Heroes - The Return Thread

They WILL be splitting up the season. Season 2 will be two volumes, Generations and another one after the mid-season hiatus. However, NBC took a dive in the ratings this year when all of their high-profile shows came back from hiatus (as did other networks and shows such as ABC and Lost). The whole idea of the "hiatus" is to avoid having to show reruns.

But, to make things better, NBC asked Tim Kring to come up with something to fill the gap. He came up with Heroes: Origins. It's going to be a 6-episode mini-series in which a new character will be introduced in each episode. Viewers will then vote on which ones will join the main cast of Heroes.

It totals 30 episodes of Heroes next season. That's a lot.

SO how does the nikki/jessica fight between candice and syler start out and play out ? Do they both gang up on her thinking she'd be an easy kill and are surprised ? I bet Sylar was caught off guard after having so many people being such an easy kill up till then.

Awesome finale! Yeah I was wondering what happened with Sylar and why they had a cockroach come out of the sewer.

I was pissed though because I had tivoed heroes, and the last part I saw was that Hiro had just landed in feudal Orient. Did they show previews for next season?

Why do you guys think Sylar is still alive? Hiro killed him.

Molly told us that there was a badder stronger villain out there... "I try not to think of him, because he can see me..."

And the eclipse? What is it? A space ship? Is that what Mohinder was eluding too? Just some random thought...

Best series out there.

Hiro then looks up and sees an eclipse, just like the opening title in every episode thus far.

Interesting ending.

A little anti-climatic. I wish we could see more epic battles. NBC needs to boost the special effects department by a lot.

I'm disappointed Sylar isn't dead but he is a great villian.

Molly's relevation of a supervillian "far worse" than Sylar who can "see her" when she sees him is very creepy. Looking forward to who this person is.

We never found out Ma Petrelli's powers. I'm sure we'll know in a future season.

Because there was a trail of blood leading to the sewer he crawled into.
Also there was a cockroach sitting on top of it which is a bit of a symbol in the show.

I'm glad Sylar's still alive, but it might be a bit pointless if they're about the bring in an even bigger bad guy next season. Let's hope they do some more interesting stuff with him.

Oh, I must not have noticed !oops!

Cant wait until next season!

Well, time for me to add in my two cents.

It was a very good ending, although we didn't quite get the answers we were promised.

In a way, I guess we were told that Charles had a power, obviously a bit like Sanjay's from earlier, sort of a dream guardian. Which is why he spoke to Peter when he was knocked out/passed out, etc...

And it is safe to assume that Mama Petrelli has a power, after all Charles and Linderman did, so she must to if she was working with them.

The only one I'm still confused about, in terms of parents, is Kaito Nakamura. Something makes me think, that he wasn't working with the company anymore. Considering Linderman seemed to be in control, and wanted New York to explode, whereas Kaito wanted Hiro to stop the bomb.

Not to mention both of them used the phrase, "We used to work with others, until some of them lost their way."

So the two camps could very well be like this:
Pro-Bomb: Linderman, Mama Petrelli
Anti-Bomb: Kaito Nakamura, Charles Deveaux

Does that mean that the "older generation" of Heroes split recently, in terms of wanting to see the bomb happen and those who didn't think it was necessary?
It also explains why Linderman, who worked with Mama Petrelli and Charles, would refuse to heal his dying friend.

But yes, hopefully those questions are answered.

Call me crazy, but I think I'm going to throw my hat into the rumour mill that Kaito Nakamura is actually Takezo Kensei...We'll see when the Blue Armoured Feudal Japan Warrior removes his mask...But until then, that's my belief.

In terms of the questions I've seen here, allow me to try and answer them.

Question: Why didn't Peter fly himself?

Answer: Peter was losing control of his abilities, hence why he exploded. As such, he couldn't access any other powers, such as flight. Also, in his current state, getting shot would likely have killed him as he wouldn't be able to control whether or not he could regenerate.

Question: Why didn't Micah yell during the fight between Niki/Jessica and Candice?

Answer: Candice is an illusionist, she alters the reality around her. For all we know. Micah was screaming his head off during the entire battle but Candice has the ability to block out sounds and sights that she doesn't want her targets to see and hear.

Question: Is Sylar dead?

Answer: No. The blood trails goes to the sewer, so Sylar was dragged down there or crawled there himself. Chances are, he did it while everyone was looking up into the sky. However, there is a smaller chance that Molly's greater villain (The one who can see her) helped Sylar escape for whatever reason. The most popular theories are it's Claude or possibly Mama Petrelli who helped.

Question: Are Nathan and Peter dead?

Answer: More than likely. Depending on how high Nathan took Peter, they could both be killed. Also, if Peter did lose complete control of his abilities, he might not be able to regenerate after he goes boom. As for Nathan, there's a small chance he might simply have flown Peter up high enough, let go, and flew away as fast as he could. We'll have to wait and see.

Question: What will happen to Molly?

Answer: Chances are, Mohinder will look after her. I know people are saying Niki and D.L. will take her, but given her condition and Mohinder's protective stance of her, it will be more likely to see Mohinder "adopt" her. A less than likely one would be Parkman recovering from his wounds, and adopting her in addition to his own unborn child.

All in all, it was a good finale. Although, I wish more questions had been answered.

After giving it some thought, I decided I'm not really understanding Peter's powers like I thought I did.

We know that his 'main' power is some kind of empathic ability to use other abilities he comes into contact with, with a possible sub ability as a dream seer of some sort (unless he got that from Mama Petrelli)

What I feel like I don't understand is how exactly he is using others powers. Is he storing them for infinite use once he comes into contact with them or is he somehow learning how to do them himself without realizing it?

I'm having trouble because we know why Sylar can do the same thing, as his ability is the ability to understand how the other heroes use their abilites, so it would make sense that he could have so many powers, yet we're just supposed to assume when it comes to Peter, since we clearly haven't been told one way or the other what his exact ability consists of.

I guess I'm just confused because you have two similar characters both with different main abilities yet can use others powers as well.

Finale gripes ahead...

And did they just completely run out of money come finale time or what? Peter and Sylars first encounter still was their best, meanwhile their second (being in the future) and third (last night) were so disappointing. They have to know everyone wants Peter to kick Sylar's ass, but for Sylar to give him hell first.

I really hate how they think they can get away with not really explaining how the dream completely didn't happen by throwing the time travel thing in our faces. That screams sloppy writing to me.

I know it's been said, but why the hell couldn't Peter just fly into the air all along? He should have that power and by not addressing it, it completely gives credence to both the fact that there is some sloppy writing going on and that the writers themselves don't even know how to explains what Peter can do.

Of course, on that mote you can argue that Peter can only use one ability at a time, however even that clearly hasn't been defined or established so once again we're just left to assume. If Heroes were a book, or real comic we'd know exactly what each person can do because we can't actually witness them doing it and the writers would have to tell us.

Sylar is still godamn alive. I thought we'd move on to a completely new story arc next season. We already have confirmation that there is someone worse than Sylar so what the hell does he need to still be alive for?

I thought I was satisfied but a day to digest will do wonders for the quality of a show.

About the save the cheerleader, save the world question...

I doubt Nathan would have shown up to help Peter, if Claire wasn't living and there. Her histrionics seemed to have an effect on Nathan. Um... Maybe...

In a preview I watched they talked about introducing new Characters with new special abilities..but I can't remember anyone getting introduced in the finale. Though it was interesting seeing everyone converge on the same spot. Even if the ending was a lil predictable. About Nathan and Peter I mean..

I finally watched the episode this morning (on-line) before work, so here are my thoughts.
As much as i liked the characters created this year, I am almost disappointed that most will be back next year. By middle of next season I (we) will probably be tired of them. A mostly new group of hero's would be an interesting change each year, with maybe one as a carry over to the new group each year. (Different ONE, each season).

I'm glad that Sylar (god--he's SO hot!) crawled into the sewers to recuperate. What I would like to see next year is a guiltridden, reformed Sylar. One whom the other Heroes now need (with his array of powers) to help against the new, more powerful, bad guy mentioned by Molly. It would be interesting to see the other Heroes working with, but not fully trusting Sylar.
Having a rehash (sylar--bad guy, same villians--trying to defeat him) of this season will get boring quickly.

So any thoughts on my thoughts?

I was thinking today about Simone. Could it be possible that she's Mrs. Petrelli's daughter? Here are my points that led me to this theory:

- We now know that her father and Mrs. Petrelli were apparently close.
- As far as I can remember, Simone's mother was never mentioned
- Simone looks biracial (like Micah)
- Primatech was very quick to cover up her death
- We know that there was some kind of breeding program oraganized by Linderman and Mama Petrelli was fully aware of it.

She could even still be alive, either because of some power that she herself has that saved her or because Linderman healed her. Of course, this would mean that Peter had sex with his sister...But stranger things have happened on the show.

Opinions?

Also, as far as saving Claire being essential to save the world, had Sylar gotten to Claire, he would have had her power, which would have made him indestructable.

Exactly, because Claire survived, Sylar was not able to become indestructable. If you remember in the Future that the Future Hiro came from, Sylar was the one that exploded, NOT Peter, because he was alive!

Okay, time for me to throw my two cents into the ring...Again.

This is the oldest question, so I'm going to answer it first:

Question: If the Haitian can block powers, why was Nathan able to fly away when Mr. Bennet and the Haitian came for him in Vegas?

Answer: Remember who the Haitian is truly working for: Mama Petrelli. Since he's looking after Claire, chances are he's not going to allow Claire's biological father and Mama Petrelli's first born to be captured and tracked by the Company.

Question: How did Saving the Cheerleader, save the world?

Answer: I'm jealous, as another JUBer hit the nail on the head before me. civic91 mentioned Claire's impact on Nathan, and that's how it happened. Nathan was ready to let New York be destroyed and for him to become President. Remember when Claire jumped out the window, Nathan looked like he was ready to go after her and Mama Petrelli told him not to do what he was thinking...

Also, Charles told Peter that LOVE would be what was needed to prevent New York's destruction. Love indeed prevented it, Nathan was affected by his love for his daughter and brother, and flew to prevent the blast. Had Claire been killed, Nathan would have remained under his mother's thumb and allowed the bomb to go off.

Question: Why didn't Peter fly his own lazy ass away?!

Answer: Three parts:
One) focusing completely on trying not to explode.
Two) He was losing control of his powers and abilities at the time, hence the explosion.
Three) Peter never did really master how to fly, anyone remember when Claude tossed him off the building? Granted, he did well when Bennet and the Haitian came after them, but he's always had the hardest time flying.

Those are my solutions, and they seem pretty plausable to me.

I think it is possible that the reason Peter didn't fly away was that he is able to only use one power at a time and the nuclear power was already out of control so he couldn't fly.

Funny how Hiro has to call out to Sylar before trying to hurt him. I know, must be that honorable thing - but that's just pathetic. I would stab the villain in the back, without needing him to turn around to face me.

I love how Jes/Nik whacked Sylar. At last, she was drawn to join the group - although it was just for a while.

And is that Peter's new power? To faint on the street? Btw, I kept thinking - why not just whack Peter once in the head, so that he would not be energized.

And that Sylar survived and crawled away thing - so expected. But then again, me thinks Sylar is the new Darth Vader. Fans are loving him. Perhaps he would change to be good.

And Hiro jumping time again? Puh-leassssse - get a new storyline.

Nope. Don't think incest is an issue a show like this dares to carry. Perhaps in Desperate Housewives.

I think Nathan's father is Linderman.
