What is it with people not being able to read properly? I said social progress never came from religion. I didn't say social progress never came from religious people. And when they did, it was because these people had adopted progressive ideas, not because their religion told them so.

I'll even toss in another fact: opposition to and abolition of slavery in Europe began with Roman Catholic countries, mandated by papal decrees stating that slavery was an offense against God. And when the pope spoke, entire kingdoms, notably Spain, did away with slavery... because their religion told them to.

Now you've insisted that your generosity went unappreciated. You still haven't said what that was.

I get the vibe you're just saying that to justify being tight. You dismiss the charity of others, dismiss the needs of others and seem to have fabricated a story about how your own supposed generosity was a bad idea.

All I can see is someone who is tight, and mean spirited about others. You keep calling on others to prove their generosity without revealing your own.
