On Topic Discussion Mike Jeffries: The "Guy" that Runs Abercrombie and Fitch Doesn't Believe in Aging Gracefully

what better way to catapult your career than to sue a HUGE name in the retail world over a sex scandal.

Disagree. What company is going to hire someone they see as "sue happy"? Who wants to have to crack down on the behavior of every person working a shoot to ensure nothing inappropriate is done, ever...

i'm pretty sure there aren't warning labels for people like that, breh.

but hey, it doesn't surprise me that there are people that do that though. back to my original point, the modeling field is negative as fuck but that's not surprising being that superficiality and vanity are what runs it. people are being judged and treated by how good they look. something like this like what happened to the model is probably the norm if you ask me but then again, there's a lot of openly gay men that work as execs in the modeling field and as for the models, a lot of them are naive where they get taken advantage of, big headed and even closet cases or gay themselves so they probably sleep their way to the top. look @ calvin klein and his boyfriend. i don't know which person would want to get involved with that shit, you're basically being treated like a ho.

It's not a warning label, it's a possible reality affecting the bottom line.

Business dictates you have to know your liabilities. AKA nothing personal, just business...

well, who knows. it's probably his first time making it big and he decides to pull some bullshit like this because he has some need for attention or whatever. it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up on a reality show on mtv sooner or later. judging by his self photos, he seems like the type.

Doesn't wash... He's a freakin' male model for crissakes. If he wanted attention all he'd need to do is go to the mall.

:rotflmao: man, you're giving him too much credit. he's still a person like everybody else. people aren't going to flock over to him because of his looks unless they know for a fact that he's a model in which he's standing outside a & f shirtless. otherwise, people aren't going to give a fuck. you're overrating people's attention spans and people in general. anybody can be a model, breh.

Maybe he didn't think this through enough before stepping forward. Unless he actually wanted to be widely known as the masturbating A&F model.

Although this is bad publicity for A&F. Their whole advertising premise suggests that their clothes will get you sex with their hot models, or at least hang out half naked with them. Now it kind of suggests that their brand will get you nothing except more dates with Rosy Palmer.

i don't even know if or why would anybody even wears brand clothes for those reasons to begin with. that is a high school kid mentality where the clothes make the man and not the man making the clothes.

and i think the idea of using some models which depending on who you ask may be hot or not to sell some clothes is silly too. it's good for my eyes though looking at the hotties but i don't see how having a hot guy wearing some brand clothes is going to draw anybody to the shirt he's modeling in especially if it looks like shit. #-o don't plan on buying any of their clothes because they look ugly and corny to me. it still shows that at the end of the day, people will be people regardless where you'll always have somebody trying to get over on somebody else whether the guy forced him to jerk off or he did it knowingly trying to get money off of it or people are just zombies where they'll jump on anything you show them. either way, people still don't get it.

Yeah... I'm going to conclude you are an alien that knows very little about your new environment.

breh, i think you need to go to the mall more often. there's plenty of guys that could be models but guess what, life goes on. it's not like the whole world is going to stop because you see one attractive face out of hundreds. it's that you got some people that actually go for it and get it. you're likely to get a modeling gig than to get a job nowadays. it's that most people lack enough confidence to do so. me, i wouldn't do it even if i was offered to.

I think this is stupid! You should not do something that you feel uncomfortable doing, just because your employer asked you to. If it goes against your principles that simply don't do it. If he's man enough to speak up about it now, he should have been man enough to say no to it when it happened.
I do think however, that this happens way more then we actually know. The things some people will do to climb up the ladder of success..

Talking about brand clothes, i never heard of "Abercrombie & Fitch" until i joined JUB.

I don't understand why some people like brand clothes.
Is it because they want to show off that they paid alot more for their clothes ?

Creepy. Creepy.

Why go all out like that and get all that plastic surgery and botox? And bleach blond? Really?

Anybody that thinks I'm being unnecessarily harsh, please read him in his own words here.

Also: did I mention that he's a Republican? Yep, a gay Republican.

I met him before when I worked at A&F and they opened the first Gilly Hicks in my mall. The guy is a whack job to put it lightly. What sane person keeps a nude painting of their adult son above the fireplace in their bedroom? The company is tanking and rightfully so. When we enter another recession in 2 years due to China decelerating, the company will get battered even harder.

I see there is nothing wrong with that.

Looks like they aren't doing so well as a company - them and Aeropostale.
