Hillary Clinton and her presidential-loss, blame game of excluding herself

Exactly. Hillary may be gone, but the party is still acting like her.

And if they did not get the message in last year's elections, they are going to get another chance to hear it loud and clear during next year's Midterms. The arrogance of the party and the Hillary supporters remain.

It's not about her. She is just the last standard bearer and was caught cheating which pissed off the base. It is about the party in general trying their best to hold on to their donors whole ignoring the regular public.

The thread that got merged with this one was about her, not criticizing the Democratic Party in general.

I am part of the "regular public"...and I damn sure have not been "ignored".

The Democrats have been near perfect on my top three issues...

LGBT Equality/Environmental Issues/Pro Choice....

...and I love how Corporate America fell in line behind them to support us...

Let's not kid ourselves. We are a voting block just like the others and are no different. The issues you mentioned ... I dare say the first is going to be found amongst the overwhelming majority of Gays. As far as other voting blocks, it is probably a safe bet that Gay Marriage isn't one of the Top Three issues on their mind. And I would hazard to guess the same when it comes to Environmental issues.

LGBT equality isn't even on the radar of gay people...we took it for granted... because if you have been paying attention...very few of us support the people who supported us. I don't see anyone really defending the Democrats on any LGBT board ....quite the opposite. People like you are definitely in the majority..not people like me. I am even OK now if they dump us..we don't deserve their support anymore.

From where I see things, we seem to be moving out of the days where one group supported another group and voting groups expected favors in return from other voting groups to support issues they care about, etc. and we seem to more so be transitioning to the day and age where we ask ourselves "what issues do we morally believe in" and do we support those issues or not?

I have had discussions with other folks ... typically voters in their late 40's or older (different generation perhaps) who seem to think one voting block needs to support another, etc. but doesn't it speak to us more as individuals if we simply vote and prioritize what we believe in as oppose to voting blocks expecting favors and thank you's for essentially "doing the right thing"?

They certainly aren't doing the right thing in alot of people's eyes by supporting LGBT equality...planned parenthood...the environment. That term is subjective.

They aren't doing the right thing in ALOT of people's eyes by redistributing their wealth or using their tax money to help programs like Social Security and Medicaid and all the other the other safety nets they work hard to create and fund....

I will be loyal to them...you don't have to be. You can be who you are...I will do the same.

Facts often ignored by the so called progressives posting here.

I never said they were good at it.

Nice to see you again.

The same can be said about you. All you care about is if they have a "D" behind their name. You don't care what they actually work for.

Really! The last time i looked, my nose was still attached to my face...:)

You have no idea what i care about. You were happy to waste your vote, and call it a "protest vote" Congratulations, it worked.

Now, lets all sit back and watch Trump destroy and demean all those who rely on medicaid or the ACA. Because, quite frankly, they are screwed.

So is mine. What is your point? It is only an expression. Not to be taken literally.

If you actually cared you would want people that actually try to help people. Not just talk about it, then kill it out of the public eye. You care more about supporting the party line and those that want to line their pocket books than what you say you are for.

^Pst. I live in Scotland, i have no "party line" to follow. And for the final time Mr, don't tell me what i am for, you have no idea, and likely never will.

In my mind the problem is you have too few political parties in the US.

I know that situation well, because my own jurisdiction was pretty much a one-party state since the early 1970s. The Conservatives ran the show. During their time in office, about as long as my lifetime, they've been brilliant, then average, then shitty, then average, then corrupt and self-serving.

They started out as the voice of progressive modernity, but eventually got drawn into the paranoid selfish cruel political style that the Republican party now espouses in the Staes.

Then, in a great stroke of luck, all the nutbars and dominionists decided to go their own pure way. They split off into an opposition party. For the first time in my life, all the wackos left voluntarily in a great sulk that they couldn't control everything, but they left!

It meant I could actually consider voting for the Conservatives. Once, I did.

Anyway, the point is, the US has only had two parties for a very long time. That means each party is burdened with its share of nutbars. If you had more parties, they would go there instead, and a couple of sensible centrist parties would provide some smart competitive alternatives that wouldn't actually fuck up the country into perpetuity like Trump is.

Dems are going to lose in 2018 and 2020 for no other reason they have learned nothing.

The Democratic Party is sufficiently wise to remain observers, and let the Trump White House self destruct.

I'm certain that there are a growing number of Republican politicians, and their supporters readying Mike Pence for his upgrade.

The thing is...he is part of a movement that has every intention of stopping Democrats in 2018 and 2020. The purity index they measure everyone by...even their beloved Bernie would disappoint them...one "impurity" and they dump them and promise to replace them....

...which is EXACTLY like the tea party...hence alt left....

As much as they claim they had nothing to do with it..they feel empowered for bringing Clinton to her knees. They think throwing out statistics does the trick but the 24/7 disinformation campaign and the endless "it doesn't matter what we do or who we vote for because they are all the same" kept tons of voters home......that is why people engage in disinformation....and they are already planning to do it again....

Absolutes lead a nation into dictatorship by fanatics who believe that their policies are the remedies for all of life's ills.

History often teaches us that a slow, and steady willingness to compromise rewards society with stable government, and a promise of improvement at a speed that satisfies most, despite frustrating the few who want their policies implemented immediately.

Populist leaders are well renowned for making speeches that appeal to those seeking solutions the same day. Life does not work this way, and never will.

Having lived in Italy I have over the years become a minor expert on Italy's Fascist years from 1922/1943 learning that the first ten years of Fascist governance were constructive, and beneficial for most Italians....until The Fascist Party began believing that its mission was beyond criticism, and their policies became much more focused on self aggrandisement...when the rot set in and began to destroy Italy.

I'm always wary of fanatics having learnt over many years that bi-partisan compromise benefits all when revolutionary policies become the talking point.

^^^our problem now is we have a con man who is being led by other con men who know what "sells"....

In my opinion..this particular chapter began when Reagan championed deregulation in order to line the pockets of the rich and in return they would "trickle down" their wealth....

...and trickle down they did...they trickled down to Swiss Banks...Off Shore Accounts...Dubai..Shanghai...cheap labor and cheaper and cheaper products....which was also supposed to "Make America Great"....LOL...Reagan and his trickle down fallacy was actually the architect of the financial crisis Barack Obama inherited...

It was based on greed...and slavery...which is why they hate the unions....

Now Donald #madeinchina #importcheapforeignlabor #borrowmoneyfromrussianbanks Trump is going even further.

He is making Russia great again...

Donald Trump is self destructing day, by day there being a growing awareness among his WH staff that even the generals cannot save him from himself.

Time will do its work, and ensure that the White House is cleansed of the disease that currently plagues the United States, and our planet Earth.

Time is the wisest counselor of all. ¬Pericles, Mayor of Athens died 429 BC

I agree. I think impeaching Trump would be a huge mistake. But letting Trump bring himself and his party down, should not stop the democrats from governing.

Being publicly for something and privately killing it is not governing.

Bullshit. I we still support Bernie even though he supports the establishment democrats.

No one is defending the Democrats because there is no defense. They were not democrats this time around in either the primary or general election.
