Hillary says she will help struggling Americans. Why Should We Believe that she would?

I set it up from the beginning as a theoretical scenario. My point being, if the flippers got paid more what would happen to the other peoples pay? Would the gap remain? I've still only heard a couple responses to that question. A lot of hurtful insults but not much else.

Your point being that burger flippers should shut up and suck it the hell up.

"...GOLLY GEE, Jiminy Cricket! Someone answered my irrelevant question! Thanks guys for answering my pointless inquiry! Now, I'm going to pretend the answer wasn't one click away the whole time I was using the question to pretend I had a point! Now how in the heck am I going to avoid an actual discussion while pretending to have one! I know I'll repeatedly play obtuse!..."

I was trying to find out what your opinions are. That's why this is here. For people to talk and exchange ideas. I can find any info I want without asking you, yes. I'm here to interact with others like me. Try to keep up.

..and yet you've spent so much time and energy ignoring them...

You finally put some numbers out there. Thank you. Jesus what was so hard about that? I agree with your assessment. Now, how in the heck would that work in the real world?

Give me a fucking break.

I previously put numbers out there and all you took from it was that people shouldn't have cable or be buying clothes.

Sorry.

You blew it.

Now you're trying to backpedal and make reasonable because you realize that none of us are going to put up with your sneering, patronizing and sophomoric approach to discussing an issue.

Even now, you are being patronizing as though somehow it is all of us who have failed you.

It is still apparent that you have fuck all idea of how basic economics should even work in a healthy society.

You don't even realize that in many countries and even jurisdictions in your own that there are people who do get paid what they are worth and using formulae that do in fact, take into account cost of living for workers, their investment in education, their skill level and their experience.

Don't lecture me about the real fucking world. I have employees. I run my own business. I live in a country with universal health care, paid vacations and social safety nets.

I pay the student who cuts our lawns $15 per hour.

So please. Just stop.

You didn't put any numbers up. You kept saying living wage over and over. That is not a number. Thank you for your input. It's not much to go on, but I thank you regardless. What country do you live in?

Thanks again guys. This is a great forum. Just takes a lot of effort to get any real info out of you. That's cool. I enjoy the process. Now all we have to do is convince thousands of employers to hike wages. Good luck with that!

… Not false. Your own data supports it. Just answer the question now that we agree on EMT pay.

I agree that compensation for an EMT at the rate of $15.00 per hour appears to represent a living wage in my home state. [Link]

It is a false dilemma to use EMT compensation to justify a non-living wage for a McDonald’s employee working as burger flipper or fries cooker.

$250 a month for food? WTF are they eating? My food bill is $50-$75 less than that.

You don't read well do you. I actually had calculated rent and food and utilities. But apparently you went right to the bit about the costs of cable and clothing.

But thanks for playing.

And stop being so fucking condescending. From what I've read...you don't have that right.

I do $200 for two people. About, oh, 85 percent of it is from scratch and takes awhile to prep, not to mention cook. If you have kids you can forget about feeding them on two hundred bucks, not gonna work with the timing. If your job is hectic you're unlikely to have the energy to cook from scratch, either, which jacks of the price considerably when you buy meals from a box or frozen patties, ect and so forth.

And that's not counting grocery prices vary depending on store and location- some of them are pretty damned high.

I can't buy that. Is it because you have no heating costs? Is rent that cheap?

$250 per month including non food grocery items only works out to less than $10 per day.

That is not much.

I buy produce, the usual kind, staples, etc for two people from the regular grocery store, not Central Market or Whole Foods, and my food bill is $700-$1000 monthly. I'm going to make some of you do my shopping for me. $200 a month to feed two people, that's like some kind of nirvana.
