Just to clarify: what type of email did you receive?
This should be fixed. The software is great but has some issues and limitations.

Is it just me, or are there now strips of advertising between every two or three posts in every thread for everyone?
I'm finding this way too intrusive. Is there any way of getting rid of the advertising or at least restricting it to the top or bottom of the page? I'm certainly not interested in clicking on any of it.

The new forum software turns ads on or off based upon whether you're a JUB Supporter and/or whether you are in one of the top tier usergroups with a high post count.
In general, the easiest way to get rid of ads is to become a JUB Supporter.
Some ads should be suppressed for members who have high post counts, so let me check with @JUB to see if that particular ad should be hidden for you.

They should be gone now (for JUB Supporters) and members with higher post counts.
Thanks for trying, but I'm afraid the ads are still there. What sort of post count brings someone within the higher category?

I think the advertising suppression tier is the JUB Addict tier - 1,000 posts and some or all of the ads should be eliminated. JUB Supporter status eliminates all ads.

I have long trained myself to turn off ads. Since I mostly stream (Netflix ) no ads. When I do watch broadcast, the switch is off. I am used to them here. I drive right past them.

I've seen that before but maybe cause your new on here you'll have to get enough posts so your able to view someone's profile
