Hilary Clinton for President?

Compared to any Republican she's got my vote. And I'd like to see either Lincoln Chafee or Russ Feingold as V.P.

Politics aside, this is a woman who decided to 'look the other way' when her husband was playing around. Many times

Is she really the type of person who should be leading a country?
She is just as likely to 'look the other way' when it is convenient for her goals
She is obviously completely untrustworthy

1) the parameters of her marriage are none of my fucking business.
2) the parameters of her marriage are none of YOUR fucking business.
3) this "She is obviously completely untrustworthy" is the stupidest thing you could have said. Because reconciling with her husband when you wished they'd gotten divorced is... well it's smarmy.

Hey... that Republican Governor who had the mistress in Brazil and lied about it saying he was "hiking in the mountains..."

Remind me... he got re-elected, didn't he?

Because it shows she has a very fluid grasp of fidelity
If she is prepared to conveniently not see what is under her nose why should she be trusted in other matters.

In my experience if someone is unreliable in one area of their lives then it tends to spill over into other aspects too

Sorry... how does reconciling her marriage... "unreliable," exactly?

[Text: Removed] I don't care about her personal life.

Clinton is not nearly progressive enough and everything I hate about Obama is even further exemplified by Hilary Clinton.

I know Warren isn't going to run, and is probably more useful in the Senate. But damn if she isn't the best candidate I've seen in my lifetime.

I don't see my state going anywhere but blue. So I have no problem voting independent, likely for Bernie Sanders, or even writing in Elizabeth Warren.

I don't plan to support or vote for Hillary unless she got the nomination and the GOP candidate in my home state(usually reliably Democratic voting... especially in US presidential elections, New Jersey) is so close on Election Day every vote literally will count. I'm voting third party otherwise, whoever best appeals to my own perspective without being someone who'll fuck things up beyond recognition. She's certainly more than qualified enough, a full term plus as Senator from New York and having been Secretary of State. Compared to relatively inexperienced John Kennedy and Barack Obama, she definitely has more weight and gravitas and truthfully if she were to become President I think she would possibly be very formidable.... definitely she is strong minded, intelligent and focused.

I don't trust her character at all, though. I think she and Bill both have a shady side that's entitled and self centered. She is certainly manipulative and far from the ideal public servant and it's not just from her calculated marriage to Bill. Her ambition to be President above all is what keeps them together...she may have loathed and felt humiliated by Bill's indiscretions but both of their eyes are on the prize to be the first married couple to serve as President.... to paraphrase them "you elect one you get the other". There probably is still love between them... maybe Hillary really can handle being married to Bill despite knowing his reputation as a notorious horndog. Yet the calculation of what can gain politically staying together is no small part of why the Clintons keep on together. Hillary becoming President wouldn't be a national disgrace, because goodness knows both parties have elected deeply flawed candidates, even bad people. I'm just not going to be a cheerleader for it. What the Republicans have in the wings though is infinitely worse for America and the world and I can't see voting for any of 'em.

One thing though I do hope for is that there will be a serious contest in the Democratic Party nomination process and a coronation that just greases the way for Hillary to slide to the convention clear and free. THAT would be a huge mistake for the Democrats and the country.

Hillary divorcing Bill would not have benefited her nor Bill nor the nation. I think that she was hurt and furious and that they came to an agreement because that was the best that she could accomplish. I think that they still have feelings for each other. I had strongly supported her, but now see some sides of her personality that I am not sure about, however, she is so far above anything that the Republicans could put up, and the Republican party has been bought by a few rich people that I could never vote for a Republican.

Why does her husband 'cheating'* make her untrustworthy?

*We don't know the rules of their relationship, and I don't wish to rule out the idea that privately they have/have had an agreement.

I think the two of you greatly underestimate Hillary Clinton, or at least don't see her how she is seen the US.

Here in America, it is universally agreed upon that Hillary Clinton does whatever she sees as the most politically expedient thing for her to do at the moment. Back during Monica, Hillary needed her husband to launch her own political career, so she stayed with him.

Lol - this is still a thing????

On Warren, wasn't it shown she had gained no benefit out of claiming Native American heritage. Do you really get taxpayer benefits if you are wrongly down as a minority professor at a university?

As humans, we all lie. I think if my dog could speak she might lie.
It's what one might lie about, not if.
People have lied about Obama being born outside of the USA, people have lied about him being a Muslim.

I can only blame this on being a human being, but she somehow comes across as being even slimier and more untrustworthy than your standard issue politician. My vote is going to a third party, or, barring finding one I can support, I will vote for the Republican.

Her receiving of "benefits" for being a minority via her fraudulent claim of being Native American (RE: taxpayer funded benefits) is almost as bad to me than anything Clinton has done.

There is no record of Warren receiving "benefits" from this claim. No, there is not documented proof of her being 1/32 Cherokee. But her benefiting from the claim has been largely debunked. Regardless, it really has nothing to do with her ability to lead or, in my opinion, her integrity. Clinton's campaigns have been largely Wall Street funded and she's shown very little interest in economic reform, something Warren has spent her entire career (outside of politics) researching, teaching, and openly criticizing.

Also Hilary Clinton voted for the Iraq War as senator, something that actually does have to do with her ability to lead and act in the country's best interests.
But claiming the ancestry your family raised you to believe? Yeah, that's almost as bad.
