Elon Musk is claiming that he backtracked from his plans to create and consult a "content moderation council" before reinstating banned Twitter accounts because "a large coalition of political/social activist groups ... broke the deal...."

I would love to see Apple de-platform Twitter...but everything that I am reading tells me that Twitter is doing it on their own.

And of course...Elon appears incapable of distinguishing what advertisers will support as free speech versus what they consider hate speech that could damage their own brands.
 
Musk also has the same problem as a lot of other right wingers have understanding that advertisers deciding where they will put their money is also free speech.

There is this weirdest entitlement complex that exists in media.

At the moment, the right wingers are savaging Cook with Tweets and swearing they will throw away their iPhones if Apple drops Twitter, while Cook just seems to be ignoring Musk entirely (the real one anyway).
 
I wonder what Tim Cook (a phalanx of lawyers) threatened Musk with if he didn't retract.
