A couple of years ago, between more "permanent" jobs, I spent some time working with a local moving company.
Besides the fact that I'm sure it wasn't good for my back, I learned these things:
1. Moving is dangerous.
2. Moving well takes thought and planning, which are helped by experience.
3. Movers should always be tipped generously.
...so I'm hoping that next time I have to move, I can afford to hire movers. The last time I moved, after I had lived in this one place for 12 years, I am certain that I threw away a TON of stuff. Not metaphorically. A TON.
...Nowadays, I will lend out my pickup before I say I'll help move!
It sounds like you've got a reasonable load, Trans, exactly the kind of move that you and some friends can do effectively. There's a lot to be said for frugality in possessions!
