Mariah complimenting someone that ppl think is Madonna (and dissing X-tina while at it - I don't think she's talking about Madonna though):


I thought these 2 apparently hated each other? Well maybe they do, but apparently not 100%, lol.

This thread isn't meant to start yet another Mariah/Madonna match. I like them both, so it's cool to see this.

I think more often than not, these rivalries and feuds between celebrities have more to do with the fans than the celebrities themselves.

I cannot remember the exact story, but Mariah met Christina at a party that Mariah threw a few years ago. Mariah's version of the story was that Christina was very rude, snotty, and had a nasty attitude; Christina's version is that Mariah was very drunk, aloof, and obnoxious. Later, Christina took a shot at Mariah's having a breakdown. When Mariah heard this, she said "I'll pray for her."

I do not remember that exact words, but that's probably why Mariah dissed Christina in this clip.

Christina was on the cover of the June '06 issue of GQ and in the article she said:

"One time, we were at a party and I think she got really drunk, and she had just really derogatory things to say to me," Aguilera told the magazine. "But it was at that time that she had that breakdown, so she might have been very medicated."

In response to Christina's comments, Mariah told Access Hollywood:

"I had hoped that Christina was in a better place now than the last time I saw her, when she showed up uninvited at one of my parties and displayed questionable behavior. It is sad yet predictable that she would use my name at this time to reinvent past incidents for her promotional gain," she added. "It is in my heart to forgive and I will keep her in my prayers."

THEN (whew!) Christina responded to Mariah's response:

"I do not want any bad energy with anyone," she told Access when contacted for comment. "My intentions were not to upset Mariah with any statements that were published or taken out of context. I have all the respect in the world for her."

Obviously Mariah doesn't have the same "respect" that X has for her, apparently.
