I vote. Nothing changes. [SPLIT]

I disagree. I vote. Nothing changes.
Which is why things are just like 1776?

This is a lie we tell ourselves to absolve ourselves of responsibility. It fucking matters who gets elected and it fucking matters who votes. Just voting is also the least one can possibly do to participate, and if one is actually interested in making change, do more. That is also our responsibility.

I vote for whoever because they say they will do X and Y and Z. Stuff I want to happen. They win! Yea!
The get to DC and all of a sudden they can't do X and Y and Z because it offends "[Text: Removed] Polar Bears in Sweden and Finland" or some such excuse.

Things are not like they were in 1776. And you know it.

I'm not lying to myself. I vote and nothing happens. So, do more WHAT?

it fucking matters who votes
Si Senor! That's why the border is wide open. :)

I encounter a lot of people who say they don't think that voting for Republican or Democrat will improve things. I tell them that those aren't the only choices; there are a half dozen smaller parties that have come in second and occasionally won local elections, and point out that historically when a "third party" has appeared to be a real threat to the major parties those major parties have adopted significant portions of the platform of the threatening party -- so if you can't stomach voting for anyone from the "Big Two" mark your ballot for someone from a party that better represents what you believe. Even if candidates from smaller parties don't win, those votes tell the major parties that people want something different.
It's just too bad that candidates can win without an actual majority of votes cast; if an actual majority was required, change would be easier, plus I'm really sick of seeing candidates declared winners with little more than 40% of the votes cast.

The border isn't "wide open."

Do more? How about stopping complaining, getting out of the house, volunteering your time and money, becoming a candidate, working at a polling place, registering voters, going to places where people congregate and push your cause, start a PAC that advocates stopping the imaginary hordes stampeding you to pick your groceries? Normally, I'd agree with you, but not this time around. Any Democrat is necessary to stop what's happening on the right.

Last I read was 10 Million since Joe opened the border. That's what they admit to have counted. Being a Fed number, it's a lie of course.
It's been "13 million illegals in the country" since 1980. Yet, my little town has almost doubled in size and it's not white folks speaking English moving out from Leander.

It's more like 80 million illegals.

What are you running for? I'll vote for you if I can.

Nice try. I donate my time and money as a volunteer. This year, I'm volunteering at a polling place. I pass out flyers, register people at large events, and help with the campaigns I want to win, and I have been doind this for years.

Try again.

WHAT do you do> Besides complaining that nothing you do changes anything.

Plus, no source means no credit. Right-wing panic fables are like that.

I think any vote is better than none. I'm amazed at how many people don't vote even though the ballot is sent to them via mail and there are repurposed mail drop boxes you can drive up to and drop in the ballot in its envelope -- but for some once they realize they can effectively vote "Fuck you!" with a small-party vote they'll make the small effort.

By the way, 80 million illegal people would be close to 20 percent of the entire population. that is a ridiculous figure.

Here you go.

You'll notice that the great majority of people in this country without citizenship are not here illegally, and the number of people who snuck in is under a million. You'll also notice who is ginning up the fear and hysteria.

Voting fuck you right now means fascism. We can no longer afford fuck you unless we escape Toad. Fuck you only works when both major parties respect fuck you, and one party once in power will not simply arrest and execute fuck you and solve its problem that way.

It's ridiculous when people who don't vote complain about how nothing ever changes and that all politicians are the same. There is also a problem with voters who vote reflexively and never look at the people they are voting for, and then go off and complain that nothing ever changes and that all politicians are the same.

Right now, there is the possibility of a viable third on the right, but will that happen? Nope.

Hispanics officially make up the biggest share of Texas’ population, new census numbers show (The Texas Tribune; June 2023)

I'd also like to point out that those people "moving out from Leander" are fucking Americans.

This.

I just never get why right wingers are always so misinformed. Except they want to be. :ROFLMAO:

All their 'facts' are derived from the few social media pages they slaver over because, of course, they can't believe the MSM....

Yeah, they are Americans. White Americans. Now explain all of the [Text: Removed] with EBT cards. I worked at the local HEB and yeah, 80% of the Non Native English Speakers have a fucking food stamp card.

This is a great way fir Trump to be elected this year.

3rd party candidates offering nothing but bleeding votes away from Democrats could well be the ruin of their democracy.

In Canada we have the luxury of a parliamentary system and minority governments...but as we've seen in the US, between the electoral college where cows have more standing than people and presidential elections have literally been decided by some hundreds of contested votes....you have an incredibly fragile and unforgiving system in voting directly for your president.

Hey. I have a question.

Why is it that folks from south of the border, in either the US or Europe are refugees? Refugees from what? And where are their women and children? And why don't they man up and fix shit where they come from?

Why do White countries need to be "enriched" with diversity?

For the food? I can read a fucking recipe book.

In this country, especially Texas, it's about racism. Brown Texans must mean "illegal" and, therefore, illegitimate. The vast majority of Brown Texans are Americans. But that doesn't scare the racists to the polls now, does it?

[Text: Removed] '[Text: Removed]'? Maybe dial your racism down a notch?

You do know, don't you that the EBT benefits end up in the the hands of the grocers and the food producers in the US don't you?

No one illegal can get EBT benefits; that assertion looks like the bastard child of the apocryphal Black welfare queen fable and the illegal raping, stealing Mexican. But you see my point about the racism pretty clearly there.
