Jean Grey- The Phoenix

i loved her look in the new movie! i loved that make-up they did on her to make her look zombieish. she looked so cool in that house scene where they span over her slow motion. i never thought the actress was a good choice for jean grey untill this 3rd one came out.
what's up with the ultimate jean grey? did she become phoenix? i have not kept up with buying the comics cause i always thought too many came out a month. there use to be only two titles and i collected the x-men from 1994 till at least 2000. than the comic price went to high a long with the high volume of x titles. i saw the new gay story line in ultimate book and thought that was great.wolverine is in way to many books also. it's hard to keep up with story lines. also how did racheal summers come to take over as phoenix? missed all that. fill me in on everything! thanks :D

Ultimate Jean Grey has manifested the Phoenix ever since she became its host in a ritual performed by the Hellfire Club. She turned on them, however, and started to change things for the good (changing people's minds), but Xavier stopped her and controlled Phoenix because Jean was acting like a God when these things should be voluntary, not forced actions.

She uses the Phoenix under times of great duress (stopping a nuclear reactor from exploding and lifting it). Curently a Church called the Shi'ar who worship the Phoenix (headed by Priestess Liliandra) are willing to give money and technology to Xavier's school if they can study Jean and find out if she really is an avatar of the Phoenix.

The Phoenix was waged war upon by countless races inthe padt trying to destroy.harness it. Several decades later, they trapped it within a prison of rock an that rock slowly developed life because of the Phoenix inside it and became Earth.

In 616, rachel isn't the Phoenix. She just seems t have TK/TP signatures that are visibly akin to the Phoenix force, but it is a certain fact that she doesn't (at least, no longer) wield the Phoenix Force. Right now it's just Jean and this unrevealed Stepford Cuckoo. Who will it be? Celeste, Mindee, or Phoebe?

Marvel, that's a great question. I think she'll stay young, because she'll just revert (I assume) to her flesh form version of her diamond version. But she could also just age rapidly...::shrug::

In new X-Men she and Hank were stranded in the ocean, so she shifted to diamond and didn't need sustainance.

Is Claremont making Betsy more powerful than Rachel? Because that would just be weird.

As for the mysterious Cuckoo (Mindee is my favorite, she's the most human after all) who inherited the force, I'm sure I remember Quesada saying in his Cup o' Joe's that judging from the sucess of the first Endsong, a sequel regarding this won't be highly unlikely. Also, X-Editor Marts promised we'd being seeing more of them this year (I just not hope as body bags in New X-Men).

But wouldn't it kind of undo the whole metaphor that Jean and the Phoenix are one entity now? Which oddly enough was also tackled in the Endsong...

Anyway, it would be cool to see a future where Emma is still alive, only she needs to be perennially in diamond form to do so.

Ina sense, he is because no psychic powers can work on Betsy anymore thanks to Jamie. but either way, Jamie's probably as strong as Franklin Richards, what with his ability to change reality. So it would go without saying that since Rachel's TK can't stop these magic lizards that are stealing souls right now and only Betsy's powers have been tailored to the threat that yes, Besty is now stronger than Rachel.

But remember what Emma said:

"Power isn't the key for the likes of us. It's skill and training and will. All of which I posess in abundance. Whatever you believe, Marvel Girl, whatever the future may hold, you are not my equal."

Rachel is powerful, but she lacks training. In fact, she's never been able to harness the Pheonix force compeltely, only a fraction that boosts her powers.

That would likely be because of her hellish future upbringing at the hands of Ahab. I think that Emma has the advantage of experience with TP, but that Rachel could have been a decent match if she had Jean's training. However, Rachel could probably give Cerebra a run for the money, as Rachel was forced to hunt down other mutants...

Emma Frost is a comic character that continues to pose numerous questions. There seems to be little that we actually understand about her.

Emma Frost:
:Telepath with secondary mutation that allows her to morph into a organic diamond
:Her relationship with her family is "strained" at best (I mean come on she killed her sister)
:Has now and will forever have a continuing rivalry with Jean Grey.
:She's a natural brunette
:The students she teaches tend to die while under her tutelage.
:She's a "reformed" ex-villain(or so she leads us to think)
:Has a down right odd relationship with Scott Summers(Does anyone know what she actually did to him in Astonishing X-Men?)
:Has/had a mother-child relationship with the Stepford Cuckoos,Hellion,Angel Salvatore

Oh and what is up with her and Cassandra Nova?

I'll answer your questions with one paragraph:

In Astonishing, they show a flashback before Cassandra destroyed Genosha. She tells Emma about her plans and Emma asks her what makes her think she'll let her do this. Cassadra replies that Emma is no match for her and that Emma will let her ebcause Emma is a predator and will dow hat it takes to survive. Cassandra and her sentinels will give her a secondary mutation of a diamond form so that she survives the massacre. In return, Emma will remember nothing of their meeting and will become a sleeper cell within the X-Men and will remember when the time is proper. When Emma leaves the X-Mansion and tells the cab to stop and reappears, that is when Cassandra reminded her of her debt to fuill and Emma (we suppose) snapped Cassandra's neck when she knew it was Charles. The Hellfire Club informs her that the time for the cheurade is over and a hodded figure called Perfection tells her that it's her turn. So Emma is starting to mindfuck everybody on the team. Starting with Scott, she forces him to revisit the time when he actually decided as a child not to cotnrol his powers because there was so much chaos and trauma in his life that if he 'couldn't' control his powers, then he would always be in control by having to keep them in check. This is the core of everything that Scott is now, his insecurities and his pride, and once Emma tells him to let go of that choice, his whole personality unravels leaving him a drooling vegetable. However, along with this, Scott can now control his optic blasts sinc ehis eyes are open and no beams are shooting out of it.

Oh ok thanks Luminum.I personally would like to keep Emma as a good girl, but I know that her personality and nature are that of a very bad girl.I can't wait to see what exactly she will do to the other members of the x-men.

I want her to be reluctantly bad....I love you, Emma. Don't become all evil. I love Emmott/Scomma...

Did I mention that it's confirmed that through all of this, Emma still loves Scott? Cassandra makes fun of her for it, but as she walks to go fuck around with Scott's head, Perfection appears and comments on how not even Cassandra the amazing psychic understands that Emma really loves Scott. Emma replies, "With all my predator's heart."

Oh Emma...*weep

Mindfuck or otherwise, I just don't want Emma to die.

By the way, if someone is immune to TP, is he/she automatically immune to TK? Like when the the Shi'ar Super-guardians attacked the institute in New X-Men, Guardian told Jean that she shouldn't fight because he had mind shields on. So, micro-sentinels her from the inside-out aside, why doesn't she just skip the brain fuck and de-atomize him?

On a related note, the Endsong sequel atply titled Warsong has been previewed in IGN Comics, you all should check it out. Too bad Land isn't on pencils though, but it looks promising enough.

You know, I think TK is different from TP, since it focuses on other things, but according to New X-Men, one of the imperial guard who goes after Jean says that she has mind armor, so she's immune to Jean's TK. But then Jean just ebats the crap out of her in hand-to-hand.

Those preview scans are awesome! I totally didn't expect Phoenix Emma again! I thought it went after a Cuckoo...and Emma gaining TK?! Fuck YES!

::excited like a happy puppy::

Mind armor, psychic shields, maybe they prevent psychics from exerting any sort of energy towards them; TP or TK. Of course, that would still mean that TKs could just chuck some heavy stuff at them.

And I'm thinking Phoenix Frost is just a nightmare, a residual from when she was posessed. I want to see a Cuckoo get Phoenixified, the sisters are Weapon IV, so I'm betting they can handle it.

Weapon IV? I have no idea what that means. I think it's probably residual, but that wake up scene where Emma floats is a bit confusing...

But I love the Cuckoos. I can't decide whether or not I liked them better as 5 in 1 or 3 in 1. They're costume is awesome now and I see from the credits that they're in X-Men Legends II. I can't wait to meet them.

I saw the art for Warsong and OMG!Pheonix Emma was literaly smoking hot.YAY Emma got a power boost!:-) (!) But where oh where have our Cuckoos gone:(?

Oh and just to let everyone know there will be a couple of X-Men spinoffs. Here are some that are known.

Wolverine
Magneto
Mystique(Rebecca Romjin was approached about it)

Emma Frost....Yep you read me there is supposed to be a Emma frost film.It is suspected to be released sometime in 2007 and no word on who will play Emma.

Yeah, here's a pic from the What if...? second series. Instead of Jean (who had been knocked out), Ororo offered to pilot the ship with her weather control. It failed and everyone but Wolverin died. Storm emerged as Stormphoenix and had complete elemental control. She made a benevolent dictatorship and had young mutants come to her side and froze the superheroes who opposed her in the atmosphere. Those that remained (superheroes and her follower, Kitty) opposed her when she became detached and cruel towards her subjects and humanity and foudn the real Storm in a healing cocoon in the ship wreckage. They confronted her, which shocked Stormphoenix back into reality, causing her to leave the Earth, but the real Storm died because the strainw as too much on the comatose body in the cocoon.

Sorry, here's your pic:

The waking up scene is probably a part of her wacky dream. I think the last thing the X-Men need is another super-powered, telekinetic femme fatale. Besides, the more power they wield, the less creative they (and the writers) become, so instead of "I can't believe she did that!" moments like when Emma drop-kicked Leech into the next century to regain her powers and figh off the Morlocks, we only get "hey, did she just atomize him? Okay. Next..."

The Stepford costumes in the Endsong were fucking smoking, I mean wow - - talk about X-jailbait. Anyway, remember how Weapon X is actually Weapon Ten? Well, from two small clues in New X-Men, Grant kind of revealed that the Stepfords were actually Weapon fourteen. One in a small panel in "Here Comes Tomorrow", and two when Esme saw Weapon Thirteen before he attacked Xorneto.

Besides, the kids have been insiniuated to have A-grade healing factor - - nigh immortality actually, which is something only the Weapon program subects and good ol' Nick Fury have.

On a side note, I have to say that I'm against an Emma Frost movie. I dunno, but it's like they're literally turning the movie industry into a comic industry (X-Titles everywhere!). And we all know how many X-Titles out here aren't exactly top notch.

Woah, where are you getting all this Cuckoo information? I've heard nothing about their healing factor. The only facts I have about them are their telepathic abilites, their names, and that they all came from different parents.

Clue me in on these Weapon XIV hints.
