Killer drone strikes again

I love the mix of reactions in here.

I do find it ironic that kicking in doors, grabbing the exact terrorist, depriving him of sleep for more information and detaining him at GITMO was so horrifying to my liberal friends.

But when President Obama orders a drone to blow up grandma, the kids, the wife, and hopefully the terrorist, his position is so much more revered by my liberal friends.

Which method do you think does more to inspire new terrorists? I personally think President Obama's preferred method insures a much broader and deeper generational hatred. What do you think?

It is interesting. And while I have softened my arguing against the ridiculous statements against the right on here and have defended more of my liberal social ideas I still have no wavered from one admin to the next. We must not show weakness to these folks. ignoring them does not make them go away.

Unfortunately as energy becomes less and less available we will have more and more terror and restricted liberty.

sort of rhetorical

you're not gonna get any reaction here

cause your question HURTS as there is no response

that will make sense that is

crickets ;)

The only sign of a win in JUB CE&P. Typically no one EVER admits they were owned. Silence is the only white flag you will see in these parts.

Just beware when they call the next phase of the Drone program, "Skynet" ;)

Hmmmmm.... anti-terminator, resistance fighter, end of the world scenario, dirty resistance fighter sex, ......... slight fantasy.......... nahhhhhh :p

If he manages to keep the damage limited to the targets and henchmen, I think in time the animosity over it will slide. But if the gets too many "collateral casualties", we're going to get anger and hatred.

It might be offset by having open tribunals setting out the evidence for the world.

Is it really that time again? Killer drone season? Oh, I just love this time of year!

LOL, liberals love it when Obama kills people without a trial.

However, when Bush dunked a known terrorist it was a despicable act.

For discussion: If AAA had been captured alive would you, anyone here, been for or against water-boarding him for intel?

I'm more interested in the response from posters who are happy he was killed under these questionable circumstances .

Anyone who approves of waterboarding is a barbarian.

... and the sky above the earth filled with killer drones is civilized?

The USA won't be the only one with drones for very long. I'm sure technology for stealth drones is being advanced right now.

Drones carrying nuclear bombs and other WMD's. It's going to be a great 21st century.

Agreed!

Ding! Ding! Ding! Winner! It will be interesting as the number of killer drones sold by US arms manufacturers to other countries, will inevitably end up being used by another nation against someone on American soil. Frankly, how can the US come to any international court with "clean hands" to seek recompense and damages, when the US has blood dripping from its hands?

You and I agree Jack S. ..|

I should print and frame.

Have to warn you though, some will start calling your crazy.

Agreed!

They taught you well at that school for changing the subject and pretending you still make sense.

Your opening statement has zero to do with the statement of mine you quoted.

Yes. I didn't mean to say Jack's point about drones was wrong, only that it wasn't connected to my statement about waterboarding.

I think we're going into a leg of the historical cycle of weaponry, where the nature of the state of weapons technology gives the advantage to the wealthy elite, who inevitably use it to establish one or another form of tyranny. We have a great deal of technology that promises great hope for individual liberty, but it's always weapons technology that defines the shape of a society, in the end.

The subject of the thread is drones, my friend, not waterboarding.

I do agree that we are heading into a very unknown and frightful time.

Wonder if there is any land left in Montana or some uninhabited island with a fresh water supply?

Oh boy, this is sooooo funny. Haha

Not!

Panetta, who served as CIA director prior to becoming Pentagon chief in July, jokingly told an auditorium full of sailors at the U.S. naval base in Naples that he was enjoying his new job because of all the firepower at his disposal.

“Obviously I have a hell of a lot more weapons available to me here than I had at the CIA,” he said. “Although the Predators aren’t bad.”
