Holy Crap ! The Christmas Trees Are Up in Macy's !!!

It's not just the stores .. it's the customers as well. If no one was interested in purchasing Christmas merchandise now, then the store wouldn't be putting it out. I remember a few years ago we had singing santa clauses .. they put a display by the front door on August 31 and by the end of the day they had all sold out. I believe they were $70. Since then they've waited a little longer to bring out the Christmas decorations, but pretty much there are two parts to it .. first off, the customer demand; second off, if you walk into one store and there are no decorations, but walk into a competitor's store and see decorations, where will you buy them? Some people like being prepared in advance, or to get it out of the way, and the first place they see them is likely the first place that they'll buy them; hence the rush to have holiday/seasonal merchandise out ASAP.

Gotta disagree here. Stores don't put the x-mas stuff out this early because they think it sells well this early. They could leave the stuff out year-round and it would likely sell just as slow now than it would in June. Evertime I see this stuff in stores this early, I never see anyone actually buying any of it.

The real reason they put this stuff out early is to put shoppers more in a shopping mood. The theory is if shoppers have x-mas on their mind, they will buy more of anything, not just x-mas decorations. Same deal as when they start playing the music (which is soon to follow). It's all a mind game and the stores are betting that we will play along.

It's what marketing departments are for...to find some way to get you hooked on buying more than you planned on.Early Christmas displays are a way that stores have recently latched on to for maximizing holiday revenue.I know of no one who is thinking of Christmas now, save that...hell,Halloween is still over a month off!

I bought some Halloween candy for the anticipated trick-or-treaters the other day because it was already marked down in price.

Unfortunately, I fear there won't be any left for the poor kids by the time Halloween rolls around.

See? These premature holiday marketing schemes hurt the children.

shame! you are soo cruel to the children!

i've lived in this apartment for a number of years and not once have i ever had any trick-or-treaters come by. it seems parents take their kids to malls, fiesta texas or seaworld for 'safe' trick-or-treats.

We're already getting Christmas stuff at Target. But I think they'll right till after Halloween to put them on the sales floor.

I wouldn't mind if they start selling eggnog now. Isn't the meaning of Christmas is to drink an insane amount of eggnog, then puke your guts out?

and here i thought the meaning of christmas was family, friends and the birth of christ.

yours sounds like it would be much more fun. ;)

Yep.

Looks like it's gonna be cigarettes and razor blades again this year. #-o

you know cigarettes can be pretty expensive.

i would recommend you go to costco and stock up on condoms right now.

they come in bright packages! and you know the kids dig bright colors!

Let it be christmas all year long (!)

:santa: :xmas: :elf: :menorah:

Josh and JUBbers, Relax, the Christmas trees at Macys and other places are not really about Christmas, they are about money and greed. It happens every year, and every year we complain, because we all have an unpleasant experience around the Christmas holiday stuff.

May I suggest some fun responses, not torching trees and shooting out neighbor's outdoor lights, but some real fun. For example, walk up to the Macy's tree or whavever store you are in and get real close and pretend you are wanking off, even making some groaning noises. On a slow night you might even make the local news videos. When the security people or sales people try to intervene, tell them you thought it was a community tree that everyone decorates and you were just doing your job to help decorate. As long as your zipper is up and there is no DNA evidence that you shot a wad into the branches, what is the harm.

I am sure some of you could offer some other interesting scenerios for pre Christmas fun and cum. I am game. The 93 days left to Christmas are too many to just get all stressed out for nothing.

It's not even Halloween yet... welcome to the commercilization of the holidays

"Hey, since when is Christmas just about presents? Aren't we forgetting the
true meaning of this day -- the birth of Santa?"

You fool! Everyone knows Santa hatched from an egg left on the elves' doorstep by the Easter Bunny!

Yesterday I decided I wanted some chairs for the patio/deck thingy in my backyard.

I went to four different stores trying to find them. At each and every one of those stores, where the lawn furniture had been a week or so prior, stood dozens of holiday trees and other decorations.

September isn't even over with,
but if I want something to sit on in my backyard,
I will have to put a saddle on a big plastic reindeer. :cowboy:

i smell a photo op! :=D:

can we say 'siggy thingamajig?' :p

So Macy's are not allowed to put their Christmas trees up yet, so now I want some honest confessions about all of you. Have any of us JUBbers got some Christmas thing out and put it up already.

Let me prime the Christmas pump. I love English Shortbread Cookies and my partner knows it. So yesterday before he came home I got out the Santa Cookie Jar and put it on the counter in the kitchen.

Naturally, when he came home he wanted to "know why the fuck I put the cookie jar out." I reminded him that I would receive any day now some nice English Shortbread cookies. He is so helpful, I just know that this evening if I look there will be cookies already. I know that it is devious, but how else can I remind him to get them.

Looking up from one of my super blow jobs, and saying, "Oh, by the way my man, how about some short bread cookies today!" That won't get it done, besides the Santa cookie jar is so big and cute, especially when it is filled with Christmas goodies.
