International Brotherhood of Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa Jr.
Now who was it just a few months ago who were claiming that salaries like that doesn't qualify one as a 'rich' American?

Bob, is it appropriate for the man introducing the POTUS to call political opponents "Sons of bitches?"
But I'm not surprised that Obama's lapdog Jay Carney refused to condemn Hoffa's vitriolic remarks. Obama will always be on his knees for the Union Thugs. He needs their money and their votes.

This thread is a microcosm of the political problem we are witnessing in the usa. If the same vitriolic and profane rhetoric by Hoffa was giving before a republican presidential event the roles of the posters here would be reversed. The left would be outrage and the right would be deflecting. There can be no consensus on an obvious issue. The obvious issue is this was not a proper way to introduce the POTUS, it demeans the office.
hmmm
reported income is decent - not what i would consider rich
based on his namesake though i imagine there could be more where that came from
just saying
the labor movement - how much money do they spend supporting candidates/officials who suck their balls?
they're just as bad as congress
as regular moderate folks - non union folks - are paying the bills for the money grubbing Hoffa-ites
who don't want labor supported but rather their pockets lined
Chance, baby, what on earth are you talking about?
Nothing new here, Republicans love to reward their corporate cronies and benefactors. In a recent poll of small businesses, less than a quarter identified government regulation and taxes as a top issue. The top issues were access to capital and economic uncertainty. https://bschool.pepperdine.edu/newsroom/index.php/2011/09/study-small-business/1. Reduce the business tax rate. Corporations in the USA pay one the highest rates in the world.
Republicans are vehemently opposed to eliminating the most appalling exemption of all, the tax breaks for oil companies.2. Eliminate almost all exemptions from the tax code.
Revamp it how? Specific policies, remember?3. Revamp the health care bill. It did nothing to control costs and will eventually suffocate the country with debt.
This doesn't even make sense, unless what you are proposing is just one, huge cut in the budget. Are you suggesting going back to the exact budget as 2008? The Republicans aren't. This would restore lots of cuts to social programs that have happened in recent years.4. Go back to a previous budget year ... say, 2008. No more auto increases every year.
Which ones? Be specific. This wasn't supposed to be a simple bash Obama exercise.5. Erase most of the executive orders that created the mountain of new regulations since Obama became President.
6. Pass a budget -- the Senate refuses to look at the budget passed by the House. Democrats have not passed a budget for 2 years.
Chance, baby, what on earth are you talking about?
The person who dies with the most toys wins!
Chance, baby, what on earth are you talking about?
He doesn't realize that CEOs do the same exact thing and get away with it too.
I think that buying political favors is wrong
That organized labor as represented by miscreants like James Hoffa .....
Has lost it's reason to be - to protect from mistreatment
That unions need to recognize that they have a responsibility to recognize economic realities not just expect more
I don't think that union leaders represent their constituents well
I'll give you credit for making a stab at it. Laika wouldn't, naturally. I guess he agrees with me that the Republicans have nothing to run on. Of course, you mostly say nothing substantive, and nothing you propose has ever created a healthy, stable economy, but at least you tried.
I'm just not interested in your pathetic attempt at baiting.
Corporations fund the Republicans to do their bidding, and Unions fund the Republicans to protect the American Worker.
But to decry them as Union Thugs, as laikaNYC did in one of his now usual ad hominem responses, is just irresponsible.
Calling people "sons of bitches" and saying "we need to wipe them out" is thuggish.
I'm just not interested in your pathetic attempt at baiting.
