Have you ever walked out of a movie 'cause it sucked?

Being a cheapskate, I hardly ever go to movie theatres, and when I do I usually stay to the end - having paid for the damned thing. Several films I wish I had walked out of are "The Girl With The Pearl Earring" (long winded pretentious crap), "A Zed and Two Noughts" (ditto, probably the absolute worst film I've sat through from start to finish), and the latest "Star Trek" which I found too long, confusing, noisy, and boring.

When I was at school I joined the film club which showed classic films; and I think I sneaked out of every single one!

I was watching "Lost in Translation" at home on a DVD until I could stand it no longer and turned it off.

madagascar 2 at the imax theatre. went with a date. we were bored as hell. fell asleep at 1/2 way point. left after he nudged me awake. went back to hotel and fucked like rabbits.
 
^ I've never been a fan of movies on dates... it detracts from so many other possibilities... hehehe

but lost in translation was just boring. i only rented it cuz everyone said it was so good. but i honestly did not see what the hype was about. heck i even read the summary of it on wikipedia afterwards to see if i missed out on some crazy ending. apparently i didnt. :<

Amazing the amount of people who have singled out "Lost in Translation". A pretty good movie in my opinion. It is an "Art" movie, not entertainment per se, and most people aren't used to watching these. It is also a particularly understated movie that owes some influence to Japanese cinema, particularly
Ozu. I actually enjoyed it more the second time I watched it recently. My boyfriend, it was his first time, enjoyed it as well.

I was thinking about watching Lost In Translation, I get that it's an art film, so what.
And I remember now what it was.

That Hugh Jackman flop of a flop, aarrgh, my mind is repressing the horror, but it was about him in different time periods trying to find some cure for the disease his wife suffers from or some such nonsense

Yeah, that's what I thought too. I saw it on TV and thought it was pretty good.

I've only walked out of a theatre once and that was for a gay-themed film called Antarctica. Ugh. It was an hour into the movie and I was so bored but sitting in the back of the theatre, really nervous about leaving... but then i did since I couldn't stand it any longer.
 
I've never walked out of a movie, but I left during the intermission of a play once. I think it was "The Taming of the Shrew." The acting was terrible.
 
I would never walk out of a movie. To me, it seems really pretentious to do so. There's always a Mystery Science Theater 3000 comment to be made - even to oneself - to make a movie enjoyable.

The closest I ever came to walking out a movie was Transformers. That movie dragged on about 45 minutes too long and failed to keep my interest.
 
In the cut with Meg Ryan. Horrible movie

and just wanted it to go away, saw like 20min of it.

Got ticket exchanged for school of rock. That movie was

very good.

I should have walked on the aviator. Hated that movie so much

Oh yeah! The Fountain...I did actually enjoy that movie but it does dive pretty deep into the "human condition" and get a little mind bending at times. I thought it had great moments of revelation and expression though...but definitely not for everyone...
 
Yup, it was The Fountain. IDK, it was so left field from what I've seen of Jackman. I'm sure it is a great movie, and deep on levels I can only imagine, but I want explosions, and hookers, and motorcycles, and drug deals gone bad. I want fast and flashy effects, and pyrotechnics, and shallow plot devices.

I want to be entertained.

I sat through "In the Cut" just to see Mark Ruffalo naked.
 
Recently I rented Babel. That stupid thing was the most boring, confusing movie ever. I kept hoping it would get better but after an hour I turned if off.

True. There is something about hookers and explosions that make a great movie! lol Makes good use of that THX digital surround sound and HDTV..haha:D
