Iraq wants us out!

So you are ready to accept what might happen if we pull out in let's say now? Or you don't give a damn what happens to the Iraqi people?

The USA shouldn't have gone in, in the first place.....
What are you arguing?
If by stay in and clean up the mess you mean clean up all the oil reserves...

You very well know that isn't what I mean. all this twisting of my words isn't called for.

Dammit I hate politics.

Politics is bullshit....and so is social "science"
Science is the only way forward!

What? -.-
They are so Buddah, right?

I'm assuming that it's the "Islamist" thing that you're talking about...

Islamist = Islamism is the ideology(s) that Islam is not only a religion but also a political system: Muslims return to Sharia, (Islamic) law, and the total rejection of western political, social, or cultural influences...like democracy and 'human rights' (and Madonna or MacDonald's).

Broadly speaking, many Americans would call it "Fundamentalism", which is a misnomer as Islam is a "fundamentalist" religion by definition...In other words all Muslims are "fundamentalist".

Sadam was not an Islamist, his bent was secular.

BTW, it's "Buddhist"

Damn, ok, as Giovanni said, politics is bullshit to the extreme.

The Iraqi people are taking care of themselves. Iraq is a lot more secure than it has ever been since the invasion. And it is the Iraqi people and law enforcement keeping the peace. It isn't at the point where they can do it themselves. But by the time Bush is kicked out on his ass, it should be.

If it's like that, then let's get the fuck then.

You (the Americans) are a hostile, unwelcome invading force. Trust me, now or later it makes little difference.

When you pull out it's likely going to be quite reminiscent of your pull-out from Vietnam: One big fucking mess. If you wait 5 years it will still be one big fuckin' mess.

BTW, Oh, so now your concern about the Iraqi people? "Shock and awe" really illustrated your concern for Iraqi civilians. Get real, this is just another excuse to justify being somewhere you don't belong trying to manage a situation you don't understand all in the name of US hegemony.

In a nut shell; You've fucked it up, You've fucked yourselves, you've fucked your economy, you've fucked the Iraqi people...Now, stop fucking around and go home.

I hate politics and people who make broad statements. That is all.

*sigh* Islam isnt any more "fundamentalist" than Christianity.

It's stupid comments like yours, that we don't get anything done in the Middle East. Stop painting everyone with a broad brush, and try learning something for a change. Jeez

He put quotation marks, meaning that, it's not his words.
You need to relax a bit.

Edit: he said "Americans" think that...not him...

Don't even attempt to chain me to this government's actions when I wasn't even for this war.

I didn't fuck up anything. All I can do is sit here and watch what happens because when it comes down to it, the government does what it wants.

Don't ever try to blame a civilian for things they have no control over again.

I think it is time for you to read the Constitution again. We are in charge of the government, and if we had voiced our opinion from the beginning, than Congress would have done something.

The thing is, he sprung this on us when we were completely for the war. He did the right thing with Afganistan, and while he was still hot, decided to go into Iraq.

I am but one man. One measly vote doesn't do anything in the grand scheme of things

I was against the war from the get-go. But I'll tell you this, I did enjoy seeing that tyrant swing from that noose after what he did to his people. Saddam's death was the only good thing that came of this war.

I just get irritated when some foreigner accuses me personally of war crimes and such like I'm sitting in a position to do something about it. Like I'm a damn politican or something.

*sigh* Islam isnt any more "fundamentalist" than Christianity.

Wrong. Typical, but wrong. "Fundamentalist" isn't a dirty word. It has a meaning. By definition Islam is a fundamentalist religion. And BTW, Christianity isn't a fundamentalist religion, as much as some Christians would like it to be.

It's not semantics, it's not bigotry, it's having a grasp of what the words you're using ACTUALLY mean, not what you think they mean.

Oh, and Sadam was not secular. He was just smart. He was mostly either Sunni or Shite and the opposite of whatever he was was severely prosecuted. That was one of the causes of all the violence in Iraq. With Sadam gone, the other side could get the revenge they wanted.

You know about as much as the stupid tools that got the US into this mess. In other words, S.F.A..

For the records, I'm not stupid, nor is my comment...My first degree (With honours BTW) suggest I have more than a CNN informed opinion on the matter. I suggest you get a clue and stop jumping to conclusions about my motives! (vis a via my "fundamentalist" comment)

One man can't do anything. If you feel passionately about something, you mobilize others who feel the same way you do, and then peacefully fight for your rights. It is being seen all over the country. Republican incumbents are loosing their seats, more younger smarter people are taking the reigns, and change is coming.

One man didn't make the United States of America. Several did.

It's reasuring to see that after 8 years, trillions of dollars and tens of thousands of civilian lives...Som amny Americans still don't have a clue what, exactly they got themselves into, or in for.

Far be it from me. Carry on!

I'm going to get a blow-job from my husband.

If by fundamentalism, you mean deeply routed in your religion. Than yes they are, so are christians. Are at least they are supposed to be.

And I know what fundamentalism mean. You only need to look at what Andreus wrote on here to know, not every person who follows Islam is a fundamentalist. I know a few Muslims who don't care what I do at all. They aren't coming at me with pitch forks and string.

n.

1. A usually religious movement or point of view characterized by a return to fundamental principles, by rigid adherence to those principles, and often by intolerance of other views and opposition to secularism

3. strict adherence to any set of basic ideas or principles: the fundamentalism of the extreme conservatives.

That, all muslims are not.

Degree in what? You didn't say. You also didn't define what fundamentalism "really is"

and i never called you stupid, i called your comment stupid. I don't base an entire persons intelligence on one statement.

Doesn't one feel its the Republicans, who feel one person can't make a difference, b/c they no longer have a free pass. I feel the change that's happening in this country is coming from the left.
So how many pages? 2, 3, 4? I am thinking 4 or 5 pages. This is a hot debate, and a lot of people are participating. It hasn't descended into chaos...yet. But you definitely know those prudish Jubbers have already started reporting posts.
