More than twenty people have been killed and at least 100 injured in a mass shooting at a Las Vegas concert.

A gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel toward an open-air music festival being held close by.

Police said a suspect identified as a local resident, who was not named, had been shot and killed by officers.

The tendency is that when the culprit is coloured, the news almost always instantly labels them as terrorist, but when they're white, then it's either a). mentally disturbed and needs professional help, b). burned out, or c). problem child/person. It is sad to have to wake up yet to another mass shooting and it is worse than the last time.

It is a shame that we are going to see the same discussions about this topic that we always do but in the grand scheme of things, nothing will change. We are just going to diddle ourselves until the next one.

Previous presidents like Obama would have his staff wake him up any time something like this happened and make an announcement on tv not sure where Trump is I know he is not busy handling Puerto Rico's devastation. I think the dichotomy in defining terrorism evolved as Americans learned the term. It was originally someone who represented an organized movement, killing civilians in an effort to strike at a nation and ensure that its vulnerability was made known as a strategic action to flex power of a guerilla movement and its cause.

Whenever it's a psycho just bent on murdering as many people as possible, without having a political cause or an organized movement, it's mental health.

Oklahoma City bombing was big time a terrorist and was covered as such, so it's more coincidence that Muslims are minority races in America, or Europe, and actually do represent, or claim to, ISIS.

What is more likely, lotta wannabes are just psychos who latch onto some cause like ISIS to vent their anger more than represent any real organization, and media all too eager to use the sensational headline and term.

And I'd say the Unibomber was thought of correctly as a domestic terrorist, as he stated a cause, and he was plenty white, so again, not a racist term.

I'm for a total automatic weapon ban, as well as a ban on any weapon that can be cheaply modified to become one. It's tragic that our government is owned lock, stock, and gun barrel by the NRA. Should have been plenty of those members at a country music concert in Vegas. Wonder why none opened return fire -- that's always their argument for why everyone should be licensed to carry. I was going to say that, but I'm glad you did so I wouldn't have to. More guns wouldn't have done a thing since there wasn't even a target for them, but the NRA will find a way to justify them.

Nah, they just report the ones that are in the double digits now. There was a mass shooting of 8 people a couple weeks ago that most people didn't even hear about.

This one is just the newest record-setter, until the next one.

He flipped out over the Ariana Grande concert shooting when less than half as many people were killed. He slammed the prime minister and Manchester's mayor for their uselessness in preventing and handling the event. It will be interesting to see how he handles this.

He's already pissed off at people for the way he's handling the Puerto Rico crisis.

This is so frustrating. Why ruin hundreds of people's lives like that? It's so cowardly and selfish. And it happened at a music concert, a place where people are just trying to enjoy themselves with like-minded people. Should be one of the happiest moments for attendees. Everything destroyed because of one selfish scumbag.
