HBO's "True Blood" [merged]

I've lost interest in this show since like so many other cable shows lesbians can have lots of carpet fun but dudes getting on can only mean bad things, or is one giant tease. Alan Ball has none. Is he still with the show? Haven't watched in two years.

^ I agree, Sausy. We always get screwed, and not in a proper way, on these so called "Premium channel series" they could show a lot more guy on guy action and not always make it a joke or some ugly couple, rape, etc

So sad and pathetic they claim to be 'artists' and 'cutting edge' and 'no filters' but that's a lie. It's all about the money and their personal likes/dislikes.
They throw us a bone and then don't let us enjoy it. :p

The thing is Alan Ball is gay, and dropped the ball so many times not offending anyone it just frustrated the hell out of me. I just didn't think the wildly uneven and often camp laden storyline( I like some camp but much of it has been so over the top it would make Paul Lynde cringe if he were alive today, lol!)is worth my time since they won't get serious with the man on man action. Oh how I've wanted to see Jason(Ryan Kwanten) really getting into another dude and liking it(don't care if he was bi or gay as a character either)for instance.... I really wanted to like this show but I had enough teasing. I'm just sick of when ladies do each other it's erotic but when dudes even begin to play there's an angle, or there is a summary moralistic point... the closest they ever got it right was Jesus and Lafayette and shortly after they killed off Jesus it seemed same old crap. However, if they ever do a good man on man, someone PM or comment to me asap because lol I want to KNOW about it!

Alan Ball left after doing 5 seasons, so that's when things started to fall off and get crazy. To most, it really didn't matter. Many people thought that Ball pretty much screwed up the series after season 3. Even still, him leaving didn't improve things either.

The majority of America still hasn't gotten over its homophobia. I think the writers want to be edgy and "cutting edge", but they have a TV network breathing down their necks, telling them what they can and can't do. If anything, its the Network to blame and America for its hangups. It's gotten better, but we're still in the "transition phase" on the gay agenda, sorta speak. HBO is going to look out for its on self-interests, and that means making sure the ratings are high enough to turn out profit. The network still thinks that people don't want to see gays being affectionate, and to a certain extent that might be true. If America was more willing to look at gay sex without turning the channel then things would have been very different in regards to it's edginess so far as the story has progressed.

But honestly, I don't think all the edginess in the world would have made it any better than the first two seasons. Despite that, I still watch it though. I just wanna see how this train wreck is going to end :D !

was let down there was no ass shot from alcide in that scene with sookie.

Interesting make out between Eric and Jason.
Episode 2 last night (6/39/2014)

They killed of Tara and now Alcide I really want Jason to survive this farewell season.

I was so glad Mrs. Fortenberry finally got what's been coming to her since Season One!

My current theory is that everyone dies except one. Don't know who the one will be. If it's Sarah Newlin I will write a hate letter to the show runner every month as long as I live.

I think by the end of the show everyone will turn human some how.(jesica is not healing).
Which make season 6 useless if they turn human.
sookiee and bill will get back together.

I think that's pretty much guaranteed considering Alcide's situation. No messy breakup or need to introduce a love interest for the werewolf, or even a long drawn out love triangle between Sook, Bill, and Alcide. Eric's going to be looking for Sarah Newlin & I doubt many fans were expecting he and Sookie to be endgame anyway...

Nah, I've liked hating her and laughing at her all along. Sad to see her go. The way she said, "I'm gonna bake you a piiiie!"

I completely agree about Sarah (vomit) Newlin. Jason let her live last season but I hope Eric will take the witch out in this one.

No, the main Witch in the series was Marnie, though Holly is also Wiccan (if a bit airheaded compared to most Wiccans I've met).

Jason's letting her live was an almost classic example of plot-stupid, where someone does something stupid and out of character because the plot requires it. I say "almost" because doing stupid things isn't out of character for Jason!

For me it's a case of "hate the character, love the actress" (I have the same problem on Grimm). I really want Sarah to die a miserable, painful, distressing death--but not until the last episode! My favorite Sarah-killing fantasy is that Eric turns her and leaves her locked up (sealed in an underground vault, say) with only tainted TruBlood to drink, so she first starves, then dies of Hep V.

I also think Sookie and Bill will get back together. Alcide's death is in part to clear the way for that to happen without making Sookie unsympathetic (interviews with people involved in the show suggest this, but of course they could be lying).

^ Yes, Marnie was THE witch. I just refrained from calling her a bitch for some odd reason. :p

Last night's episode fell flat for me. The flashback about how Fangtasia came to be was lame and I did not buy that Pam would be impressed by that speech.
I did buy that she would pass it off as hers.

Jessica needs to get a grip. This is tiresome. I hope next week is better.
