....like I said there is no difference if it is English or any other language but English is already the most useful language in the world so might as well stick with that.
OMG. My PC almost got blue screen from this nonsense.
BTW, I'm amazed you guys actually talked to this dimwit for so long. "Universal language," my ass. If we could really get that many people to talk the same tongue, one of the first things they'd agree on is shipping his ass to a new solar system. He could just call it "gay majority gym," because his gay ass would be the only one there.

Um............. awkward
Anyways, my two cents: I read somewhere/heard multiple times that there's a huge movement for the learning of Mandarin Chinese, since in the next 50 years or something, it will be the dominant language even more so than English...
ahem.
I can speak three languages fluently. English, Mandarin, Spanish. Yay.
I can read/write, biblical Hebrew and Greek. Completely useless, well.... not according to my religious parents.
Bro, I grew up in America, my parents are Chinese and I had to take Spanish in high school/live right next to Mexico. I didn't spend any excess time learning these languages. That's impressive.
Now think of all the time it took you to learn those languages, you could have learned a ton of information about something useful as science and medicine...maybe even came up with a cure for AIDS.
I bet these idiots would be happy about that.
But no these people will tell you that you need to learn other languages...even though everybody in the world is learning English....so no actually you don't...by learning other languages you are just slowing down the progress of a universal language and making languages that are slowly dying out die slower.
Ah..damn my superior intelligence.
If Mandarin Chinese becomes more dominant than English I will happily learn it. I don't think it will though.
lol, I wasn't saying that English would drop out, I was just highlighting the increasing significance of Chinese in the future, to counteract OP's nativist, anti-cultural, idealogical homogenization of the English as the global standard. And further to my response to the sophistical notion that Mandarin is destined to replace English as the international language over the next 50 years arguing on the basis of population growth: This is illogical; if lingual dominance were based solely on population numbers using a given language, English would have been dropped long ago, since China has been doing big business with the US and Europe for some time now.
That's all.

Darling, English is the global standard.![]()
You can blame the ones who tried to build the tower of Babel in Ancient Babylon- in order to literally reach the Heaven. Before the destruction of the tower, all the known world in that time had only one language.
