NBC Going Supernatural With Fall Season

NEW YORK — With "Heroes" its only new hit of the season, struggling NBC announced a fall schedule Monday that includes a spinoff and three other dramas also trading on supernatural themes.

The network took a risk by keeping its Thursday night comedy lineup intact. NBC has drawn strong critical praise but few viewers for shows like "30 Rock" and "The Office," leaving the network faltering on a night it once dominated.

NBC, the first of the broadcast networks to unveil a new schedule to advertisers this week, canceled "Crossing Jordan" and the high-profile failure "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." Another critical favorite that hasn't found a big audience, "Friday Night Lights," was renewed.

"Law & Order" will be back for its 18th season and "Medium" will return, but not until January, when they take over a Sunday time slot filled by football in the fall.

Fourth-place NBC showed signs of life last fall with critically acclaimed shows. The bottom dropped out this spring when the network had its least-watched week in at least 20 years _ then went even lower the following week.

"We've got the class and next season we're ready to add some mass, with new shows that build on the creative accomplishments of last season and are as broad as they are good," NBC entertainment president Kevin Reilly said.

To stretch the normal 22-episode season of "Heroes," which faltered after its long hiatus this year, NBC will add "Heroes: Origins." The spinoff will introduce a new character each week, and viewers will select which one stays for the following season. The two series will have 30 new episodes combined.

Since it found an audience this season with superpowered stars, NBC will remake "Bionic Woman" with Michelle Ryan in the title role.

New series "Journeyman" is about a San Francisco newspaper reporter who travels through time to alter people's lives, and "Chuck" is a thriller about a computer geek who becomes a government agent after spy secrets are embedded in his brain.

Brooke Shields headlines an hour-long series about three high-powered women friends, a script from "Sex and the City" author Candace Bushnell.

NBC's other new series, "Life," is a drama about a detective given a second chance after spending years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

Illustrating the difficulties in introducing new comedies, NBC said it will have only one new sitcom next season _ and it didn't even earn a spot on the fall schedule. "The IT Crowd" is about a group of people who work in technical services at a large corporation.

The successful game "Deal or No Deal," often NBC's most popular program, will air on Monday and Wednesday nights.

That fucking rocked, so much went down. Solar got Ted, HRG and Matt found Molly, DL killed Solar, Heros father training him, and And going after Solar. God I can't wait till next Monday, man has this season been amazing. Thanks for the info Manito, we get a spin-off sweet.

Does Hiro need all that training just to drive a sword through Sylar? He was already a failure, and he was my fav, until he decided to jump from one time to another, and then ended up breaking his sword.

I almost laughed at the plot that Ando decided to go and look for Sylar. Yeah.. Like there are multiple direction hints easily directing Ando to Sylar.

And Sylar could control his new found nuclear power. Hmm...

I pray for consistency in the show.

I pray that Sylar dies in the finale...no offense but it is starting to get old with him going around and stealing people's powers. Time to take a new direction...I think that this finale will not disappoint us.

Now that it seems like everyone is dead or going to die, I'm kinda hoping those rumors of a completely new cast are true. Of course, that would be like LOST of DH getting a new cast every season. The producers aren't going to let that happen. Too bad though because I'm a little tired of some people.

Nessica, Micah, Peter, Claire and Hiro and Ando can all stay though.

Yay tomorrow (or today rather...actually tonight technically) is the big finale...looking forward to it!!!

But I'm sure I read somewhere that the guy that plays Sylar is coming back; so I'm assuming he doesn't die permanently, but it'll be interesting to see who tops him next season

*Spoiler kinda, not really, maybe?*

A cool pic I saw earlier this week was Niki/Jessica in a H2H fight with Niki/Jessica...just thought I'd share I found it interesting, LoL (probably just Candice, but whatev)

Looking forward to this more than a 5 year old looks forward to X-Mas....

Let the count down begin!

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

:gogirl:

Waiiiit a second.

*flashback*

Was Molly under the stairs at the beginning of the season? Does anyone remember? Where her parents were like, stapled to the ceiling?

Molly was the one under the stairs in episode 2. One of her parents is where Sylar got the freezing ability (I think the father), so that one was dead and brainless, the other was frozen to the wall.

From the recent interviews with Tim Kring I've read, Sylar is going to be a main character in season 2 (he's billed as a guest character right now). Initially they were going to have a mostly new cast for season 2, but so many fans love the characters, so he decided to keep most of them. They're introducing a few new characters tonight that will carry over to the new season. He has also said that season 2 will be 2 volumes ( this season was one volume called Genesis). Volume 2 (which I assume is the first half of the season) is going to be called Heroes: Generations.

He hasn't gone into more detail than that, but I'm figuring they're going to delve into the family pasts for the main characters, possibly allowing for many new characters in flashback scenes.

Loved the "Thats not me" line Jessica tipped off to Niki...'bout time Niki used that backbone of hers (knew she had it in her)

I also never liked Candice...and Aww look at the next gen Heroes (Micah & Molly) lol

Almost cried? I was teary eyed!

Why didn't Peter just fly up by himself?

Molly is Nikki and DL's new child? Micah and her are so getting together.

What the HELL crawled out of the sewer at the end? And why did the police just leave Sylar lying there!

Only 4985 weeks left until the next season...

God I love this show.

Ok, for some reason that line about her being their new daughter made me laugh out loud (I think for a minute I was kinda thinking the same thing). What a damn good show, glad I watched it. I can't wait for season 2...

God I love this show.

I thought the same thing at 1st too; but I just figured he was concentrating too much on not blowing up & he has had trouble using more than 1 power together before

I  . The ending was volume one was so powerful.

Really liked how everything was tied up and how all the heroes played apart in the end. A real team effort.

I knew Nathan was a good guy deep down.

I know its an ensemble but i want Ali Larter and Hayden Panettiere to get supporting actress Emmy nominations. I would put them in lead actress but nobody really has a chance against Sally Field this season IMO.

Why didn't Mica yell out from the closet as soon as he heard his mother? Why did he do it after the fight? lol

Why didn't Linderman heal Charles?

When Ali is Jessica i can tell its Jessica and when she is Niki same thing. Its a complete transformation and that cannot be easy and requires so much skill, so for that reason alone she should be recognized.

OH MY GOD!

That was the best...thing...ever...

And not just on TV.

I'm glad Tim Kring decided to bring everyone back next season...I would have been very disappointed if he hadn't.

How much do I fucking love Niki/Jessica? She's been my favorite character from the first episode and tonight with Niki realizing her power AND kicking the shit out of Candice AND knocking Sylar on his ass with the parking meter...my God...it was almost orgasmic. I hope we get to understand more about the relationship between Niki and Jessica in season 2. We know now that Niki's been the one with the super strength all along and that, most likely, Jessica was simply using her body...so that leaves the mystery surrounding Jessica. Is she really dead? Does she really have the body-jumping power that everyone has assumed? I WANT TO KNOW!

We KNOW Peter isn't really dead. He survived the original explosion when we saw the future episode, so why wouldn't he have survived this one? I'm sure we're going to see him landing on the ground in the first episode of season 2.

I hope they don't carry the Hiro's Adventures In The Orient thing too far. I can see that becoming tiresome. I enjoyed him swearing at the end, though.

I wonder what happened to Mrs. Petrelli...I'm sure she didn't let Nathan go without some sort of a fight.

So...Noah Bennet...I don't know why, but I expected more from his name. It's kind of like when we found out that Mr. Big's name is John...I don't know what I was expecting, but it was more than that.

I'm so excited about season 2...I can't wait...

ugh.....so it was a great episode but the whole time I wanted them to delve into Mrs. Petrelli's powers!!! I'm thinking that she is the one that Molly can't think about....anyone else think that?! She's the true mastermind behind everything and I think she is the most powerful/evil of all!!

That would be very interesting if it was Mrs. Petrelli Molly is scared of...I can see her as being a queen bitch villian & I wanted to know more of her powers too, lol

(Personally if she has powers, I think she's either a "see the future" type power or some type of "reality warping" where she can see/experience different outcomes) I'm probably waaay of base, but she just seems like the type who knows there's more than whats actually taking place...anyone else?

And yay love Niki/Jessica> Hope to see more of them in the future
