HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

I'd have to re-watch the finale to really analyze it, but enjoyed most everything.

Felt like the Maryann resolution was a lil forced, after a seasons worth of buildup?, wished there was a lil more WTF just happened here moments. The body in the dress laying on the ground was some good imagery though.

Wishes for season 3,
The actress to play Debbie Pelt, playing it up big.
More male nudity.
Maybe a lil more side story featuring the BonTemps citizens, Jane Bodehouse was ugly as sin to me but she played her role wonderfully. And the gossip girls in the bar at the end cracked me up.
And more male nudity.

Hey, there's a thought! How awesome would that be?

I enjoyed the finale enough, but I thought it suffered from some pacing issues. I agree, the Maryann stuff was resolved pretty early, leaving the rest of the episode a setup for season 3.

But I thought Maryann's death was spectacular!! That totally delivered. For a second, I was wondering why Bill wasn't saving Sookie, and for another second, I thought the god actually came. That was some clever stuff.

And I also agree with some of you guys; Eggs is nice to look at, but also boring. I'm glad he died.

Now I guess season 3 will deal with:
-Finding out who kidnapped Bill (probably Eric), and Sookie thinking that Bill bailed on her.
-Jessica going off the deep end.
-Sam meeting his real parents.
-Tara coping with Eggs' death.
-Jason coping with himself for killing Eggs.
-The Queen's V business.
-Sookie falling more in love with Eric.
-Werewolves!

I can't believe we have to wait another year!

Did I miss something? Where were the werewolves?

Good finale...although was a little disappointed. I think that I built it up too much. I hope that Eric is in the storyline more often next season.

It was epic! Loved it. I didn't want Eggs to die, poor Tara. I loved the way they wrapped up the storyline with Maryanne. The Vampire Queen was fierce when she pounced on Eric. I loved when she said "I can wear your fangs as earrings if I want to."

Can we settle on just "More naked Sam"?
It was good but awkward how he was standing to hide his penis when he changed from the bull. I'm not so anxious to see a penis but it looked so stupid. I dont get why American television is especially cable is so uptight about nudity. It's just a body part that everyone has. In most other industrialized countries actors are nude all the time and dont make a big deal out of it.

To those who have read the books Alan Ball said Andy will find out hes related to someone in town and now sam is looking for his family so are they related in the books?

No.

If you want me to tell you who he is related to, ask me in a PM.

But, there is a minut hint in the first season.

The use of Sookie's powers was pretty underwhelming and dumb. But I did like how they flashbacked to when Sookie tightened those chains with her mind from season 1. I always thought I was seeing things with that scene.

Well, the last episode was disappointing. Egg = lousy cliffhanger for second last episode.

I still like the Maryann subplot. Thanks to her and her antics, we got to see and learn more about the town characters.

Eric > Everyone Else in True Blood > FoTS assholes > Sewage > Bill

I am reading the books now. About to start book 4. I have to say it is a little bit of toss up which is better, the book or the tv series. Kinda liking the books because Eric has a big role in it, but didn't like the Godric storyline in the book.

Just finished watching the finale and it was alright. Eggs was such a waste of space, but I could have sworn he was going to kill himself out of guilt. I felt it was weird how everything went back to normal halfway through the episode. I love the queen and I hope she and Eric gets a bigger role next season. The Maryann storyline was the best to me, she will be missed.

Just finished watching the finale.

I am so very underwhelmed.

All that build up for what? Sookie has special glowy hands & Naked Sam stabs Maryann with his horn-hand? Really? It was that easy to kill her off? And Eggs just gets randomly shot up? The fuck? Quick resolution was quick. There was some real deus ex machina shit going on.

This entire season was pretty lackluster, so I guess the wackness was to be expected.

Minus Eric, Godric & the Queen, season 2 = lots of hype, mostly shit.

SHHH!!! You're not allowed to say that to True Blood fans. That's heresy.

btw, I completely agree with you.

I watched the season finale and it was kind of whack compared to the rest of the season.I usally wish the show would last 2 hours but I was looking at my clock Sunday wondering when this bull shit would be over.

The Queen mentioned to Bill that the only way to kill a maenad is to make her believe that the god has come for her. Her ultimate goal is to die at the hands (or horns) of her god.

And I wouldn't necessarily consider this task "easy" -- Sam had to get stabbed, Bill had to heal him, Sookie had to push down the meat tree. But you're right, it all happened quickly. However, it was planned, so I don't think deus ex machina was in play.

This season was awesome even without Eric, Godric, and the Queen (if not a little anticlimactic in the finale), and was leap and bounds above season 1!

Oh yeah .. by the way .. I thought Sam needed to "imprint" the animal before he could shift it.
Where did he suddenly get that huge ass of a bull?

Somewhere in the season, he did encounter Hoyt's mom.

^^^ Yeah you will be disappointed in a few other things as you read more from the other books, but it is interesting to read. I am on the 2nd to last book, and hoping that Alan Ball at least trys to incorporate the storyline from the books into the show.

Who knows what Ball is gonna do?

So I've been selected as a Neilson TV ratings household. (!)

Problem is, True Blood has been the only thing I've been watching, and now that the season is over I can't justify spending 125 bucks a month on cable. So yesterday I turn in the DVR, and downgrade to internet only.

Today, I got another envelope from Neilson, within is 2, count 'em 2 one dollar bills fresh from da mint. (!), no wait. :grrr: I ain't no 2dollar ho! Ugh, #-o

But really it's just all,

He said he is. He is going to use the books as a template and move up a lot of stuff from the books into future seasons. I don't he or the actors want to do 9 seasons.

Charlaine is happy with the way the show is going either way though.
