I have no time for present day pop music.

To me, it's just a lot of racist, sexist, rip-off rubbish.

What do you think?

I still laugh at when the mothers of Notorious BIG and the other rapper who got shot at the same time (who's name I dont' care enough to remember) got up on stage at the MTV awards and said they were proud of their son's contributios to "the arts."

I'm like "Miss thing, rhyming 'hootie' and 'bootie' isn't The Arts, it's just stupid people bragging about getting laid and doing drugs."

yes, pop music sucks. Although there's plenty of good stuff out there.

Give me Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Ritchie Valens any day.

i'm a little of the beaten trail with music. i can't stand most of todays music. my boyfriend loves umbrella by whats her name, and every time he makes me listen to it, i make him listen to Scott Simmons' version. much better. he seems to put more of himslef into it. it sound real. i think thats what music is missing today.

i was going to put the youtube here, but my computer is being all slow.

There is lots of good pop music still being mad.... but there is lots of bland personality free pop music too like rihanna.

On the plus side, the gigantic amounts of shit out there make those occasional gems which come through so much better.

However, it IS a gigantic amount of shit...

most pop music is crap. Especially that r&b stuff on the air. That new song with usher and r. kelly and singing while over the phone. How do people buy that crap. Like I have said before, I have concluded that most people are stupid.

I think I'm over these "two sentence proclamation/what do YOU think" threads. :D

All pop music is crap! Listen to Korpiklaani, you'll have seen the light!

Folk metal with accordion solos! It's the way forward, I tell you!

I think we are in an excellent era for pop music. There are always people who complain about how much "pop sucks" and how much better underground music is in EVERY ERA, so I don't take those people seriously. Of course there's crap on the radio, but there's lots of great, musically inventive stuff as well.

This is such an ignorant comment. You've obviously never listened to Ready to Die.

I worked in purchasing for a record store. I heard that crap pile plenty of times to know that it was just someone bragging about how bad day be.

Again, you've obviously never listened to Ready to Die. That, or you are incredibly dense. That album is so nuanced, so conflicted, B.I.G.'s wordplay and rhyme schemes are REALLY impressive, and it's a pretty harrowing and smart account of life in the inner-city. To try and boil it down to "bitches and 'hos" is just wrong on so many levels.

plain, un- adulterated pure crap, every fucking last note of it, regardless of its genre - and that's just the beginning of my :grrr::grrr:

and then we wonder what is wrong with our children that are trying to grow up:cry:.
