Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

MTV immediately started playing his music wall to wall for like two hours immediately after they found out he was dead. Then they did a little MTV News thing after they stopped playing the music.

yeah, mtv is STILL playing wall-to-wall mj music videos and it's now almost midnight on the west coast.. my impression was that the only hesitation was that they were waiting to CONFIRM he was really gone before everyone started reporting he was dead.. tmz reported it first, and within an hour it was confirmed and then mtv went into full mj mode. i don't think they could've done much more of a tribute than they're doing.. and yeah, as others have said - mtv and vh1 are "sister" networks so for vh1 to go into a mj marathon would've been redundant..

Re: RIP michael jackson!

I was totally caught by surprise when my friend told me about it right after the news came out. But in hindsight, how could we have not seen this coming?

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

Let's revisit one of Michael Jackson's best hits: "Black or White"

Re: how do you feel about michael jackson...

... i'm not that affected by it... in fact i'm shocked how many people are upset about it...

i mean with all the people constantly making fun of him and the fact that he hasn't really contributed anything substantial (at least nothing that money can't buy) in a decade aside from scandals and drama you would think no one would care he was gone

but whatever... keep acting like he was a god among men... at least till the next cool celebrity dies...

btw... does anyone even care farah faucet died too?

RIP

Re: RIP michael jackson!

RIP Michael Jackson. He was a great entertainer and artist. What a horrible week for entertainment with Ed McMahon and Farah Fawcett.... and now the King of Pop.

Re: RIP michael jackson!

It's all his father's fault!

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

It's so sad that he passed. I've been listening to his songs all evening and remembering the influence he had on me as a kid.

Re: RIP michael jackson!

Sad! I grow up listen to his music. Had a crush on him before all those crap he did to himself! RIP the king of pop! Your legend will live on!!!

Re: [merged] Michael Jackson Dies at 50

Wonder how much value the concert tickets now have.

*off to eBay*

I'm in the same boat. While yes, he did make some good songs and was an icon, the coverage on his death is that of a president being shot...which i think is a little bit ridiculous. I'm not saying his death is insignificant but for a guy who's been accused of child molestation and all that went on with the guy, I'm basically floored that this many people are so generally upset by this.

You should have seen facebook new statuses today. I doubt one person has a song by MJ on their main playlist and...idk. Maybe I'm just crazy.

Re: RIP michael jackson!

I agree with bluedragon4 - have mixed feelings about this.

He was not happy being black, he was probably not happy period.

He was an arch manipiulator and probably rarely told the truth.

A huge talent there is no doubt but if he did do the things alleged he should not be deified.

Sad for his family and one shudders to think what will happen to those three children. Even his children had to be white.

He was a sad, sad man and it was inevitable that he would not grow old -though I know some gays think 50 is geritatric.

Let's say a prayer for his soul and hope that his God is merciful and will understand.

Re: RIP michael jackson!

Pls guys i don't wanna read any bad comment for him today.

I lost a part of my heart. R.I.P THE KING OF ALL MUSIC

bidaddysex and bluedragon4 must have deeper problems. Just in what way can they say things they no nothing about. The heard it on Court TV and never witnessed a thing.

Tell you even more truth, God will have a hard time having pity on you two when you pass. Least your comments will be no longer be offensive than your own lives it seems.

May Michael really rest in peace because some people seem to embed TV propaganda of the Rich and Famous !!!
