If you are watching Colbert, you know that he is no holds barred in his contempt for Trump and his SS minions.

His Christmas is Cancelled animated piece on the final show of the season with Nick Offerman narrating was delicious but savage.

Trump has now apparently either watched it or has had his Sharpei watch it and issue another threat against Colbert.

We have been saying over the last few months that we expect the Ellisons to suddenly pull the plug and stop Colbert from broadcasting although I expect there is a big kill switch and expensive lawsuit if they do.

Will the Ellisons' need for Trump's blessing on the Warner-Discovery hostile takeover lead them to do what they did for the 60 Minutes episode?

Not sure who is seeing Colbert. Many of us already deleted ABC, CBS, & NBC from our viewing. They cannot be supported.

He is actually the only show we watch on network television on our Canadian feed. And we watch in order to see him skewer TrumpCo. every night and to see him encourage people to resist no matter the cost.

The NY Times just goes through the same Rolodex of voters who help them build the narrative they want to create.

I get tracking an everyman voter, but why do I think the guy doesn't even exist except as some writer's avatar?

This perfectly captures what I was trying to express about the problem with Bari Weiss.
She has no standards. Never has. And that spells disaster for CBS.

She represents the worst common denominator of 'news' merchants.

Another epitaph for CBS News.

And it flags one of the main problems of Weiss's decision.

"Weiss is right, of course, that journalists should work hard to capture “genuine debate.” But the CECOT segment was not about the legal issues around deporting people to the prison. It was about what happened to them once they got there: food deprivation, stress positions, isolation. Torture."

Which makes her capitulation to her bosses and TrumpCo. and her subsequent finger wagging more nakedly problematic.

No matter how you frame her decision on this, it was the moment that CBS News lost any credibility as a premier source of news.

The best part? The streisand effect as noted in a post above. It likely is the most watched piece in 60 Minutes' history.

He is the ultimate Trump era DEI hire. He gave the news a 9% bump in viewers for the first show...but I suspect that his cringe moments likely resulted in a lot of them just being one time viewers who were just interested to see how he would do.
