I thought things had gone quiet onthe gun front

If you are hinting he was already dead and placed their allowing the real or multiple shooters to get away then you've never been to Vegas. Everywhere, but especially true in the Casinos there are cams everywhere. You are filmed non stop. This was true even before technology allowed for the consumer to have cams all over their car or home.
I was not hinting that he may have been "placed" there, only that he may have been dead before the shooting started. Its very easy to gain access to someone's room while they are alive and quietly dispose of them to have a base of operations to carry out a larger assault. The more reports come out of him "owning" the number of weapons he had amassed in the room, as well as what was found in his vehicle and home, as well as bomb materials..... It just doesn't add up that he would have killed himself as there was apparently more to his plan, otherwise he wouldn't have needed the extra gear and collecting it would have been an unnecessary risk to his plan. Things just don't add up as they've been told thus far.

Not to mention it has been revealed that the shooter himself set up a cam in his adjoining rooms filming himself doing the shooting.
I would like to see that video

The shooter's state of mind was clearly not an issue for the stores selling him the guns.

We can only assume that the shooter's state of mind when purchasing the goods was normal, and did not attract any special attention.
But somewhere in the system the shear number of gun permits under his name would have sent up numerous red flags. Many national alphabet soup groups dropped the ball on this situation.

-Granted, 'two-faced' was perhaps not the clearest description for not being internally or externally consistent with regards to gender but I have been watching an abundance of Gotham lately.

....Which was why I specified that I didn't think you were akin to Ben or trolling. Discrepancies don't necessarily make you a bad person. Discrepancies between fact and 'how someone chooses to ignore or repudiate those facts' do make an incompetent and self-serving one, however, but hey - human nature. Much like when someone casually references mental illness as there being no other possible reason for someone to go on a mass shooting jaunt.

Just because you don't like the reasoning process doesn't mean it isn't there. Did you see anyone here, as a for-instance, discussing why someone decides to trundle down that route? Because alls I saw was a bit of shoulder shrugging and 'must be mentally ill, no one else....".

Except there's lots else, last I checked. Mostly men who think the world owes them something that their culture subtly (and not so subtly) claims is theirs by status of birth. Be it women or that promotion they were passed over for. They consider it a long line of tiny and large indignities that others must pay for. And they're so entitled they use bullets to do it.

That's not to say there's no mental issues involved. The reasoning processes behind that sense of entitlement is taught, though. You can't medicate it as you would severe mental illnesses like depression or schizophrenia. See the difference?

I'm waiting for the results of the police investigation before speculating.

With hotel surveillance cameras all over the place, wouldn't someone have seen someone else going in or coming out?

I'm trying to understand how this was allowed to happen. Somebody, somewhere knew it was coming. He had way too many weapons NOT to be on somebody's watch-list.

Conspiracy theories are always the favourite response of many who feel the need to speculate on the reasons why.

There are many questions...but rather like the assassination of JFK we will probably never know the truth...despite recognising that there are those who are in the know.

^ @ Willie Boy: It's a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Without records to cross-reference, it's difficult to keep track.

Those watch lists are probably longer than you think. I'm certain they're longer than I think and I'm a downright cynical bastard.

There'll be a considerable number of false-positives if you're just looking down a list of 'multiple-gun owners who 'just happen to be' men' and it's not possible to quiz their belief system and what they think they're owed at the counter. Although cross referencing for 'violence against women' would be a start. Of course, that's only dependable when they're actually arrested....and the statistics on domestic violence are fairly horrific, so that's not gonna shrink the numbers terribly much, either.

we used to have common sense gun laws but the money whore republicans once they were in power reversed them---big money in the NRA---the perverse 2nd amendment interpretation has been know as bullshit for a long time---but there used to be common sense gun laws but now that this country has gone lunatic this will never happen.
2nd amendment.jpg

NRA is a lobby organization for the gun manufacturers pretending to be a lobby for gun owners.

They gave $30 million to Trump last year and they spent a total of $54.4 million in the 2016 election cycle to Republicans. They ain't gonna be poor any time soon, especially as long as Americans continue to buy more guns to protect themselves from guns.

Congress ain't gonna do anything until a few of them get fired in 2018:

oh, that is abit easier ... make sure the manufactures constantly cannot do their business because of lets say bush fire ?

I think i do ..
i mean make all the gun shops constantly unable to open their doors ...
Are you suggesting people surreptitiously squirt super glue in the door locks of their local gun shops as protest? That would be naughty, wouldn't it?

Ah, that pesky 'militia' bit - the bit that the gun supporters forget about. That amendment was so vaguely written that it has had Americans arguing for over 2 centuries.

I asked earlier which militia group Paddock belonged to. Nobody can tell me because he wasn't, and I sincerely doubt that those other mass shooters were in a militia, either.

How many more people need to die before someone figures out what the hell the 2nd Amendment means?

Yes,
what ever it takes to make sure it is really really difficult to open or do their business until all bankrupted.

So people do NOT trust the police saying the shooter did NOT do it.
what can you do ??
