Indian food..mmmmm

why do so many of you like naan? i mean is it just the regular stuff...its basically just a pita bread, no?

Indian food is astonishing, especially when it's prepared with fresh (not dried) spices by a chef who really knows how to mix spices. The complexity and subtlety of the flavors, and the way they intertwine, is amazing. It doesn't need to be hot -- actually, too much heat just disguises the other flavors.

Yeah its pretty good, But I prefer middle eastern food or mexican

Indian drink..mmmmm

I like Indian food but it is lassi that I really love. Not only does it taste great but it is also a good digestive and extinguishes the heat of a spicy meal.

I got diarrhea before I even enter this post lol...I don't know why but Indian food does not agree with me...:(

Love Indian cuisine.

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

That's like saying all American bread is like WonderBread.

Mass-produced pita-style naan is nasty.
You need to try naan that's fresh baked in the tandoor in the restaurant.
I have tried regular naan, its nice but i wouldn't say anything special.

i've never tried the stuffed naan though and the other types of bread.

Love good vegetarian indian food. I live about 40 minutes away from Little India. Normally when I go there with friends, we go see a bollywood film as well. :)

I think that I like the southern indian cusine more than the northern indian cusine....well....being a vegetarian....it is just a lot easier for me.

Love me saomosas....with that sweet plum sauce and green sauce.

I love how they can make yummy veggies....they can even turn carrots into a dessert.

For those that have tried tikka..whats the difference between it and tanoori? i mean i hear it just doesn't have the bone but does it taste different?

As far as I know, it's the way it's prepared. Anything labelled tandoori food is prepared with wet marinades and rubs and dry roasted in a tandoor oven.

If I remember right, tikka specifically refers to a blend of spices to give a certain flavour. So you can differentiate between say a makhani, a tikka or a khorma.

Nah, a tikka is mostly a kind of kebab, one not minced or pounded, one not on the bone, but a succulent morsel. It might be flavored in many different ways and end up in a sauce or bread or simply with some onions and chutney.

thats what i get confused about. i've seen it as meat without bone where you dip it into sauce that comes on the side of the plate. and i've seen it as meat inside a sauce..ie very much like butter chicken
