Wow, not even close.

Mariah and her incredible voice over Beyonce and her incredibley annoying family.

BTW, Billboard magazine doesn't include the No. 1 hits Diana Ross had with The Supremes as part of her catalog so the hits Beyonce had with Destiny's Child? They don't count.

I do know that Beyonce’s always stayed true to herself. I don’t know if everybody knows this, but out of the 17 #1’s that Mariah got, the first 11 of them was when she was pretending to be demure and soft-spoken…like Snow White, LOL…and I realize now that her true personality seems more like The Wicked Queen’s, no I’m only kidding!

I’m sure everybody remembered that Milli Vanilli didn’t really sing their songs and so their Grammys were taken away as a result of that. What if Billboard took away the first 11 #1’s away from Mariah leaving her with 6? But then I don’t think that’s ever gonna happen because at least she really did sing her songs and even if they did that, I don't think she'd care 'cause she's so rich.

I couldn't care less if Beyonce will never match Mariah Carey's record. If a singer is in The Guinness Book of World Records that doesn't make them legends, it just makes them record holders.

Yeah, Beyonce has 4 No1 hits. F O U R. Not 11 . She might get to keep the money from the Destiny's Child times (ha ha !) but she can't keep the number 1s too !

...And to be honest, I dunno. She might ! Or she might not . At least she's got some good chances . She keeps getting bigger and bigger (carrer-wise, I mean !!) and ...who knows ?

But she ain't got Mariah's voice, period. Not that it takes a big voice to have a No1 nowadays , but anyway...

i'm going with Mariah. she definately has the better vocal range--personally i've always thought Beyonce's voice was waaaaay overrated. personality-wise, Mariah takes it there too. Mariah just seems like she'd be more fun to chill with--Beyonce seems to take herself too seriously sometimes. also, Beyonce just....i dunno she just bugs me. i'm not even really sure why, but she always has.

I've been a Mariah fan for the past 14 years and FINALLY got to see her live in '06.....simply AMAZING!!! Nobody else can compare!

I think Beyonce is like a hybrid singer--a cross between Mariah's vocal prowess and Janet's dancing/entertaining. However, she cannot come close to both, but she is able to combine them in a way that works well.

Hmmm, this is close. Mariah has a better singing voice, hands down. That is not even disputable, as she has better natural gifts than Beyonce could ever hope to have. In addition, I have been listening to Mariah's music much longer than I have been listening to Beyonce as Mariah has been around for nearly two decades now. Mariah also has pretty difficult songs to sing and many of them are unattainable for the average person.

What Beyonce lacks in natural singing gifts, she makes it up in performance. On stage, early Mariah seemed to be very akward; in addition, she did not convey much emotion when it came to her songs. Beyonce is the better dancer, although she is no Janet.

Beyonce is also better with her expression of emotions. Mariah has improved in that area. Finally, I've seen a couple of horrible Mariah performances, vocally; Beyonce is great when it comes to nailing her notes.

As a singer, Mariah is better overall; Mariah also has the longevity. As a performer, Beyonce is better overall. I would still pay to see both.

Holy crap! Not even close! MARIAH all the way....She is amazing. Her voice is killer! She's the best. No way does Beyonce have anything on her!

Neither makes me feel anything when they sing. Beyonce has better stage presence but Mariah has better range (and the better catalogue).

Like someone else said, neither, Whitney.

Intonation is one of her strengths. I think singing with Destiny's Child helped her hear the harmonies.

But neither Mariah nor Beyonce can compare to Christina!

Id take Mariah any day. Mariah was not molded from childhood to be a star.. She was and is raw natural talent that deserves to be on top on that basis alone...besides that.. no one can touch her vocally, she's beautiful, and she writes most of her work... I can go on and on but you get the point.

Beyonce is pretty, curvy, and trained by her dad to be what she is...voice is ok
