife!!! The soldier was gasping for air and you can hear the air coming out of his trachea or something...it was very very bad.

News networks don't show the video because it would force people to change the channel if they didn't want to watch, offending those who have no wish to see someone die. Here, you are presented with the choice, and aren't forced to close the browser in order to avoid seeing it.

It is not a "crappy excuse".
 
Information and the technology that facilitates its rapid distribution cannot be restricted, its a rather quaint idea but still a little naive. :)

Actually I think the news channels are not showing it as to avoid any violent reactions to his death...they dont want to make it seem that the U.S. is happy that Saddam is dead.

They said Bush was sleeping at the time of the execution, which I dont even believe...I mean even though I had no personal connection to this really, it still kept me up a little and gave me the hee bee jee bees...and this is a guy(Bush) who wanted to finish what his father never did...and hes sleeping??? I doubt it..plus I bet he had like a direct feed to the hanging or something.

I've been a witness to death. And plenty of it. More than I care to admit. I've watched good friends of mine die and my mother as well.

I'm just saying that although I don't mind discussing subjects such as these, I don't particularly want to watch it actually happen.

That's my choice. Just as it's your choice to watch it.

Again, I'm not judging anyone here by their opinions or their choice to watch the video. I happen to CARE about everybody's opinion, which is why I'm in this thread in the first place. And I perfectly understand morbid curiosity. But it doesn't make me a judgmental asshole because I choose to avoid the graphics.

(not saying you or anyone else is calling me that, I'm just saying...)
 
Great post, Paul!!! I agree with you that the mods should not have allowed this when CNN and other global networks refused it. I have seen people here given points and even banned for minor infractions and a "slip of the tongue", yet this is allowed. Wow! I was given an infraction once for syaing that I thought that a person who supported and believed in capital punishment was sick. I did direct it specifically to the person who later said that he was not offended, yet a Mod gave me a point for saying it, and then we have this nonsense and sickness.

Are the inmates running the asylum here!?! Let's get a firm grip on spiritually, love and peace. Hating and killing has never and will never solve anything.

I saw that too and couldn't sleep for about 3 days. Every time I closed my eyes that's all I saw.

What gives you the right to impose your morality on me?

I do not insist that you click a link to see a dead man swinging - but I would like to reserve the right to access such information from a message board that I visit daily. :)
