Lurkers Take Note!!!!

TWO HUNDRED POSTS!!!

Yeah me(!) (!) (!)

See how easy it is!!

Congratulations.gif

I come on here and post responses/start threads less frequently than I used to. The main reason being: some, not all, fellow jubbers are somewhat rude, and are, to an extent, critical of what other jub members post. This makes me wonder, "Why would I post? So I can be criticized for my thoughts?". I first joined thinking that everyone, well almost everyone, would be accepting. So, to avoid all of that, I rarely post anymore. I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who feels like this. But that's my story.

Hey Gmoney, thanks!

Braves Fan, I haven't seen ya for a while and agree with your post. I think a lot of it was during the last year.

Hey braves_fano5! Don't give up, keep posting and you will start to feel more comfortable around here. I don't think its really any different than in real life. People can be critical there as well. It takes a little getting used to but so far I've found most of the guys here are pretty good guys. Sometimes people have off days but don't we all?

As for the guys complaining about being ignored, my advice is to post a lot to different threads and pretty soon you'll have enough responses that you won't even notice the posts that weren't responded to. It also helps to tell a little bit about yourself once in a while.

IMO, a good place to get started is the Coming Out and Relationships Forum. The guys who start threads in there are very grateful for advice and support and I think you will feel very welcome and at home there. Its also a No Flame Zone so there isn't much criticism.

Andreus what a wonderful Idea!!!!! Come out come out where ever you are we really don't bite, well unless you ask us to...

I've noticed that there's a lot of trolling for info on these forums, which is probably why many people prefer to lurk.

talk to me baby, you know who you are....

thousands of you are reading this and you dont even think about answering because you dont think i am speaking to you....

BUT I AM

WE ALL ARE TALKING TO YOU

thousands and thousands of members with few to no posts, who enjoy reading but think there is no space here for their ideas... well you are wrong. there is always room for your posts here

always

tell me what you are thinking

tell me how long you have been here

tell me anything you want

even if its just a ten letter post

make it!!! ..|
Agreed with one descending note - why are people doing this with their "greenie" in a "grey - un-scene) state, when they are actually on line. Seems to me it is a little unfair to the rest of the members who are thus then reading posts that appear to be old and not newer ones.

just a mere observation of the local village idiot. i know it is an individual decision but it seems to be somewhat mis-leading to the members as a whole. no offense is inteded by this comment, it is again merely an observation. by this lowly creature amongst homo homo sapiens.
eM.:(

dunno

when i was a sugar daddy i left my light off

when i was a member of the brain trust, i did too

i think its mostly because i leave my computer on all day and often i walk away when i am signed in

people think im here and watching when im actually away from the computer.

i guess it stays off because i just forget to reset it when i get back to the puter

thanks again to all the lurkers for talking to me

i hope guys i have never talked to keep postingto this thread and the ones that did for the first time today will stick with it and get to know us all

we need you guys because the truth is we really start to bore each other without some new blood to stir things up with a fresh perspective. We need you guys more than you need us ;)

:=D: Thanks Andreus for this thread and thanks everyone who extended welcomes. It can be more than a little intimidating, which is sort of odd in that I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling like I know a lot of the regulars from so many postings. At any rate, thanks for throwing open the doors even more. Cheers.

This is a wonderful idea Dreu, and I concur.....perhaps some of the best Jubbers ever haven't even posted yet and are lurking,exploring...thinking if their voice will be heard, will be respected and appreciated.Well,if you have something to say, whether funny,sad,passionate,provocative...even sexy...and you treat others with civility and respect, you will be part of this family in no time.We have an incredible diversity of personalities and interests waiting to add you out there lurking and so inclined to join us...come on in,the water's warm!:D

Some of us are lurkers because we got pissed off when our messages were ignored

Come post in Fun and Games a bit -- no one gets ignored there.

Things can be really, really weird, but you won't be ignored!

p.s. -- contrary to popular belief, we do discuss serious stuff in F & G.

I can't pass this one by....

I think you meant a "dissenting" note. When I read "descending note", in my mind was the image of a choir doing a glissando down a full scale.:D

Most of the time I don't feel like I have anything worthwhile to add.
Then try adding something that's not worthwhile. You'll be surprised at the people who suddenly respond to those kind of posts. So I try not to be the judge of what is worthwhile and what isn't. Sometimes I just post, hold my breath, and hit the submit button. It takes a little practice to get comfortable with it. ;)

What a fantastic idea for a thread ..|

Plus fine words from Riverrick - this is exactly what I used to do - type a message - read it - edit it - re-read it - edit some more - argue with myself as to its actual relevence - edit out anything that I thought might be miscontrued - HOLD BREATH - CLOSE EYES - HIT SUBMIT - and then wait . . . and wait . . . only for the finely thought out point to be seemingly ignored! And then I found the "comments" section and it seemed people had been reading all along.

To those lurkers still not "out" be assured you are not alone in this feeling and I know its a cliche but it DOES get easier - This message has only taken me 20 minutes to type and edit (!) Yeah me.
