I am an atheist.
When I argue with believers I tell them I don't believe in god because I have never seen him. They say "you're not supposed to see god" and I say "why not"?
God was present to the People back in the time of Jesus Christ, in the person of Christ, and there are documentations of people seeing God in the person of Christ, and example; Saint Maria Faustina, the Apostle/Secretary of Divine Mercy in early part of the 20th Century. Google her and her story.![]()
Resisted temptation in the desert, had 12 disciples, walked on water, cast out demons, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, raised the dead, gave a sermon on the mount, was crucified alongside two thieves, buried in a tomb, descended into hell, was resurrected in 3 days, he was a god-man, was called the lamb of god, bread of life, good shepherd, son of man, the word, the fisher etc. etc. etc.
And his name was Horus, an Egyptian god.
Then came Jesus.
People are welcome to believe what they want, but you’d think they could be just a little more original about it.

Because these stories are in the bible, and the bible is supposed to be god's word as given to man. If they brought these and other stories to the publics attention, especially the American public, it would almost be like calling god a liar.
Personally, I just see it as proof that the bible was written by men, not god.
my opinion.
