  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Have you ever walked out of a movie 'cause it sucked?

In that case, I illegally dl all my movies...

And most suck.

If I dunt see sumone get gunned down in the first ten minutes, theres not much point watching it to the end......

And they ask why the art of good movie making is dying...](*,)

Yeah, Return of the King. OK so it was the second time I saw it, but knowing how interminably boring and ridiculous the last half hour was, I left. I was cool with the various liberties Jackson took with the movies, they were pretty awesome movie after all of books I didn't think it was even possible to film. But by cutting out the last part of the book he missed the entire point of the series. And he replaced it with something useless and boring. Blech.

Glad to hear someone had the same opinion of 300 as I did. Bech to that one as well.

I would have walked out of "Alexander", but I was asleep.

And I def would have walked out on "Rest Stop", but I only just recently saw it on DVD. For god's sake don't ever watch that movie it is awful.

lol - know the feeling. Slept through most is Eddie Murphy's "Harlem Nights"...

Fighter or whatever. It was a double flick with X Men's Wolverine.

We watched the part where the kid kicked ass in his first fight and that we were like "fuck it" and left.

Yes, I have. I walked out during "The Hangover", which is just a terrible movie. It was all of the anti-gay jokes that did it for me. All was not lost, however, as I walked into another movie that had just started and I enjoyed it immensely.

All of my friends told me that movie was brilliant and hilarious - if it has anti-gay jokes why on earth would they think I would find it funny?!

My friends don't know me one bit... :grrr:

Bruce Forsyth said today that we are living in an age of extraordinary political correctness (with the race card being thrown about all the time, sometimes legitimately) and I would agree although it seems that when the gay one is tossed around all political correctness goes out the window.

Did that make sense? !oops!

BOOOOOO. Harlem Nights was hilarious.

And I've never walked out on a movie. I paid to see the thing, I'm not going to throw my money away.

But I bootleg most of the movies I watch now anyway. Even so, I'll usually finish watching a crappy movie before I delete it.

Terminator Salvation and Max Payne, made me want to die.

I didn't even voluntarily go to Max Payne either.
My friend's name was Max, and he wanted to see Max Payne because they had the same name. I went to sleep.

Have I ever walked out of a movie because it sucked? You bet I have. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I do not remember any titles to these forgetable movies. At today's admission prices, to walk is a decision not to be taken lightly.

I wanted to walk out of this one movie *I forgot the name*, but my friend liked it (she likes all those crappy movies I hate). Whatever it was, it was pure crap.

Troy.

Myself and a couple others went to the bar, had some beers, then went back in.. It was good after that. (UU).

Daredevil

it was Friday night, we went to a bar instead and had a few beers

I only regret leaving my friend with the guy that had a crush on her...

it was very awkward for her

The only movie I ever walked out on was Reservoir Dogs.

Two movies I should have walked out on were The English Patientand The Sweet Hereafter.

I fell asleep during The Last Emperor.

I've only walked out a few times. Actually, Amadeus was one of them.

But as for starting a DVD and then not finishing it -- I do that all the time. For some reason I'm much more finicky at home than I am in a theater.

What about if i fell asleep because the movie was so bad? I fell asleep to Pocahontas when I was a kid. I also fell asleep to the notebook and the exorcism of emily rose. The only movie I walked out of was obsessed.

I watched the uncut X-rated version of Caligula which was playing in a theater in Georgetown, MD. I stayed as long as I could, but couldn't figure out the plot to save my life... But some of the images are still burned in my mind even after 30 years...

I still remember John Gielgud playing an old king, dying in a bathtub or something... I recall a man having his penis cut off, which was thrown to the floor and gobbled up by little bull dogs... There was a young couple who were dragged away from their honeymoon. Both the man and woman were raped by soldiers... The man was dragged to Caligula, played by Malcom McDowell, who fisted the man's ass while wearing a ring that had a huge stone on it... I recall an orgy scene that went on and on and on... and on... Endless faceless pussies and dicks... and I remember one woman sucking an enormous dick that looked like a French baguette, until it erupted... The movie was just under three hours, and I don't recall how long I stayed, but finally just couldn't take it anymore, got up and walked out...

That's the only film I ever walked out of. i thought it would be cool to see all the nudity, but the softcore got boring after a while. Then about three hours into the movie (it felt like two hours to me) Caligula is in his deathbed.. but it turns out he was just faking it to find out who waas conspiring against him. I was so disappointed it wasn't the end of the movie that I just had to walk out.

After watching zillions of movies, I've only walked out on 3: "Edward 11". an idiotic "artistic" historical film; "A. I.: Artificial Intelligence" which started out fine, but had an ending so long and interminable, I couldn't take it anymore, and "Natural Born Killers", my nominee for Worst Film Of All Time".

I never walked out of a movie before, I try to always give it the full length to redeem itself (even if it seems impossible).

However, I do remember seeing Titanic, the James Cameron version, when it came out and when the portrait scene with Rose came on and the brief nudity began.....a whole grip of older folks and their families (no children) walked out. I could not help but laugh and wonder how the hell anybody could be so afraid of the naked human body or even find a mild artistic reference to it's beauty so offensive that you have to walk out of the movie and as i heard from my friend at the booth later...DEMAND A REFUND! #-o

Never walked out.

Even the worst movie I ever seen always seems better at the movies.

I fell asleep at the cinema when I went to see Alien Nation! But I did walk out of High Fidelity... Bored the tits off of me !!!!!
