Hollyoaks Discussion Thread

yea i did have them confused. i don't like jacqui too much. and i always think she's sarah for a second. there are 3 girls that look alike on the show. even one of the valentine girls reminds me of tina.

Haha, I always would get the females switched. The guys, I have no problem with, because they don't look alike (except Jake and Dominic....they don't look too much alike but I would forever get the two confused).

i don't think the writers ar making it seem like he chose to be gay. at least that's not how i saw it. i really don't think craig is gay. i think he is bisexual. but i think he loves john paul more. i know a lot of people gay and straight hate bisexuals but i don't mind them. i think bisexuality is real.

I hope Jacqui or Mercedes punches out that fat cow Nancy.

Yeah, me too. I can't wait to see his other sisters' reactions especially Jacqui. By the way, where the hell were they when all these things were happenning?

And Craig's case is probably that of a bisexual coming to terms of his own bisexuality. Hence, his insistence of his being not gay.

Can I ask if those of you who saw what happened after Sarah found them in the kip together saw it somewhere other than YouTube ? Cuz I can't find ANY more recent postings there since the engagement party `reveal'......

I love the latest episode!

Favorite line:
"How come my straight brother can get a bf and i can't?" --Steph

John Paul won't leave Hollyoaks until next year.

This is the best line:

"My brother's gayer than yours."

The wild west episode looks like a dream, for in the latest episode Craig seems to revert to his old self.

sadly i think in the end. craig is gonna realize he's straight. the guy that plays craig is leaving the show and he confirmed that john paul is ultmiately not joining craig in dublin

well i hope that's not how they explain craig's departure w/o john paul. but john paul is so in love with craig i don't see how he would not go with him to dublin any other way. but the actor has confirmed he is leaving the show when craig leaves for dublin and jp is definitely NOT going with craig. john paul's character will remain on the show though. also the guy who plays craig doesn't say craig is gay he says he is experiencing sexual confusion. who knows how theyll spin this whole thing?

I heard in the digital spy that it's John Paul who decides not to go with Craig when the latter refuses to kiss him in public. The producer though said that they left the end open in case Guy (Craig) decides to come back by the time (James) John Paul leaves. This is what the fans called sunset ending. Guy also hinted in one of his interviews that same thing where he might come back by the time James leaves HO, which will be early next year.

Some photos of James' future episodes show him with another bloke, and so the speculation is whether or not it's for one night or another bf. If it is for the former, then it would mean it's a rebound affair or James' coping mechanism in the absence of Craig.

This has confused me since the first time I heard of it. I'm trying to figure out if Guy will be back when James leaves, meaning Craig comes back to no JP and stays with the show, which will probably have Craig be straight; or will he be back before JP leaves in order to win him back, and they both leave the show for good.

In all the interviews I've seen, Guy isn't really as comfortable with the JP/Craig story as James is, since he spends the majority of the time either being quiet (which he said he doesn't like the limelight) or making sure that the world knows he is a straight actor (like the recent interview, and the show that followed James in his everyday life and he asked Guy for a snog for the fans, but he kissed Sarah's portrayer, stating he likes kissing her better).

so i guess it's over. it was pretty satisfying i guess. it left things pretty open as far as the relationship though. i'm glad it didn't end with craig realizing is totally straight in the end and the john paul thing was a big fluke.

Guy Burnet has left the show for good; he no longer has a contract. James Sutton's contract will be expiring in 2008. If James leaves in 2008 (which I believe he is) and they decide to do a happy ending with Craig and John Paul, Guy Burnet would just come back as a guest star for a few episodes--he wouldn't commit to another long term contract.

They had better. It will be nice to have some happy closure to our favorite couple. In the meantime, I hope James isn't thrown on the backburner now that Guy leaves. JP can still have some interesting storyline, like finding a new love interest as you have stated. Also, he needs to try and reconcile the broken friendships before he leaves.

the ending is weird. must be because straight people wrote it. it really doesn't make sense. as obsessed as jp was with craig i can't imagine him just dropping him like that once he finally had him. it doesn't make sense for craig to drop sarah confront his family then still say hes not really gay. like someone said how could jp expect craig to be totally comfortable right away. he was basically forced out of the closet true. but he could have chose to be with sarah still. he could have chose to pretend for his family. sarah was begging craig to stay with her regardless of his affair and he still chose jp. he made tons of progress and jp throws it away because he wont make out with him in public.

That's probably because it's what you would do, but JP is one of those people who need assurance. Remember JP has accepted the fact that Craig is going to Dublin which, by the way, is not part of his plans that, by the way, he immediately discards for Craig's plans. JP thinks of his future and everything that he sacrifices in exchange for what? Living together with Craig in secret again? He's been there, done that and despite everything that happens to Craig and even when his family have accepted him, still he cannot show JP his love in public? JP has been an expert with Craig and he knows that Craig lies and will lie again and again in which in my opinion has made JP wary and insecure with him.

However, I agree that it didn't make sense that JP would leave the man of his life at the airport. I think it's more humanly possible and more JP-like if he would just go with the flow with insecurities in his mind, and then in a few weeks would come to a decision. It just seems abrupt that JP has decided to leave Craig that instant when, in fact, he has shown in the past episodes that leaving Craig is not that easy for him.

It's more Craigy though to make impulsive decision like walking out from his exam to get to JP's. So it'd be in character too if Craig would go back to him right after his plane lands in Dublin airport. And it's more JP-like to accept him when he turns up on his doorstep.

So sunset ending is more plausible if they are to follow the guys' dynamics.
