Is Pokemon Go still a 'thing'?

Re: Pokemon Go is an accident or worse waiting to happen

I'm already sick of scrolling past dozens and dozens of puke-a-mon posts on Facebook, or having people obsess on and on about it. I can't wait for this stupid fad to disappear. Even if you don't give a shit about puke-a-mon, you still can't escape all the news about it. Everywhere you go, everyone is going on and on about catching pikachus and cuntshits and rogjogjogjgos, and I just don't give a shit.

Re: Pokemon Go is an accident or worse waiting to happen

Why is it only Kanto/Johto pokemon though?

To me they are overrated, and the more silly and funny pokemon are the more newer ones.

Re: Pokemon Go is an accident or worse waiting to happen

It's being reported here that it's only in the USA, Australia and New Zealand so far. Now they're going to hold off other countries until some of the bugs are ironed out. Been walking around the city here and every second person is looking down at their phones. This is a craze of epic proportions. It was the lead item on our news last night (which probably gives you an idea that not much of importance happened yesterday in NZ).

Re: Pokemon Go is an accident or worse waiting to happen

Really, is it much different that pedestrians walking along with their faces buried in their cell phones with no idea of what is going on around them? That's why they fall down stairs or into water fountains or, worse, into traffic.

Really!? You must be living in one heck of a neighbourhood :rotflmao:

Whatever. Xbox One is better than your stupid PS4 anyways. No external memory? Are you shitting me?

Mines collecting dust somewhere. You've reminded me to give it a good dusting later on:)

Just like any other mobile game they have plenty of room to expand. They all do that for a reason.

Re: Pokemon Go is an accident or worse waiting to happen

I'm sorry I'll pass on that shit. I'll stick to playing the game boy version.

I wouldn't want to risk getting hit by car trying to catch a Pikachu.

Oh lord, Jesus please pray for these people that are playing this Pokemon Go crap that they use common sense.

Every "risk" I can think of that people are fussing about with regards to this app is the same risk that exists everytime you walk or drive anywhere or leave your house for any reason at all.

Have we really gotten to the point of shunning leaving the house as something dangerous and reckless?

I don't think it's as much the risk as it is the blatant trespassing. As soon as you step onto someone's property without permission, you are trespassing. One kid paid for that with his life.

Re: Pokemon Go is an accident or worse waiting to happen

What I find strange about it is how many people seem eager to be part of the same phenomenon. It's as though everyone is back in middle-school, and suddenly head-bands are popular, so everyone is wearing head-bands. (I suppose that makes me one of the goth kids, ridiculing the mainstream. ).

Re: Pokemon Go is an accident or worse waiting to happen

I think for most people it is nostalgia and because a lot of people I know that are playing it also played the game on game boy/color/advance/DS and 3ds. Pokemon is already popular before this came out so it isn't really a surprise.

Although it does seem like it is grabbing people who normally wouldn't touch another Pokemon game.

For me, it's because most of the games out are just WAY too fast, too violent, you need too much coordination manipulating 50 different keys on the keyboard at the same time, too complex... I could NEVER play HALO or something similar. But this... so far... is just my speed. WALK around. Point. Click. Collect. And it's cute to see their world overlayed in our world. I could see a Zelda game being made in much the same way so we could be Link.

Really? I LOVE Kanto :) Oddish is my favorite of all time lol. Also Kanto is actually inspired-off real life - The Kyushu Islands of Japan :)

Thanks for saying this. It’s so frustrating because it’s just so easy to place any blame on developers and those who are in the game/ art industry for just about anything like violence or parental neglect or whatever. Never mind that we put half of our lives and hard work into it plus the crappy pay. Though, it’s usually the developers who file the lawsuits lol.

Also ironically, there are more bathroom related deaths for those who find the outdoors “too dangerous”.

Re: Pokemon Go is an accident or worse waiting to happen

Oh, the memories. But I can hear the kids saying, "What in heck is that!?"

Sigh...Zelda is a long-standing, and very popular franchise for Nintendo. Anyone who had a N64 remembers Zelda games like Orcarnia of Time and Majora's Mask that we're both insanely popular and amazing. Hell, Nintendo even made remakes of them and put them on the 3DS, that also sold ridiculously well and I'm not even including the console games sold after OoT and MM, or the latest installment of the franchise, Breath of the Wild(not yet released). So if this model of Pokemon does well enough Nintendo might consider doing something similar withe Zelda, but it could be a flop too.

Pokemon, whether you want to talk about the video games or the cartoons, takes place everywhere from modern urban centers, to tiny villages, to remote rural environments. It's easy to create a believable real-world overlay with that. Zelda on the other hand, takes place in a society similar to medieval Europe. Some Zelda fans might cringe at the idea of battling Ganon in Times Square. It doesn't have that easy believability punch to it.

I thought much of Zelda's appeal wasn't so much fighting as it was (much like Pokemon) in the searching and finding of items and solving puzzles... money.

I think if done right has the potential to be a LOT of fun.

SNES and Gameboy were my fave Zelda's.

Is there an adult gay version of POKEMON GO ???

That should be fun to see where the gays are,
while walking around on the street or in the park

Re: Is there an adult gay version of POKEMON GO ???

Wow, what a wonderful idea! How are five or six apps like this already not on the market?!!

All the other apps don't show where each persons are which is not good.
