Islam: Rape Of Male Children As Told By A Survivor

I did read quite some books by Abdellah Taïa. Reading his books learns he hardly actually feels any hatred for his family, only love. That guy is pure gold.

"Apologists say that Bacha Bazi or 'Boy Play' is a very old cultural practice in Afghanistan and part of that nation's mainstream.

Citing the Afghanistan strategy review, Vice President Joe Biden reported "great progress" in the counterterrorism effort that has significantly degraded al-Qaeda and the Taliban, particularly their leadership. Lagging behind, he said, is progress on the counterinsurgency front – eliminating terrorist safe havens in Pakistan and building a stable Afghan government.

However, not once did Biden – nor Defense Secretary Leon Panetta -- mention Afghanistan's dirty secret – a large number of pedophiles and pederasts among the Afghan male population.

I have heard very, very sick stories from troops that served on front-lines about wide spread rape of boys in Afghanistan. U.S./NATO forces ignore this issue because of political pressure. In Kabul, kidnapping of boys is a very common problem. Girls are safe, but boys are kidnapped and raped by adult male population. If two married men have sex it's frowned upon and can lead to death, but for adult males to have sex with boys is OK. :(

Since pedophile is taboo and so horrible in the US and western countries,
why are they so silent in Afghanistan ?

The double standards are so over whelming.

@ RaKroma

In Europe you can speak about girl rape in migrated communities, but when you dare to speak about boy rape, the say you're a racist.

The double standards from U.S./NATO countries involved in the war front is slightly understandable. We are just desperate to have that zoo stabilized so that Islamist radical groups can no longer use that lawless land to train and conduct global operations. What Afghanistan does as a society is not a priority. As soon as our politicians will speak out against child rape, abuse of women, Afghans go nuts thinking that the West is invading their scared culture.

The double standards I don't understand is the lack of effort from human rights organizations and intellectuals to take more proactive approach on these issues. There is fear of "offending" Islamic cultures and and religion.

Shocking!! But hold on, cause it's going to get a lot worse on this planet before it gets any better.

It's not Islamic, IMHO, it's an issue of poverty, "underdeveloped" societies (whatever that may mean) etc.

There was institutionalised pederasty in Ancient Greece, which we hold up as a kind-of example of democratic government. I read somewhere that in Sparta, a pederast was the legal attorney of his boy.

I guess it's an issue of how women are regared. If women are a piece of property, "owned" by their families and sold off (undamaged) into a marriage, the only sexual outlet available is boys. Terrible, to be sure, but not limited to Afghanistan and totally unconnected to Islam as religious teachings go, AFAIK.
The idea that all human lives are precious is a rather modern one. In pre-modern societies, such as Afghanistan appears to be, it looks to me like people are more of a commodity.

NATO countries speaking out against it won't help an iota (especially since people confuse their religion with their tribal traditions and get all up in arms about any so-called cultural invasion). I would just hope that any victims get asylum in a Western country, I don't see any other way to help except fund education programmes... wait, we're not there to nation-build. Bummer.

The Islamaphobes never miss a chance to slander 1 billion people. So shameful.

I never miss a chance to call out people that rape children and beat women. Too bad if you find that a problem!

Feel free stand with them, if you like! They're quite fond of gay people, too!

But that's not what you did. Your comment was about their faith in general.

What you said is no different than if I were to say that Christianity is a horrid faith because of this guy.

Unless you seriously think that all Muslims are rapists (which would be even more ignorant and nonsensical) then you just insulted a billion people because of the actions of a few who share their faith that were especially heinous. It's the same shit we saw after 9/11.

Your suggestion that I support rapists is an equally offensive nugget, but one Islamophobes often turn to when confronted with the magnitude of their insults.

Rape, spousal abuse, and child molestation are all clearly prohibited under Islamic law. Anyone who claims to perform such acts in the name of Islam is lying.
