Well for folks tired of the Duggar Family antics, they're finally being pulled off the airwaves.

The popular reality TV show "19 Kids and Counting" was yanked off the air Friday following revelations that one of the show's stars had molested several girls when he was a teenager.

TLC, which has televised the show since 2008, decided it would not be appropriate to continue showing repeats amid news coverage of the scandal. Earlier in the day on Friday, General Mills had said it would pull all of its planned ads from the show.

"Effective immediately, TLC has pulled all episodes of '19 Kids and Counting' currently from the air," the channel said. "We are deeply saddened and troubled by this heartbreaking situation, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and victims at this difficult time."

19 kids, imagine all the tax allowances and benefits that these attention whore parents get to reduce their tax liability. Why teabaggers aren't up in arms having to subsidize the frolicking clown bus and randy dandy pants, one shall never know.

I have a hard time thinking that many parents would call the cops on their 14 year old son, that's not to say that they shouldn't... but it would be hard to do.
They probably got bad advise from their church, inasmuch as fundamentalist groups have an aversion to secular phycology.
The question that looms is if this guy is a pedo or if he was just a stupid immature 14 yr. old with his hormones in control.
What he did was molestation because of the age difference, does he still have the same impulses? I hope not.

I'm going to assume this response is pure baiting, because otherwise it's just plain frightening. There's nothing about "playing" with a teenager sexually molesting 4 of his sisters & another child who wasn't one of the siblings.

Um... he wasn't "playing doctor." That's the weakest defense I've heard so far.

I grew up on my sister's farm and I don't think we ever had a cow, horse, dog, cat, or other animal bred 19 times to enrich my sister's household (which depended on new calves to grow and become milk producers). The fact that these people are nothing more than baby breeders is disgusting to me. I've had friends come from large families and I did, too (7 brothers and sisters). But my experience (as a police investigator) with these super-large types of families is that there are all sorts of horrors for many in the family. Incest, warped "Christianity" and education that denigrates females and urges silence when anything happens are rather normal.

Sadly, I know too many others who put these people on a pedestal and emulate the behaviors (including my ex-wife). They view God as promising to enrich everyone through his "Prosperity Gospel." Sadly, if they actually read their scripture, he promised everyone a cross, not riches. These people are held up as models of success but their existence and livelihood depends on fooling all around them that life is perfect, their children are perfect, their household is perfect, etc, etc. Yet the poor woman working three jobs to feed her kids and shelter them in a single-parent family is looked down upon and viewed as a burden on society; a "welfare queen." Let's take away the television show and see how this family fares on regular work.....

You do realize that throughout most of human history the bearing and begetting of children, large numbers of them, in fact, has been the norm? Is it your intention to posit based on anecdotes from your personal experience that incest is prevalent in large families or religiously conservative ones? Or have I misread you...

Whether or not incest is common in large families is irrelevant in our modern day. Fact: The world is overpopulated and does not have enough resources to sustain human life if it's numbers continue to grow at projected rates.

That is what makes the Dugar's disgusting even if they actually had bothered to get their son the help he needed(which they didn't).

I think the Duggars are disgusting because they are anti-traditional radicals (Anti-traditional radicals disgust me whether they are creatures of the left or the right) not because they accept that pregnancy, lactation, and whelping are the normal and natural outcomes of what my grandmother used to call the marriage act, but has recently started calling sex.

Overpopulation is real and concerning. So too is the aging of the populations of the wealthy countries.

No, I'm kidding. Paleo-cons, neo-cons, the radical left, Nazis, communists, radical environmentalists, Foucault's hand maidens, most of Post-Modernism, libertarians, anarcho-capitslists, nihilists, the New Atheists, persons overly enamored with the movements and theories of the 18th century's so-called enlightenment, Hayek, Christo-Fascists, white nationalists, Islamists, really nearly everyone who has had a part in the dismantling of Western Civilization in the last century or so.

I want to add clear exceptions for the equality before the law movements of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries (queer folk, women, brown folk); but some allies in these three movements also for various reasons would fall into the camp of anti-traditional radical (think prohibition, radical feminists, much of the public thought on the left since the sixties where it seeks not merely to improve traditional structures and institutions by forcing them to be of benefit to groups formerly oppressed and marginalized by them, but seeks instead the actual destruction of said institutions).

So then, essentially everyone who is not a small c conservative or a classical liberal. With the caveat that no one is ideologically pure and ideological purity is not desirable, one does not wish to be trapped under the weight of a theory.

Interesting. While mousing around the interwebs randomly, I ran upon this... KMOV-TV Channel 4 in St. Louis has relayed onto its website an article by Associated Press reporter Allen Reed. What the Yahoo article does NOT mention, that the KMOV-relayed AP article does mention, is that somebody apparently tried to make this report go away all together.

Also Friday, Arkansas police said they had destroyed a record outlining a nearly decade-old investigation into Duggar, a day after the 27-year-old resigned his role with a prominent conservative Christian group amid reports about the allegations.

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, which obtained the offense report before its destruction, reports Duggar was accused of fondling five girls in 2002 and 2003. Duggar issued an apology Thursday on Facebook for unspecified bad behavior as a youth and resigned his role as executive director for FRC Action, the tax-exempt legislative action arm of the Washington-based Family Research Council.

The report, originally published by tabloid In Touch Weekly, states that a member of Harpo Studios, the producer of Oprah Winfrey's then show, received an email containing the allegations before the family was set to appear in 2006. The tipster warned producers against allowing the Duggars on the show and studio staff members faxed a copy of the email to Arkansas State Police.

Springdale Police spokesman Scott Lewis said Judge Stacey Zimmerman ordered the 2006 offense report destroyed Thursday. Zimmerman didn't return a request for comment on Friday.

"The judge ordered us yesterday to expunge that record," Lewis said, adding that similar records are typically kept indefinitely. "As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned this report doesn't exist."

Neither Duggar nor his father, a former state representative, returned calls seeking comment Friday.

It would appear that somebody, perhaps quite a few people, tried to make this report go away before it went public and viral.
