I was on my way from Seattle to Minneapolis today -- and stopped by a Walmart to pick up some more lettuce, olives and salad dressing...

As I was walking out -- I noticed that they had their own Hair Salon -- right in between the pharmacy and the eye doctors (within the Walmart)...

I guess I don't go to Walmart's enough...

So -- I started thinking really fast (which is scary) and decided that if I ducked in -- and got a quick haircut (adult cuts were $15.95) -- I wouldn't need to do it when I got home (for $35 at a super nice place that requires large tips)... ..|

Oh -- and to preface this story -- I don't have that much hair left -- so it is usually PRETTY EASY for people that know how to do hair...

Well -- I walk in and can't immediately find anyone -- so I walk back behind the petition and come FACE to FACE with the lady that cuts the hair...

She was folding towels...

I look at her and IMMEDIATELY notice that she has the most HORRENDOUS HAIR POSSIBLE for someone in the industry... :help:

I don't even know how to describe it exactly -- It was just HORRIFYING!!!

And NOT in a HIP way -- more like my great aunt who is too busy staying at home eating snookerdiddles and watching The Price is Right...

I smiled and said "oh, I'm sorry" and made an EMERGENCY exit!!!

YIGHTZ!!!

Why would ANYONE that cut hair not care of their own???

:confused::confused::confused:

Why would anyone especially a gay man consider getting their har done at a walmart salon?

Ummmm -- because I drive a truck all over the country -- and can't park at other salons...

And I didn't want to waste my "home time"...

And to SAVE money...

And if I didn't drive a truck -- for CONVENIENCE (combining my grocery shopping with my Optometrists appointment, with my banking, with my pharmacy and my haircut )...

Just a FEW reasons...

:):):)

AWW- sorry about the pussy - really -
but - yeah - it is WALMART - AFTER ALL. . i have seriously lowered my expectations when i go there - if i find something i'm looking for - good - if i dont' - fuck it - i move on to somewhere else. but i can still pick up a couple of handsfull of CHICKEN WINGS ! yummy !! WE have the SUPERCENTER with the FULL grocery store...
Just one question : are snookerdiddles the dyslexic version of SNICKERDOODLES??

I wonder what your hair would look like if you did let her cut it!

I get teased about going to a fancy Salon and paying more than most, but I've been using the same stylist since 1994 and followed him to at least 4 locations.

I don't have that much left either, which makes a quality cut even more important in my opinion.

My sisters were shoping one day at Wal-mart along with both my nephews. Rather them going to the salon they usally went to they decided just to have my nphews hair cut at Wal-Mart. After seeing my nephews and their new hair cuts I was floored. It was GOD alful. Thier hair cuts were uneven and in some spots their were bald spots. Needlees to say Unlce Tommy wasn't to happy. When I asked them WHY? their excuse was they were saving a few dollars. I told them from now on when the nephews need their haircut I will take them and pay for it since they are too FUCKEN cheap.
I have heard other complaints about other people having their hair cut at Wal-Mart.
From what I had heard most of the stylist that work in their salons are fresh out of school. Rather there is any merit to this I don't know.

Our Walmart Supercenter has a Cost Cutters in it, and I was more than content with them for years. By and large, I've usually opted for a Great Clips, Fantastic Sams, Cost Cutters, etc. that was conveniently close to wherever I was living at the time, and very rarely have I been displeased.

One bad haircut is all it takes for me to take my patronage elsewhere! Well, the proprietor of said Cost Cutters was preoccupied with whatever and ignored my specific request for the hair cut (a 1/2-inch on the sides and back and longer on the top <approx. 1.5"> ) ... I was left with a half inch on the top! :grrr: Furiously, I went to the Fantastic Sam's four blocks down to have them fix it by giving me a military buzz / flat top cut. The stylist at F.S. didn't even charge me, so I gave her a $20 tip, and I've been going to her ever since!

FYI, the hair salons (also the eye places, nail places, food shops, etc) are all leased operations and not connected to Wally World with the exception of the rent they pay.

So if you get a haircut at Wally World, you are probably dealing with a rather large chain.

(I recently was at my local Wally World for a few things and out of the salon came a Cowboy Dude with a GREAT haircut. The tight jeans and boots didn't hurt. I actually followed him around the store for a little bit. !oops!)

In fact, many of the departments within the actual store are leased...Tire and Lube, Pharmacy, and in some locations, others.

Serves you right for shopping at a place like WalMart, IMO. You know what they are doing to the economy, right?

Naw girl I got that done @ Wally World. They did muh nails too.

THAT I believe! ..|

There really is a Nail Salon at the Wally World in my town. And I've seen some of the stuff they do. Just like yours!

A friend's daughter went and got her nails done at Wally World the day before her wedding. It was something.

Mind you, they also got the Wedding Cake there. :help:

But thank heavens, the Gift Registry was at that other Exclusive retailer, Targaaay.

Today the real world came to our little desert community. Our new Walmart opened at 7AM. We are now civilized.(!)(!). Didn't see a hair salon. I get mine cut in an old fashioned barbar shop. $10.
