Unfortunately, that's what I suspect- the omission of those years from opening post from the 2017 thread makes me believe that those database crashes that happened before 2018 probably resulted in the loss of those threads. I don't recall the Fakes thread specifically but I know that many of us from the mod team who went through those database crashes in vBulletin were shocked by the number of big threads that were lost when that happened.

The Garden of Memories threads were recovered from Google cache or Archive.org and recreated. I've used those tools to recover linked images and other files. That would be the only option to find content from threads that were deleted.

That’s such a shame. From my experience, Wayback usually only seems to capture the first page or two of a thread; the 2010 one you linked had over 200 pages. :(

Thanks so much for your help, KaraBulut. Very much appreciated.

In the old Private Messages we could have folders where we could sort out messages -

But I see in "Conversations" those messages in the folders did not get imported or are they hidden somewhere? I had a few PM's that I had save with links I liked to check back on. Are those gone or can I just not find it?

In xenForo, private messages aren't a one-record entity like they were in the old forum. Instead it's a thread like a forum thread. Old PMs were converted to conversation threads and when you start a new conversation with someone, you'll see your messages and the other persons' messages in a single thread, like in the forums.

I say "persons'" because based upon your post count, you can invite additional people to the conversation. So, if you start a conversation with member "B" and you decide you want to include member "C", you can add member "C" and they'll see all of the messages back-and-forth from the beginning of the Conversation.

I see that is how the new conversations work - what I am wondering is what happened to what was in those other folders when the new version was launched. My old private messages that were in the main box are still there - but not any of the messages that were in the folders.

It's all related. Because the new format is a continuous thread, there's no longer a need for inbox/sent boxes. Does that make sense?

The old messages are there but they're conversation threads now. The one weakness of the conversion is that because the old messages weren't linked in the database, they converted as individual conversations.

I was looking for our Black & White Photo thread (don't recall the exact title). Tried various searches, and went back through 2017 in my "watched" threads. Didn't find it.
Did I miss it somewhere, or has it gone *POOF!*?

I may have gone poof in the circa 2018 database crash.

Was it a porn thread?

Not porn, per se ...
B&W Pics of nude dudes, artsy stuff, and such ...
I think it was in "Hot Guys" Forum ... (?)

I think we've got some fixing to do on this thread but it's here:

Hopefully, it can be more fully recovered ...

Another thread that is eluding me ...
I think it was titled something like: Precum, Cock Syrup, Dick Dew. It was one I had started ...

When I came onto JUB today it said error and not private and could have username or password so I thought what's this so then I went to my history page on my internet and went to yesterday's stuff in my history and I click on JUB and it brought me right to JUB forum. I thought I wasn't gonna be able to get on here but I wasn't gonna click on anything that I don't know.

Both my phone and laptop are showing this message.

I received warnings when clicking on my JUB shortcut in my browser bar. Same one I always use. Suggests the site's certs are not right somehow today:

JUB 1.JPG

JUB 2.JPG

My browser hasn't updated, and I haven't changed security settings or touched cookies.

You might update the address https://forums.justusboys.com/ and see if that resolves the issue.

When we updated the forum, the URL changed. Currently, if you use the old WWW/.../FORUM address, we forward you to the FORUMS URL. It appears that maybe your browser is responding to the URL forwarding? If it continues to be a problem, we'll have the hosting service check to see what the issue is.

I had the same problem when I entered "justusboys.com". I then googled just us boys and clicked on forums, and got in no problem.

Thank you. I will.

Looking at my shortcut, that appears to be the issue. I'm wondering how it got inverted. Does that mean my shortcut predated the new software?

And why didn't it show up the dozens of times I've used the shortcut since the conversion?

When we switched from vBulletin to xenForo, BluMedia also made changes to the old JustUsBoys site to integrate the forum into the main JUB site where all the porn is.

The two sites are supposed to be transparent and we do things on the server level to make it work no matter which URL you enter.

Something is going on with the WWW part of the site which runs on a different server. I just notified BluMedia.. We're also getting spambot attacks from Iran and Russia this morning, which makes me wonder if it is connected to the attacks.
