The vaccine for mpox is a smallpox vaccine. There is enough vaccine for mpox high-risk groups. It's the younger people (who never received smallpox vaccines) and HIV positive people who were most affected. The US Government bought 5 million doses for the mpox outbreak but they have a stockpile of 100 million smallpox vaccines.They should make enough vaccine for everyone! You never know where you might pick something like this up.
Last year, quite a few people lied about their risk profile in order to get their vaccine while there was a shortage.
It's skin-to-skin transmission, so it depends on where the lesions are. Many of the cases from last year's Pride celebrations were on the face, presumably because either the person made out with someone who was carrying the virus on the skin of their face or the person was on the giving side of a blowjob or rimming.Same place as the STI's...
If it's on the mouth or face, then it wouldn't necessarily require sexual conduct.
