Generally, first class tickets are just a few hundred more than coach tickets. It looks to me like your parents just can't afford it. That's the only thing that makes sense. You'd better sit down and have an open and honest convo w/ your parents. Better to know now whether you're heading for the poor house.

I would go just out of respect for my family. They are paying for your trip and I'm sure you can find things to do there.

I would love to visit just about any country outside the U.S. for vacation. Big deal, so you have to fly coach. Have you ever taken a road trip? That is just as boring but just find things to occupy your time while your there. Magazines, books ,etc.

No offense but you do sound kind of spoiled if those are your reasons for not going.

I think you should invest your time doing something worthwhile, like volunteer work, some kind of community service. Instead of going on vacation, I think you should go to a local soup kitchen for Christmas and feed the hungry and the homeless. Then, go to a local hospital and visit patients who are injured and sick. Then, go to a nursing home and visit the elderly and disabled. Volunteering is a very good way to give back to people less fortunate and would be a way for you to distract yourself from your "major family trouble".

This is my third favourite post all thread.

And btw, it's also the best. The other two are just really fucking funny.
